Plankton had the opportunity to play tourist for a day ... and good thing Plankton is on this side of the glass since he is a primary food source for jellyfish!! Plankton and I made quite a 'splash' setting this shot up at the Monterey Aquarium!! I was inspired by the silhouetted children!
Thanks to all for your wonderful well wishes for my new job!!

Widepolle, Barle valley Exmoor;
On a bright & misty morning, the 19th November 2004. I drove down to Tarr Steps with Rintin. It was quiet & peaceful; a respite from the two fiery arguements at the crack of dawn.
On the front cover of the Guardian, an open letter from a U.S war correspodent. A whistle blower; he had witnessed the cold blooded murder of an elderly Iraqi citizen. Shot by U.S forces as he lay unarmed & sleeping on the floor.
Rintin had vanished, she had been sitting outside as I read; with the car door open. She had barely reached a year, born stone deaf & followed me like a shadow.
After walking awhile across the open moor, a lady explained she saw Rintin crossing the river Tarr, heading west following two walkers. Some desperate 13 hours later of searching, I drove again to the steps & from a hill I began to flash the car lights over the moor in the same way I would call her home on the farm. In under an hour Rintin came back & met me at the steps across the Tarr.
We had only driven a mile or so when the car ran out of petrol. It was less than 10 miles to walk home & even at midnight it was not so cold. It was good to have her at my side.
We reached this bridge at Widepolle after seven miles. Our lives were about to change forever. We crossed the bridge, passed the old inn, & began to take the deathly quiet winding lane, that lead to home. There I came upon two men, both tall & thick set. They called out softly. Their car was parked a few metres behind them, with the lights & engine off. Indeed our lives changed forever, halfway down that pitch black road. I cannot say why life turns a cruel page for you sometimes.
in July this year I returned with Rintin & visited the things we never meant to leave behind.

First advent - I hope you are all well. I wish you a contemplative Advent. Try to protect you as much as possible from the hectic season.
I saw one of these insects at Lake Lotus Park yesterday. I tried to get some flight shots but they didn't turn out as well as this one that I took at Maitland Community Park this spring.

Velenje has three lakes, which are Lake Velenje, Lake Skale and Lake Druzmir. Lake Velenje is the largest in the valley. It is a nice place for walking, cycling, jogging and doing other activities. Here are also restaurants with good food. In the nearness is a camp. Due to excavation of lignite coal caused the lake. Among them is the largest lake Velenje, which primero also for the implementation of the various sporting activities. Thus, it can be given to the lake with a sailboat, sailing board or board, and the parachute. Funny is also run by canoes and pedelini.
Velenje lake is located in northern Slovenia. You don't find many tourist here but for the locals it's a great place for relaxation. A natural setting where you can spot the Sunfish and enjoying the lush natural beauty.
The Šaleška Valley boasts the largest Slovenian coalmine and the biggest Slovenian thermo power plant. The lignite mining industry in the area contributed to the expansion of the town, especially after World War II. Many people see it simply as an industrial region, but you will be very surprised, when you discover the magnificent blue lakes and wonder underground to discover the thickest layers of coal the Coal mining museum in Velenje.
I really enjoyed this amiable chap ... out hiking in this beautiful forest.
I hope everyone had a wonderful turkey day!! Stay out of them stores today, and go hiking instead!!

In astronomy, the Pleiades, or Seven Sisters (Messier object 45), is an open star cluster containing middle-aged hot B-type stars located in the constellation of Taurus. It is among the nearest star clusters to Earth and is the cluster most obvious to the naked eye in the night sky. Pleiades has several meanings in different cultures and traditions.
The cluster is dominated by hot blue and extremely luminous stars that have formed within the last 100 million years. Dust that forms a faint reflection nebulosity around the brightest stars was thought at first to be left over from the formation of the cluster (hence the alternate name Maia Nebula after the star Maia), but is now known to be an unrelated dust cloud in the interstellar medium that the stars are currently passing through. Astronomers estimate that the cluster will survive for about another 250 million years, after which it will disperse due to gravitational interactions with its galactic neighborhood.

I always love a symmetrical shot but rarely process one just for the fun of it :) The original shot for this is so-so & looks rather boring to me therefore this is one great chance to do a flip for a more visual impact. Bet you guys can't really tell the difference rite even tho i've left some parts the way it is so you can see :D

Me dijo ''tengo frío, acércame calor'',
(Silvio Rodriguez)
Starry night sky and the northern tail of the Milky Way over Castle Rock, a sandstone monument in Castle Valley, Utah (about 16 miles northeast of Moab). There are "notes" on the above photo outlining the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) and the Double Cluster. The top portion of this light-painted monument is called Castleton Tower -- a 400-foot (120 m) sandstone tower standing on a 1,000 foot talus cone, rising a total of 1,400 feet (427 m) above the valley.
Light Painting the 'Rock': My son, Chris, assisted me on this photo shoot. He climbed to a bluff 2,000 feet (610 m) to the left of me and painted the monument and tower with a 2-million candle power halogen spotlight. We synchronized his 15 seconds of painting and my 15 seconds of camera exposure time via two-way radios. We were both about 4,750 feet (1,448 m) from the center of the monument (see these 2 photo maps). I used an EF 24mm f1.4L II lens on a Canon 5D Mk2, exposing for 15 seconds @ f2.0, ISO 5000. Here is additional information about how I photograph these "NightScapes".
My new ebook, Milky Way NightScapes, gives extensive details on how to enhance the landscape foreground. Three other chapters cover planning, scouting, forecasting star/landscape alignment, shooting and post processing.
