If you don't know yet, Wage got a dog and life with Uglydog is fun. He eats, he jumps, he fetches, he eats, he chews on furniture, he chases squirrels, he eats. All to be expected. But there is one thing I didn't expect. Wage finally stopped saying "bite me" every time I ask him for anything. He is afraid Uglydog, who is always around, may take it literally.

Pero debemos reflexionar y decirnos que no merece la pena no disfrutar el día a día, no merece la pena el llevarnos mal con los demás, no merece la pena no ser felices pudiendo serlo, creo que debemos intentarlo por lo menos y pasar por esta vida de la mejor manera posible, haciendo amigos y no haciendo daño a nadie, creo que así viviremos mucho mejor.
Por todo ello os deseo a tod@s que seáis lo más felices posible

Seen during a wonderful 20 km hike in Müritz National Park ( a really lovely landscape in Northern Germany) on the handrail of a footbridge near a lake.
The Vagrant Darter, Sympetrum sanguineum, is a European dragonfly.
The species takes it English name from its habit of occasionally appearing as a rare vagrant north of its normal range.
It is a dragonfly of the family sailing dragonflies (Libellulidae). These are a family of large dragonflies (Anisoptera). It is a medium-sized dragonfly with a wingspan of 5 to 6.5 centimeters.
The head, chest (thorax) and hindquarters (abdomen) of the animals are red in the male, the female is more brownish-yellow-red colored with black markings.
You can find the Vagrant Darter in the months from July to November at all kinds of stagnant waters, including smaller waters and garden ponds.

Die Gemeine Heidelibelle (Sympetrum sanguineum) ist eine Libellenart aus der Familie der Segellibellen (Libellulidae). Diese sind eine Familie der Großlibellen (Anisoptera). Es handelt sich dabei um eine mittelgroße Libelle mit einer Flügelspannweite von 5 bis maximal 6,5 Zentimetern.
Der Kopf, der Brustabschnitt (Thorax) und der Hinterleib (Abdomen) der Tiere sind beim Männchen rot, beim Weibchen eher bräunlich-gelbrot mit schwarzer Zeichnung gefärbt.
Die Gemeine Heidelibelle ist in den Monaten Juli bis November an stehenden Gewässern aller Art anzutreffen, darunter auch Kleingewässer und Gartenteiche. Wikipedia

You get this with the right timing, and shutter speed around 2 seconds. The excellent Nikon 50mm f/1.4 does the (star) rest - salut!

Net terug van vakantie met de familie in Parijs. Een paar momenten kon ik solo op pad voor wat plaatjes... nu heb ik er 900 uit te zoeken! Ook weer ff de Flickr draad oppakken, tot ziens! :)
Deze is van afgelopen woensdagavond, een prachtige dag. Geschoten vanaf 225 meter hoogte - Tour Montparnasse. Geen aanrader om diverse redenen, later meer hierover.
Uiteraard heb ik niet gefotoshopt aan ster en zoeklicht. DIt krijg je met de juiste timing en een sluitertijd van rond de 2 seconden. De geweldige Nikon 50mm f/1.4 doet de rest (qua ster). Groet!
I'm quite sure that this is an unusual view of the Golden Gate Bridge! This was taken at Fort Point and I was delighted to find the photographer's portal in the chain link fence!! I wasn't the only one using it by the way! As you can see, the omnipotent fog is present!!
Take a closer look through that hole!

La Catedral de Burgos ó "CATEDRAL DE SANTA MARIA DE BURGOS" es un templo
que comenzo su construcción en 1221, siguiendo patrones goticos franceses.
Aunque su estilo es gotico, se aprecia en su interior elementos decorativos barrocos
y renacentistas. La construcción y las remodelaciones se realizaron con piedra
caliza extraidas del pueblo cercano de "Hontoria de la Cantera"
Fue declarada patrimonio nacional el 08/04/1885 y patrimonio de la humanidad
por la Unesco el 31 de octubre de 1984.

The Kunstmuseum Stuttgart is the art museum in Stuttgart, Germany. It opened in March 2005.
The cubic museum building with 5000 m² of display space was designed by Berlin architects Hascher and Jehle. During the day it looks like a glass cube, and at nights the interior lighted limestone walls become visible.
The museum's collection comes from the previous "Galerie der Stadt Stuttgart". The city's collection goes back to a gift from the Marchese Silvio della Valle di Casanova in 1924. It contains one of the most important collections of the work of Otto Dix and also works from Willi Baumeister, Adolf Hölzel, Dieter Roth and others (wikipedia).

