I’d like to dedicate this shot to a good friend of mine William McIntosh. I have spent the last 4 months shooting as much as I can with Bill and trying to gleen info from him about his weather prediction skills and gain some insight about his frame of mind about photography. He is a master of weather prediction IMHO and I have always admired his tenacity which has netted him some absolutely fantastic captures from Yosemite National Park and the Pacific Northwest. Bill contacted me during the week to see if I was up for a Banzai run to Yosemite Valley as he was predicting a passage in the storm which would provide a high probability of misty/snowy conditions like seen in many of his postings from there. Of course Bill was right on the money as was shown from some of the webcams provided there. But unfortunately I had to decline as I was starting to get sick with the Flu and didn’t want to drag him down with me. Today he contacted me again to see if I was up for some shooting at Corona Del Mar but I was still trying to fight off the Flu and as painful as it was had to opt out again. Later, today, as I was digging through my folder of processed photos I found this shot and the pain of declination returned. Sorry Bill, I was more worried about getting you sick then worsening my own condition. LOL. Thanks for the invite my friend and hope you had a great day at CDM. If you would like to see William’s amazing photography, you can visit his stream here.

Tale of the Take…
This is a side view of the arch found at Corona Del Mar, If you wanted to get a full view through the arch you would need to scramble along the cliffsides base there at a specific tide level, I say specific because if you time it incorrectly you wouldn’t drown but you would have to spend a long, cold night on the rocks or call the Coast Guard to come “fish” you out which carries along an $800 dollar or better rescue charge. I’m still hoping that Bill will show me the specifics of entering here at a time that would be safe to enter and exit during the sunset. See what I mean about his tenacity. :)
Please come over and check out my other photos, you might find something else you like. :)
Thanks for taking the time to take a look at my photos, and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great weekend everybody!! :)

I'm giving myself a break from Flickr for a little while to get my strength back as I'm still under the weather. I'll hopefully see you soon. There's absolutely no need to comment on this photo. :-)

Continuing the visit of my neighborhood...I am just too lazy to take my car and go shooting elsewhere! ;-)
This the pond in the apartment complex where I live. The little glass house in the middle of the pond is the entrance to access the swimming pool which is located one level below.

I absolutely love it to tap with my finger on their striped bellys. And sometimes they drop right out from the net.
Did you know?
The Wasp Spider was „Spider of the year 2001“ and they try to eat their male partners after they have finished...
Thanks for watching.

(War) h'uh
Yeah!
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin) uh-huh, uh-huh
(War) h'uh
Yeah!
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin')
Say it again, y'all
(War) h'uh (h'uh) look out!
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin')
Listen to me
Ooh war, I despise
'Cause it means destruction of innocent lives
War means tears, to thousands of mother's eyes
When their sons go off to fight and lose their lives
I said, war (h'uh)
Good God, y'all!
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin') 'gin
Say it, again
(War) whoa (h'uh) whoa-whoa, Lord
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin')
Listen to me!
(War)
It ain't nothin' but a heartbreaker!
(War)
Friend only to the undertaker
Ooh, war
Is an enemy to all mankind
The thought of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest
Within the younger generation
Induction, then destruction
Who wants to die?
Ooh war, Good God (h'uh) y'all!
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin')
Say it, say it, say it
(War)
Woah-h'uh (h'uh) yeah uh
(What is it good for?)
(Absolutely) nothin'
Listen to me
(War)
It ain't nothin' but a heartbreaker
(War)
It's got one thing and that's the undertaker
Ooh, war
Has shattered many a-young man's dreams
Made him disabled, bitter, and mean
And life is much too short and precious
To spend fighting wars each day
War can't give life
It can only take it away
Oh, war!
(H'uh) Good God, y'all
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin')
Say it, again
(War)
Whoa (h'uh) whoa-whoa, Lord
(What is it good for?)
A-absolutely (nothin')
Listen to me!
(War)
It ain't nothin' but a heartbreaker
(War)
Friend only to the undertaker
Woo!
Peace, love and understanding tell me
Is there no place for anything else?
They say we must fight
To keep our freedom
But Lord, knows there's got to be
A better way
Oooh
(War)
God, y'all! (uh)
(What is it good for?)
You tell 'em! (h'uh)
Say it, say it, say it
(War)
Good God (h'uh) now, h'uh
(What is it good for?)
Stand up and shout it
(Nothin'!)

This Texas sized Black Bee was drinking water from the edge of our water fountain in the front yard, I got as close as I could without disturbing it. Took a few shots and backed off. The details on this images are very detailed to say the least. Especially the Eye's.!!!!!!!

From www.birdnote.org/listen/shows/nictitating-membranes-natur...
"For most birds, keen eyesight is absolutely critical — for finding food, spotting predators, and generally staying alive. But many birds lead lives that could be very hard on the eyes.
"Fortunately, birds have evolved a structure for protecting their eyes. Like humans, they have upper and lower outer eyelids. But beneath the outer eyelids lies an extra eyelid, called the nictitating membrane. Nictitating, for all its alliterative syllables, simply means “blinking”. This extra eyelid is hinged at the inner side of the eye and sweeps horizontally across the cornea. The nictitating membrane is largely transparent, and it helps keep the eye moist and clean while guarding it from wind, dust, and hazards.
“Reptiles and some mammals have the extra eyelid, too.”

The absolutely stunning Fort Stevens Beach is dominated by miles of pure golden sand. That being said there is also the wreck of the Peter Iredale. She ran aground on 25th October 1906 and has gradually deteriorated ever since. My real subject here was the gull on a walk about on the sands but the wreck and couple add nicely to the silhouette.
Absolutely fuming that my main target of the day was the only time two trains passed one another here! Looking absolutely pristine, 43049 heads south from Penrith with the 1Z71 Carlisle-Plymouth as a frustratingly close pendo heads north with a Euston-Glasgow service. Had the HST not been a few minutes late and had the pedno not been 8 minutes down there would've been around 10 minutes difference but as fate would have it, it didn't go my way again and for the second time in 4 days I got bowled by a passenger service.
If you ever talked to me, you KNOW without a doubt my southern roots lol. Lately I seem to be embracing the simple southern life much more. This song says a lot of it.

"Absolutely nothing," she said, "it's just a flower.”

Absolutely no one that knows me better
No one that can make me feel so good
How did we stay so long together?
Everybody, everybody said we never would
And just when I, I start to think they're right
That love has died
There you go making my heart beat again,
Heart beat again
Heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it and do it one time?
There you go pulling me right back in
Right back in
Right back in
And I know, whoa oh
I'm never letting this go.

Such an Extraordinary and highly detailed capture of this Bee working hard to gather as much pollen it can carry and eat, not to mention the wonderful flower that it is working on at that moment.Taken with my Canon 50D with 60mm Macro lens. Hope Y'all like it.?

There is nothing -- absolutely nothing -- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. In or out of 'em, it doesn't matter. Nothing seems really to matter, that's the charm of it. Whether you get away, or whether you don't; whether you arrive at your destination or whether you reach somewhere else, or whether you never get anywhere at all, you're always busy, and you never do anything in particular; and when you've done it there's always something else to do, and you can do it if you like, but you'd much better not."

As promised, you can now see another shot from my evening visit to the beautiful Albrechts Castle in Meissen. This one is my absolute favorite because the lighting conditions and the clarity of the reflection (after all, this is a river and not standing water) have become absolutely perfect.
This photo is not only the best I've ever taken of this place but also one of my favorite photos of this year.
