The face of a Grevy Zebra is one of the delights of Africa you see them rarely as they are a much endangered species, Grevy’s zebras are only found in northern Kenya and south eastern Ethiopia.

The long-legged Grevy's zebra is the biggest of the wild equids. It is more closely related to the wild ass than the horse (whereas the plains zebra is more closely related to the horse). One can distinguish the Grevy’s zebra from the plains zebra by its larger size, big rounded ears, white unmarked belly, and finer black stripes. You tend to only see them only in very small groups unlike the large herds of plain Zebra. When you do spot one it’s a real joy

For a fifteen minutes period after our visit to Fountains Abbey we were provided with a superb light show. This view was taken just two minutes from the A1 and yet looks so rural.

I guess, every body is expecting a Christmas gift ...

but most of us usually forget,

that we actually have received the best Christmas gift ever ...

which is our Jesus Christ when He is born in our heart ....

HAVE A BLESSED CHRISTMAS

Hugs & kisses from me & my boy Unyink :)))

When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive - to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.

another one from this wonderful morning, sorry i'm a bit behind .... try to visit you soon :)

A shot of the Golden palace outside Kyoto in Japan. A friend of mine came here exactly one year before hand, and had blue skies and green grass!

On the day that we visited it was so wet and cold that my shoelace froze!

Needless to say though, we got to see this amazing scene.

Kinkaku-ji Temple

...

So was I once myself a swinger of birches.

And so I dream of going back to be.

It's when I'm weary of considerations,

And life is too much like a pathless wood

Where your face burns and tickles with the cobwebs

Broken across it, and one eye is weeping

From a twig's having lashed across it open.

I'd like to get away from earth awhile

And then come back to it and begin over.

May no fate willfully misunderstand me

And half grant what I wish and snatch me away

Not to return. Earth's the right place for love:

I don't know where it's likely to go better.

I'd like to go by climbing a birch tree,

And climb black branches up a snow-white trunk

Toward heaven, till the tree could bear no more,

But dipped its top and set me down again.

That would be good both going and coming back.

One could do worse than be a swinger of birches.

After a weekend spent in the lake district which was mostly cloudy we managed to catch a little bit of blue sky. This viewpoint is one of my favour spots near Ashness bridge, I could have sat here for ages just taking in the scene

Today I received a new wig for my lovely Melody.

I've never been completely happy with my MM. I've changed her wig and chips a few times already and even thought of selling her but found it too hard. I fell in love with MMs with red hair but there aren't very many wig options for red heads, and since I wasn't going to copy anyone I was left trying other looks for her. Recently I found this new fiber so now Melody can be a cute ginger and remain completely unique. I also gave her Tiphonia's stock chips, which have a similar color to MM's stock but slightly more green and much less dull, and I'm thinking about renaming her too. Maybe Willow or something earthy to amplify her hippie vibe <3 I hope you like her new look!

Okay, that was a shamefully long story about a wig ._.

See it: 'a perfect dream' On White

What a difference a week makes. I was up and Miles was asleep, I was putzing around taking a photo of our camp and I looked up and saw the sky, I grabbed my camera and ran out to the lake. It was brilliant, but I'd forgot my GND, so I set the camera down raced back and this is what was left, it was more vibrant before and especially contrasted to last week when the lake was a shroud of fog. Just by chance that morning I caught the only bit of color as the sun rose. In a moment this was gone and clouds had returned, but for this moment the light was there and so was I.

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon on a quiet beach in autumn. Nearly all alone at this point and was just finished with some long exposure shots. When these majestic representatives of Mother Nature turned up to watch me. In photography some moments are truly golden.

sunrise in Monument Valley with the East Mitten, West Mitten and Merrimack Butte. Always a magical place to enjoy the quiet.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by.

It was a dull morning of cloudy skies when I came upon this southern grey-headed sparrow, perched at the top of a stunted acacia tree. You can see where the tree's branches have been ravaged by elephants and giraffes - but this was one of relatively few acacias that showed some signs of greenery in this part of The Kalahari. Good Morning, Good Afternoon and Good Evening to all my flickr's friends "Around the World"

Institiud Russell, Pàislig/ Russell Institute, Paisley - obair/ the work of: Archibald Dawson - www.paisley.org.uk/paisley-history/russell-institute/

A nice little crushed velvet number that I've had a little while that actually fits Yay happy happy. Slight problem though and that is everyone want the darn dress :-)

I got such a big hug from my friend Amanda when she saw me as she has been out of the country for such a rather long time. have to say I wasnt expecting it but it was nice to have missed by her. don't think her boyfriend impressed. lads dont understand a female connection do they.

Here's a little update from your favourite Tuxedo kitty! I am slowly getting better.

The Human and I are trying out several sorts of organic wet food. She also shoves a big pill down my throat every night that she soaks in wet food so it is easier for me to swallow. I absolutely hate it and try to escape, but I never claw or bite her.

But it is easier for me to get up in the morning, I now wake the Humans again when they are still sound asleep. My fur looks shinier. It's still too 'open' for my Humans' liking but they think it will improve. I am more playful and seem to have more energy. Like those cans of wet food and those Chinese herb pills are some kinda rejuvenating drug, ya know?

And the best of all? I do not cry when I have to pee! I still prefer to go when my Human is with me. It is a bit of an inconvenience when she makes long days at work. But I feel safest when she is around. She mentioned getting my urine tested at the vet's in a few weeks to see if my condition's really improved, but she pinky promised me she will only take my wee with her and I get to stay home. Well, then it's fine!

PS - my Human's still on Flick Diet! She tells me she checks in once a week for about five minutes but will not be able to catch up just yet.

