I have another shot similar to this one in my photostream that I posted weeks ago, it's of this same bird after it had taken flight. I came across this photo and thought it was interesting as well. I should have posted them together!

Absolutely LOVE these shoes and socks! Lee Lee created them with 24 pattern options AND an off button, something you don't see on the other creators similar products! The shoes come with 46 gorgeous options for colours for the shoe and soles!! And, if that all isn't amazing enough, Lee Lee is offering these for the special price of just L$149 for a limited time! So get your feet down to the store and pick up your pair today!
The dress is also from LFW, it's called Becca and comes in a ton of colours and fun patterns as well, and because Lee Lee has worked so hard to create unique colours for her fashions, these two items match up so flawlessly!!

Looking out towards the water of the lake at the morning sun and seeing the steam coming from the Care Centre heating system. The lake is frozen and has snow on it but there are open water patches so it is not save to walk on.
Esta asombrosa vista fue tomada durante el ascenso por la morrena del glaciar de Khumbu.
Al fondo podemos volver a disfrutar de la asombrosa vista del Ama Dablam.
This amazing view was taken during the climb by Khumbu glacier moraine.
On the background we can see another time the Ama Dablam's view.

Sagarmatha National Park. Nepal.
Absolutely no idea about species, but they normally fly off when I get up close!!

Phew... it's taken me absolutely ages to hand-stitch and blend this double-image Vertorama... five weeks and two days... exactly! :)
I probably have at least a dozen unprocessed Vertoramas still hanging around in my archive... some of them are really nice... but all of them are practically unstitchable! Take this one for instance... with the stitch-line almost exactly in the middle of this image... how could I ever hope to match up all those vertical tree-trunks and side-branches!? I've already tried Photoshop's automerge option and all the pano-stitching software I own... but they all fail miserably on scenes like this!
So how did I do it? First I created a new canvas and pasted both images into it as new layers. Then I dragged the layers roughly into position and used Photoshop's distortion correction filter to bring the trees in each layer back to their vertical status. Then I made approximately eight to ten micro-rotations to each layer, and then resized the upper layer about six or seven times before everything fitted together perfectly. Then I adjusted the brightness and contrast of each layer so that I could only just make out the hard edge of the upper layer. And then finally, I used a soft eraser brush at 100% opacity to erase that hard edge.
Was it worth it? Probably not... but you know what they say... practice makes perfect.

Whilst taking some bluebell shots in the local woods, I had a double take at this scene! This log triggered my inbuilt "fight or flight" alert system for a nano second. It certainly looked like some reptilian crocodile emerging from the depths.
The more I looked at it the more the logs form and texture seemed to resemble a crocodile. So for a bit of humourous interest I thought I would post it. There has been absolutely no manipulation of the image, this was exactly how this old tree appeared. So if " you go down to the woods today...." as they say!
Absolutely dreadful quality but since I was only just 7 years old at the time I can't really complain.
couldn't miss this show stopper while out for a walk with my son yesterday, the yard was pretty fab too.

This American White Pelican has a broken wing. It has been at the lake, alone, for at least three days. It swims fine, but cannot fly. Broken wing too often = death sentence.
I called two area DNR-recommended rehabbers but couldn't get either to answer. Even if I had a boat and the knowledge, it is illegal for a non-licensed person to attempt wild bird rescues.
We arrived in Crater Lake to find lovely clouds and the most incredible colors... But it was cold and windy too!

I took off in the late afternoon and made it here by 4:15... Just enough light to photograph two waterfalls before getting back home. Horsetail was my favorite of the two to shoot, more options for compositions. Enjoy!

Dada, rest in peace! Your heritage (and your humor!) is carried on in SL. Big time!
Not that I am such a big traveler (so, God knows what else is out there that I am missing, of course). That said, this is one of the most compelling places that I have ever seen in SL.

Absolutely incredible views of this bird at DWT Willington Wetlands. The bird has a white ring on its right leg with black lettering of 1.1K - it was ringed in Norway.
Absolutely frigid day outside, temps were -12F in the morning with an even lower wind chill. A good day to play with some creative photography. I still had everything set up for the shots I took a few days ago, so took another shot at it. It's so addictive, I love the different results you get with different backgrounds and the swirling of the oil droplets.
Absolutely stunning birds in their gorgeous breeding plumage compared to when i've seen them in the UK in the drab Black and White winter dress..!!
