The above photo is the vegetable field I've seen many times when I go to work out of Bangkok. There was a man working in the field while I took this shot. The place is in Pathum Thani near Bangkok.:)

The spectacular Quiraing on the Isle of Skye gives us a classic hill-walk. This circuit heads out above the escarpment and returns along its base. A beautiful hill-walk of 4 hours at the Trotternish. After a hour of climbing the path leads to the edge of the cliffs above the Quiraing. These two climbers head off left and climb steeply up the grassy hillside. The slope briefly relents by a grass-grown drystone dyke. This soon leads to the edge of the cliffs above the Quiraing, with spectacular views looking down. The outlook across the sea and Staffin Bay to the Torridon mountains is equally magnificent. Please have a look at the map. Despite the rain we continued walking.
Two climbers heading for the cliffs above the Quiraing located at the Trotternish on the Isle of Skye - Scotland.

Spring grows in all shapes and colours.
A small pink tree blossom from my quick outing this afternoon.
It's always great to see the Spring season in full action like it's been in the last week, and these blossoms are the type of little things I like to capture during the Bloom & Bug months.

Eilean Donan, Scottish Gaelic for Island of Donan, is a small island in Loch Duich in the western Highlands of Scotland. It is connected to the mainland by a footbridge and lies about half a mile from the village of Dornie. Eilean Donan is named after St Donan, a Celtic saint martyred in the Dark Ages. The original castle was built in 1220 for Alexander II as a defence against the Vikings. This century it has become one of Scotland most photographed castles thanks to its picturesque setting on an islet in Loch Duich by the main road to the Isle of Skye. In 1984 it featured in the movie Highlander with Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery.
We just got back from our holiday from Scotland. Despite the rain, rain and rain we had a great holiday. We visit the two cities Edinburgh, Glasgow and went hiking in the Highlands of Scotland on the beautiful isle of Skye. We all go soaking wet everyday but our fireplace at our cottage and Scottish Whiskey kept me warm. Many new photos but have to finish my photo book too ;-) Above photo taken on our way the Isle of Skye. The famous Eilean Donan castle captured just before the start of heavy rain fall.

These wonderful big birds – Canada Geese, that we Canadian call Loons -- fly those great distances and are now back. Usually the loons stop-over the lake on there way further North. Last few weeks the sky is full of them. They make a big racket as they fly and when they fly low over your head, you can hear the air streaming under there wings. A wonderful, uplifting sight, to watch and hear.
This flock stayed over night on the lake and left toward the rising sun as I was going out at 5:45 am. Never the less I like the effect of the view through the trees. Hope you like it too :)

Here's a photograph of my horse "Sam". He is around 21 years old now.. and still just as handsome! No one has ridden him in over 10 years and he is quite content at being a "pasture pet". He has a wonderful personality and loves apples, pears and carrots... of course.
Notice the beautiful dogwood blossoms in the background. They have been gorgeous this spring... pure and white.
Thank you so much for your visits to my stream. I have been so busy the past few days and have gotten behind on my comments. I am blessed to have such wonderful, loyal friends...like YOU!

Tanah Lot Temple, Bali, Indonesia
Pura Tanah Lot (Tanah Lot Temple) is Hindu Temple.
Located about 20 km from Denpasar, the temple sits on a huge offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide.
Tanah Lot means "Land in the Middle of the Sea" (in Balinese language) is a famous rock formation off the Indonesian island of Bali.
Note: It is a fantastic place to view beautiful dramatic sunsets. Every day at dusk, tourists throng the area to witness the magnificent silhouette of the temple against the glowing horizon.
Happy Sunday Every One =)

National Parks are extensive nature areas with important natural assets and many opportunities to enjoy them. The Dunes on Texel completely satisfy these criteria. The main part of the Slufter is a wide dune valley which has a open connection to the North Sea though a hole in the outer dunes. At high tide seawater streams into the Slufter though creeks an at low tide it streams out again. The large Slufterckreek at the beach, were the water most the times comes through, over time the creek has moved in a northern direction. Because this creek was heavily damaging the dunes on the northern side in May 2004 intervention was needed. A new creek was constructed on the far most southern part of the Slufter. Each of the terrains within the National Park has its own characteristic flora. In the dune-slacks, uncommon vegetation can be found. The age of the dunes also influences the vegetation. The young dunes close to the waterfront contain proportionally more lime. The older dunes lying more inland have a lime deficiency. The lime dissolves in the rainwater and sinks to the bottom. Various types of heather grow well here. The extensive nature area of the Slufter is an exceptional place.
Photo taken in the Dunes of Texel National Park. The wind was blowing hard, got sand in my eyes but the effect was beautiful. The moon is a composite which makes it a shot from another planet.