Zu sehen ist hier ein kleiner Ausschnitt der Glasfassade von dem Kunstmuseum Stuttgart. Die Glasfront umfasst an jeder Gebäudeseite 56 Felder, 7 in der Breite und 8 in der Höhe.

Das Kunstmuseum wurde im März 2005 als „Nachfolgemuseum“ der Galerie der Stadt Stuttgart eröffnet. Im ersten Jahr nach der Eröffnung des Hauses wurden 330.000 Besucher gezählt. Damit hat das Kunstmuseum sogar die Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart überflügelt (Quelle: Stuttgarter Zeitung). Seine exponierte Lage in der Fußgängerzone Königstraße trägt ebenso dazu bei wie die außergewöhnliche Architektur eines die Ausstellungsräume umhüllenden strengen Glaskubus.
Das Museumsgebäude mit 5000 m² Ausstellungsfläche wurde von den Berliner Architekten Hascher und Jehle entworfen. Es wirkt von außen tagsüber als gläserner Würfel, der die Umgebung als Spiegel aufnimmt. Nachts werden die beleuchteten Travertinwände im Innern sichtbar (Wikipedia)

It's taken in the middle of the River Colne in Mill End. Light painting in the river is actually far more relaxing than you might imagine. The main worry when light painting in desolate locations at night is the fear that some misguided nutter with a hand axe will ambush you, drawn like a moth to your flailing lamps. This spot is a hundred yards along from any accessible bank, so you are screened by vegetation on all sides, out of sight, with a sizeable moat all around. Defensible.
For light painting, or any nocturnal work, I would highly recommend it. When you don't have a river, I'd suggest an invisible dog. Initially I went with "Siegfried", but have renamed him "Totem" which you can shout with a decent military bark. Simply shout for your imaginary dog now and again, perhaps interspersed with allusions to his ferocity. For example;
"Totem - get back here this minute. If you've killed another fox/moose/commando you'll be sleeping in the kennel tonight, you hyper-aggressive, 200 lb mongrel you." You get the idea.
As regards the title, I'm trying to correct an issue identified by Gregory House MD; "Physics joke[s], don't hear enough of those."

قلبي يغرق ويبحر في طريق مظلم يد بعيده كآبه من حرمة الحضن الهنيء الدافىء من قلب صافي من حنان من عيون ويد تدعوني لها كمل أنا بشوق لهذه الاحاسيس .. حقيقه من يمكن ان يحصل على هذه الاحاسيس أتوقع أنه سيكون سعيد في حياته ياليتني احصل عليها ربما حصلت على الشخص لكن لا يحسسني بأنه قريب مني لا يمنحني هذه المشاعر شعور غريب يحسسني بلهفه والشوق اليه ... هذه بعض المشاعر التي اختنقت في قلبي ولم اعرف كيف اشكوها لإنسان ما ولكن يدي تخط لكم بعض الهموم التي في قلبي همي هو أنني بعيده عن الإنسانه التي أعتبرتها هي روحي التي أشكي لها همي وحرماني التي نورت حياتي والتي أبهجت قلبي وفجأه ترحل عني ... الفراق أصعب شيء على المرء ولكن الأصعب منه هو أنك كيف ستعيش من بعد هذا الفراق ياليتها تأتي وتحي روحي التي ماتت من بعد فراقها الله ياربي مالي سواك أشكي له فأنت المستجيب إذا دعيناك ... فأكون أسعد انسانه اكون جسد بروح بعدما كنت جسد بلا روح ورده بأوراق .. لو لم يكن هناك لحظه فراق لكنت البنت السعيده المرحه التي اعتادوا علي اصدقائي ولا البنت البائسه اليأسه من بعد ذلك الفراق ..... اواه ياربي اجبني مالي سواك من مرتجى أذهب همومي كلها وأتي إلي بالهنا
I was so thrilled to see lots of Cedar Waxwings during my trip to Dauphin Island - I think they are some of the most beautiful birds out there! I mean, you can't go wrong with a bird that looks like it is wearing eye-liner :-) The waxwings would swoop onto the trees in these big flocks and stuff themselves with fruit and berries. I've heard that sometimes they will eat so much that they go into food comas and can't move! They can even get drunk off of fermented berries which would really be a sight to see...
This week I'm going to try to post a few more birds from my Dauphin Island trip, so if you don't like bird pictures feel free to ignore my photostream! In this pic you can see parts of at least 3 waxwings if you look closely. More below...

