Looking close on Friday - A single leaf

Taken on a shop window in my local town which is always worth a look at the display for the wonderful photos, collages, posters and odd items for sale.

The story about how the expose yourself to art poster came about is in the link below .

The coastal fringe really "greens up' towards the start of our spring. It's a great time to walk the track along the cliff tops with the odd whale sighting and usually just the dog for company

The river Alblas is a small river in the Dutch province Zuid-Holland.

Bleskensgraaf is really called Bleskensgraaf and Hofwegen. They were combined in 1855. The village forms part of the municipality of Molenwaard. Apart from a number of old farms and a flourmill, Bleskensgraaf does not have many monuments.

The village lies in the middle of the polder landscape of the Alblasserwaard, on the small bog river Alblas. There is the Natuurpad [Nature trail] Bleskensgraaf, which also passes along the hamlet of De Donk, which lies on a seven-metre high hill. A ‘donk’ is a type of sand dune which originated in the ice age. Some protrude above the peat and clay ground.

sunrise in Monument Valley with the East Mitten, West Mitten and Merrimack Butte. Always a magical place to enjoy the quiet.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by.

I'm trying but I keep falling down

I cry out but nothing comes now

I'm giving my all and I know peace will come

I never wanted to need someone

Yeah, I wanted to play tough

Thought I could do all just on my own

But even Superwoman

Sometimes needed Superman's soul

Help me out of this hell

Your love lifts me up like helium

Your love lifts me up when I'm down down down

When I've hit the ground

You're all I need

And if you let go I'll float towards the sun

I'm stronger 'cause you fill me up

But when the fear comes and I drift towards the ground

I am lucky that you're around

Yeah, I wanted to play tough

Thought I could do all just on my own

But even Superwoman

Sometimes needed Superman's soul

Help me out of this hell

Your love lifts me up like helium

Your love lifts me up when I'm down down down

When I've hit the ground

You're all I need

'Cause your love lifts me up like helium

Your love lifts me up like helium

You lift me up and I am found

You lift me up before I hit the ground

You lift me up when I'm down down down

You lift me up before I hit the ground

You lift me up and I am found

You lift me up before I hit the ground

You lift me up when I'm down down down

You lift me up before I hit the ground!

Your love lifts me up like helium

Your love lifts me up when I'm down down down

When I've hit the ground

You're all I need

'Cause your love lifts me up like helium

Your love lifts me up like helium

A flock of starlings stopped by here on their way south and put on an air show for me.

The flame skimmer or firecracker skimmer (Libellula saturata) is a common dragonfly of the family Libellulidae, native to western North America.

Male flame skimmers are known for their entirely red or dark orange body, this includes eyes, legs, and even wing veins. Females are usually a medium or darker brown with some thin, yellow markings. This particular type of skimmer varies in size but is generally measured somewhere between two and three inches long. These naiads are known for being rather large and chubby-looking due to their rounded abdomen. They are covered with hair but, unlike most young dragonflies, they lack hooks or spines.

After a respectable climb of about 300 m ((984 ft) in altitude, you find a vast panorama at the Montagne de Cras. An orientation table describes the place. The whole village of Pierreclos is at our feet, dominated by its castle. In the distance on the left, you can clearly see the very recognizable silhouette of the Roche de Vergisson.

A lonely lighthouse station keeps watch over a section of the Inner Passage. This little station was the only visible signs of human activity to be found amongst the dense endless forest here. The scene reminded me of a fairytale set in an enchanting emerald sea.

Every time I’ve been to this stunning lake the water has been frozen solid so I was pleased to find a small section open. The downside was that to include it in my composition I had to… stand in it.

This is a truly stunning location and one I love returning to every time I visit the rockies.

View large and, as always, thanks for looking!

Looking Close... on Friday: A single egg

A tiny nest that fell out of a tree after it was finished with; a little plastic egg from my Child Care Centre; a Crimson Rosella feather from the bird bath; in the Mulberry bush which needs a good trim this Autumn.