Sorry for yet another shot of a New Holland Honeyeater, but it was looking great as it jumped from branch to branch, always keeping itself in the warmth of the sun. I was trying to stay in the sun myself, but was rugged up in jumpers, jackets, beanie, scarf and gloves trying to keep warm!

Ultimately, this was simply a test shot after I spent a lot of this morning trying to clean my new teleconverter. I never considered that it would be so prone to dust and fluff from the one simple lens swap I did while I was away. Even one attempt with a brand new lens pen left swirls all over the rear element of the lens. I finally think I got it clean though and the bright clear sky helped to show that I had finally succeeded. I ended up using a combination of my old lens pen and a soft glasses cleaning cloth.

Keen to hear what any others might use for their lens cleaning?

Tarlair Art Deco Tidal Seaside Swimming Pool

Photo 2 of my hols

This was taken at the A Listed Tarlair Tidal Swimming Pool in Macduff ( currently under restoration). An amazing location that until recently I didnt even know was there. I liked the lines of this dividing wall which would have originally separated the boating pool from the paddling pool with noticable change in water levels. Again playing with the 10 stop ND filter at a bright time of day ( intentionally breaking the norm ), I was very undecided whilst editing this and had three versions. I ended up editing my B & W version in Silver Efex Pro 2 which eventually got me to the silvery look that I wanted this shot to have. Whilst at Tarlair Pool I met one of the friends of Tarlair and it was interesting to hear about the history of such a great place. Heres hoping they get it all restored and operational once more.

Köszönjük Zolinak a pénzgyüjtést! :)

here is a simple photo this time. it is the third time i tried this type of lighting and processing with the gerbera - simple, clear, sharp and bright! a very happy photo, hopefully to put a smile on your face!

good night my friends, will see you again tomorrow.

And one of the whatsit's new fans. I take many shots as my husband builds his latest computer. I ask carefully about each part, but by the time I empty my card, I've forgotten the name.

You might think by now, after a few decades of this, I would write the names, or dictate to Siri.

But then I might seem to know what I'm doing. (Not a chance.)

A Blind Dream

The dream follows a ray...

the tiny leaves of sunflower follows the sun...

look up in the sky to touch the sun... its their fate to end up as failure

May be they know it... or may be they dont.

sky and sea never meet... but still they look together at the Horizon

and how can this look so beautiful.. if it is not there.

A five year old motherless child raises his hand in hope, cries out for a hope

for someone who dont exist and wont be there

i know there is no love for me your heart

but still i look for it... one day ill end up widout u...

but there will be no regret .. no remorse.. no pain

I lived a blind dream with me... and ill die with blind dream with me

ill be gone... but u will see... ill leave the dead blind dream behind

some one else will live it again after me

May be a young sunflower or a lover... a lonely poet or a blank canvas... or a incomplete portrait

Few moments away from serenity... few moments past the euphoria

i think that i might walk on.... or i might walk out

but the deafening silence is now killing me... i scream loud but i cant here my own voice...

i am living this life or i am dead... or it does not even matter now?

I am giving my self pain to get rid of the pain...

The Birds fly high... to touch the sky... but they cant... but still they do....

i have learned something too...

If Mirages are my only destiny... ill die chasing them in the sand...

Ilfracombe is a seaside resort on the North Devon coast with a small harbour surrounded by cliffs.

The parish stretches along the coast from the 'Coastguard Cottages' in Hele Bay toward the east and 4 miles along the Torrs to Lee Bay toward the west. The resort is hilly and the highest point within the parish boundary is at 'Hore Down Gate', 2 miles inland and 860 feet (270 m) above sea level.

The landmark of Hillsborough Hill dominates the harbour and is the site of an Iron Age fortified settlement. In the built environment, the architectural-award-winning Landmark Theatre is either loved or hated for its unusual double-conical design. The 13th century parish church, Holy Trinity, and the St Nicholas's Chapel (a lighthouse) on Lantern Hill, have been joined by the Damien Hirst owned statue, Verity, as points of interest.

Campagna HELP CHILDREN Positive HIV AIDS in Salvador, Bahia - Brasil

ma grazie a tanti di noi è stato possibile ristabilire mezzo turno di lavoro;

Well, it felt like a private view to me because when I was at this place yesterday I had it all to myself. It was a most beautiful day and I felt as if nothing in my life was wrong. I love days like that, days where I feel just happy to be alive. I wish everyday was like that but unfortunately life just isn't like that. I am happy to say that I have many more good days than bad ones and I am grateful for that. Well, this will be my last image for this evening. I do hope that you enjoy it. I really adore this place. I went back there today but I left my camera at home.

A beautiful world

Yarn: Malabrigo Merino Worsted in Stonechat (130 yds) and Chestnut (55 yds)

Modifications: Worked underside of brim in a contrast color

Extras: JHB wooden button #1594, 2/3 yd velvet suede trim, 6” suede lace

This is my first finished item for Malabrigo March! I really love how it turned out, and it’s a style of hat I don’t have already, so it will be a welcome addition to my wardrobe. blogged

A spirited Stallion from the beautiful herd of wild Mustangs near Challis, Idaho. I took this in the Spring of 2012; we hope to get back there again this year for more photos!

This was a really dark and dirty scene. It’s a murky, muddy creek, under a freeway overpass. Really bad light, surrounded by mud, weeds and litter. I used the new ND1000 filter on my telephoto lens to smooth out the water and exclude the surrounding crap. In reality it’s only about 6” deep, but it looks far more inviting now.

♥ Thank you very much for your visits, faves, and kind comments ♥