Kerala Is located in the farthest south of India and on its west coast. This state provides grand sights of nature. Passing clouds of extreme beauty and ferocity. Rolling thunder that would make animals and humans seek shelter and bolts of lightning that would streak the dark skies ever so often. In a word - it was pure magic. Thank You Thor.. if you are still there.
A storm befitting the stature of Thor, the Norse God of LIghtning, Thunder and all things elemental. Much like the two gods of the current day Hindu pantheon Hanuman and Garuda who were mightier then the other gods but chose to serve less powerful Gods.
Is there a lesson here.. ?
Maybe the area where I stayed was actually a wind tunnel from the sea to the western ghats. So perhaps it was just the location that got me such grand sights. The cloud formation if it would have been shot from maybe near the bridge would have given a correct visual of the name it carries Mammatus.
After seeing grand sights such as these , one would think that one would have got whatever what one wanted but I am still looking for what I have not found..... in the true U2 verse of similar nature. So here is an appropriate number by Celtic Thunder who do versions of various famous songs..

ZLATIBOR is a mountain of exquisite beauty. It has pleasant and mild climate, large clearings, exuberant pastures intersected with mountains with mountain streams and pine trees - which this mountain is named for.
The average hight is about 1000m above sea level.

The Balkans is the historical name of a geographic region of southeastern Europe. The region takes its name from the Balkan Mountains, which run through the centre of Bulgaria into eastern Serbia. The region has a combined area of 550,000 km2 (212,000 sq mi) and a population of about 55 million people.
The ancient Greek name for the Balkan Peninsula was “the Peninsula of Haemus” (Χερσόνησος του Αίμου, Chersónisos tou Aímou).
The Balkans are adjoined by water on three sides: the Black Sea to the east and branches of the Mediterranean Sea to the south and west (including the Adriatic, Ionian, Aegean and Marmara seas).
The identity of the Balkans is dominated by its geographical position; historically the area was known as a crossroads of various cultures. It has been a juncture between the Latin and Greek bodies of the Roman Empire, the destination of a massive influx of pagan Slavs, an area where Orthodox and Catholic Christianity met, as well as the meeting point between Islam and Christianity.

The Balkan region was the first area of Europe to experience the arrival of farming cultures in the Neolithic era. The practices of growing grain and raising livestock arrived in the Balkans from the Fertile Crescent by way of Anatolia, and spread west and north into Pannonia and Central Europe.
In pre-classical and classical antiquity, this region was home to Greek city-states, Illyrians, Paeonians, Thracians, Epirotes, Mollosians, Thessalians, Dacians and other ancient groups. Later the Roman Empire conquered most of the region and spread Roman culture and the Latin language but significant parts still remained under classical Greek influence. During the Middle Ages, the Balkans became the stage for a series of wars between the Byzantine, Bulgarian and Serbian Empires.
Last Saturday evening a lone photographer at Hole in the Wall Beach, near Santa Cruz, California braved high tide on this ledge of rock waiting for the moonrise as the sun set behind and to the right of the frame. He was also patient enough to stay put for this 2-minute exposure! It is probably someone on flickr. Any ideas? No HDR.

The Story

So, there I was doing a small group workshop on the top of a cliff. The sunset was red, but I kept watching the moonlight on the ocean as the almost full-moon rose opposite to the sun. As it got darker, the moonlight got relatively brighter. Eventually the light between the moon and the sun became even. These short moments near the full-moon can produce unusual lighting effects. I have another one from near Carmel that I'll show later with huge waves lit by a rising sun while the setting moon lit up the foreground water. You should try this sometime!
Sometimes people get upset when photographers get in 'their shot.' But I say, "okay, hold still now!"

Simply the best way to scout out locations that there is. You can see sun angles and pre-visualize light under lots of different conditions. Sometimes you can actually pre-compose your shots! This has saved me many thousands of vertical feet of climbing by avoiding spots with blocked views etc.