I dedicate this image to my father, who has been the light of my professional life.
Who can give the sun, the permission to shine. Not even the darkest of clouds can hide the brilliance radiating out of the heart of our Solar System. Such is its power.
In the same way, who can hide the brilliance of the light in our heart. No matter how strongly the mind and its patterns cloud it, the brilliant jewel will continue to shine. So connect with the wind, and blow away the clouds. Let the sun in your heart shine through.

While I was in visiting War Eagle Mills & Farm in NW Arkansas, I could see where the road disappeared through some trees and over the hill. I just couldn't resist attempting to capture what I was seeing. After I finished with shooting by the bridge, I jumped in the rental car and drove up the road a few hundred feet and then parked on the side of road...stepped out and walked into the center...and then snapped a few off. With some minor alterations of the lighting with my ReDynamix plug-in in Photoshop, I've been able to recapture the incredible scene that I experienced while standing in the middle of that rural road.

HAPPY TAMIL NEW YEARS DAY.
This confirms my view that the way we periceive things is highly subjective.
While we look at it as a beautiful Lotus bud, the dragon fly here looks at it as a mere landing pad before it goes on to its next location.
While I was focussing on photographing this bud, this dragonfly just popped into the frame and landed on it. I clicked a couple of shots and called out to my photography partner Prabhakaran to ask him to shoot some...but it was too late. The dragon fly had flown away.
Sometimes the angel of luck is by your side. You just have to thank her, and wish that she visits you once again.
Photographed with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, and Canon EF 70-200mm F2.8 IS USM L Lens and Canon EF 2X Extender. Handheld. Again a lot of you may think its a macro shot done with a macro lens. It was shot from about 10 feet away from the subject, at 400mm.

WOW. Just...wow. I have made it 365 days. And yes, I am going to say all of the cliched things that people say about 365. I started out a year ago to challenge myself to commit to something, to finish it, and--on the way--gain a better self-image after a quarter-life crisis left me in a bit of a bad state mentally.
All of this was wildly successful. I have learned so much about myself, and photography, and about myself as I relate to photography. I now not only know that I've found my calling in life, but I know that I am still beautiful (my perspective only, of course) as I get older. I learned so much technically about photography from all of you wonderful people--and your support has been AMAZING. This was not meant to be an ego-stroking adventure but you all gave me so many lovely comments, favs & encouragement.
I am not going to do another 365 of portraits--at least not for a while--and I am going to celebrate this milestone by taking a bit of a well-deserved Flickr vacation. Not a total break from it, but I will be posting less for a while, and spending time with the family that I neglected so severely over the past year in order to make this happen.
So again--THANK YOU to everyone. I could not have done this without you and I am not going away. Happy Easter and have a drink for me, wherever you are tonight! I will be having some in your honor as well. ;-)

What? Did you actually think I would leave Austria without showing you the capital?
Welcome to Vienna, Austria. The 10th largest city by population in the European Union and one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It was ranked #1 (tied with Vancouver) among 127 cities for overall quality of life in a 2005 study.
This is a photograph of The Upper Belvedere. A baroque palace that was built between 1720-1723. Belvedere is a palace complex built by Prince Eugene of Savoy just south-east of the historic city center of Vienna.
Although it was raining when we visited Laurie and I still had a wonderful time exploring the complex. There is a magnificent garden with plenty of fountains just behind this building, that I wish the whole world could see. The gardens were designed by Dominique Girard who trained in the gardens of Versailles as a young student.
I hope you enjoy the majestic view and have yourselves a great weekend!
I will be catching up with all your streams tonight, see you on Monday!