The abandoned Shooters Waterfront Cafe in Providence, Rhode Island.
Shooters Waterfront Cafe
Shooter’s, part of a national chain of casual waterfront dining and dancing venues, was in a three-story building that could accommodate nearly 1,600 patrons. The 25,000-square-foot complex featured dockside dining, a waterfront pool, bars inside and outside, a top-floor restaurant and a 90-slip marina. One of its incarnations included a boat valet. It cost $6 million to build in 1990.
The waterfront nightclub overlooking Narragansett Bay operated under many different names in its 10 year lifespan. It was also known as Waterline, Bombers and Bootleggers. It closed down in 2000 and the property was taken by eminent domain by the state Department of Transportation and used as a staging area for the relocation of Route 195. The building was finally demolished in 2012 and the site sits empty today despite being on the waterfront.

Unattended at the moment but probably belonging to a street vender, this suitcase stood proudly out front of the Saint Louis Cathedral, bordering Jackson Square, in the French Quarter.
The Cathedral of Monreale, on a hill on the lower slopes of a mountain overlooking Palermo, was the last and most beautiful of the Norman churches built in Sicily, and one of the architectural wonders of the medieval world. A project of the Norman King William II (1153 - 1166 - 1189), the huge Cathedral took only 8 years to build (between 1174 and 1182).
Some idea of the richness of the interior mosaics, which cover the entire Cathedral, can be gleaned from the fact that they contain around 2,200 kilos of pure gold.
technique/processing
Partly HDR or better to say DRI - the golden middle is blended from a photo taken with -2EV. Both were handheld of course (no tripods allowed). Photoshop auto align took care of the slight shift.
"standard" processing after that - sharpening, levels, s-curve, slight cross processing, tonal contrast and a lil bit of glamour glow on the brighter parts.
Que se construya en España una gran obra de uno de los arquitectos más famosos del mundo es siempre una excelente noticia. Si además se trata de un artista de cuyas creaciones es muy difícil disfrutar en Europa el acontecimiento se vuelve importante a una escala aún mayor.
Y si estamos hablando de Oscar Niemeyer es algo que los aficionados a la arquitectura y al arte deben celebrar.
Pues resulta que esto es lo que ha ocurrido en un lugar tan bonito como Avilés, la pequeña ciudad asturiana donde ya podemos visitar el Centro Niemeyer, una de las creaciones arquitectónicas más hermosas y sorprendentes que he visto nunca, la primera obra del creador de Brasilia construida en España y la más importante que se puede ver en toda Europa.
Os aseguro que era la primera vez que lo veía acabado y además con ese amanecer por detrás de el, que me ha parecido un gran privilegio y que espero que al igual que yo lo he disfrutado en ese momento a vosotros os agrade al verlo en estas tomas.
Os recomiendo visitarlo
Y como siempre recomiendo verlo en grande y que todas las tomas se pueden ver en ese tamaño y comentarlas

La Ermita de El Rocío está situada en Almonte (Huelva). En ella se celebra anualmente la famosa Romería de El Rocío. Actualmente congrega a más de un millón de personas. Dentro de la Ermita está la Virgen del Rocío, una pequeña talla muy venerada. Su popularidad es grande en todo el mundo, ya que su veneración ha dado lugar a la romería más importante de España.

Molti di noi dovrebbero ascoltare quello che ha detto.
Non so perchè noi procrastiniamo le cose, ma se dovessi indovinarlo direi che ha molto a che fare con la paura, paura del fallimento, paura del dolore, paura del rifiuto.
Talvolta la paura è solo quella di prendere una decisione, perchè se ti fossi sbagliato, se stessi facendo uno sbaglio irrimediabile? E nel momento in cui il dolore di non fare una cosa diventa più forte della paura di farla? Come funziona?
L’uccellino mattiniero acchiappa il verme...chi ha tempo non aspetti tempo...colui che esita è perduto!
Non possiamo far finta che non ci sia stato detto, abbiamo sentito i proverbi, abbiamo sentito i filosofi, abbiamo sentito i nostri nonni che ci ammonivano sullo spreco del tempo, abbiamo sentito i poeti maledetti che ci spingevano a prendere al volo il momento.
Dobbiamo compiere i nostri errori, dobbiamo imparare sulla nostra pelle. Dobbiamo spazzare le possibilità dell’oggi sotto il tappeto del domani, fino a che non potremo più farlo, fino a che finalmente non comprenderemo da soli quello che voleva dire Benjamin Frenklin.
Cercare risposte è meglio che farsi domande, stare svegli è meglio che dormire, e anche il più terribile fallimento, anche il peggiore, il più irrimediabile degli errori è di gran lunga preferibile a non averci provato"
