Ninna nanna o mio tesoro
Dormi, dormi mio bambino
fior di pesco e mughettino,
dormi qui nel tuo lettino
e sarò a te sempre vicino.
Sogna un mondo colorato,
dormi bene mio adorato.
Tra le braccia di papà
che mai più ti lascerà.
Dormi bene mio bambino
che il mattino è già vicino,
porta tante cose belle
fiori, stelle e caramelle.
Questi versi son un girotondo
da ballare tutti intorno,
Ninna nanna, ninna ho
t’amo tanto o mio tesoro.

Lullaby oh my darling
Sleep, sleep my baby
peach blossom and mughettino,
Here you sleep on your couch
and I was always close to you.
Dreams of a colorful world,
sleep well my beloved.
The arms of Dad
that never leave you.
Sleep tight my baby
the morning is already near,
brings so many beautiful things
flowers, stars and candy.
These verses are a ring
to dance all around,
Lullaby, lullaby I
I love you so much oh my darling.

Sonnets from The Portuguese - XLIII
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, --- I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! --- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

St Mawes is a lovely little town in Cornwall, opposite Falmouth. It lies on the east bank of the Carrick Roads, a large waterway created after the Ice Age from an ancient valley which flooded as the melt waters caused the sea level to rise dramatically, creating an immense natural harbour, often claimed to be the third largest in the world.
St. Mawes has a lovely festival in August every year where they light up the town and have music, local events etc. I was on the pier that evening and shot this, which came out remarkably well considering I'd only just had this camera for a few days and hadn't shot anything in literally 20 years!
I'd thoroughly recommend this town for an afternoon's stroll if you're down in Cornwall for the Summer holidays - the icecream shop is to die for and my kids love crabbing off the pier in the early evening.
From a technical perspective this photo came out nicely - I shot at night just as dusk was falling so I managed to retain some of that blue graduation in the sky and on the reflection, which is rather nice. The boats in the foreground make the picture really - a perfectly tranquil scene in a gorgeous Cornish town.

I first would like to say thanks to Aaron M. for getting my Timberland boot out of the mud that was like quick sand. Aaron, just make sure you don't tell anyone that I had to drive home in my ballerina tights.
Also to all the photographers that were at Badwater this morning, the guy that was all the way out in the middle of the salt flats, in the water, that was me. So if I was in any of your frames, I do apologize, but the early bird catches the worm!
The title of the image speaks for itself. The salt flats were under water. The further I went out the deeper the water got. It was strange, but it was pretty cool seeing water out there. And a rare sight also.
Oh, and before I forget, to my co-worker Jim R., you missed out on an amazing sunrise, so I hope that Sizzler dinner you had last night was good!

Vampires are mythological or folkloric beings who subsist by feeding on the life essence (generally in the form of blood) of living creatures, regardless of whether they are undead or a living person. In folkloric tales, vampires often visited loved ones and caused mischief or deaths in the neighbourhoods they inhabited when they were alive. They wore shrouds and were often described as bloated and of ruddy or dark countenance. This is markedly different from modern fictional portrayals of gaunt, pale vampires beginning in the early 19th century. Although vampiric entities have been recorded in many cultures and according to speculation by literary historian Brian Frost that the "belief in vampires and bloodsucking demons is as old as man himself", and may go back to "prehistoric times", the term vampire was not popularized until the early 18th century, after an influx of vampire superstition into Western Europe from areas where vampire legends were frequent, such as the Balkans and Eastern Europe, although local variants were also known by different names, such as vampir (вампир) in Serbia and Bulgaria, vrykolakas in Greece and strigoi in Romania. This increased level of vampire superstition in Europe led to mass hysteria and in some cases resulted in corpses actually being staked and people being accused of vampirism.

Went on a little photowalk downtown last Thursday and got some pretty cool shots! This is the front of the Steel Building in downtown Pittsburgh. I have a few other shots of this building, but I never was able to get the front!
This was actually taken during rush hour, but I was able to get my 7 exposures with only a few people in in that I was able to clone out.
Thanks for stopping by my friends!
I don't mind invitations, but please no big, shiny, flashing, glitter graphics, they will be deleted. Thanks!

Panorama Shot of the Manhattan Bridge shot from the Brooklyn Bridge
Looks way better this way
Info
The Manhattan Bridge is a suspension bridge that crosses the East River in New York City, connecting Lower Manhattan (at Canal Street) with Brooklyn (at Flatbush Avenue Extension) on Long Island. It was the last of the three suspension bridges built across the lower East River, following the Brooklyn and the Williamsburg bridges. The bridge was opened to traffic on December 31, 1909 and was designed by Leon Moisseiff, who later designed the infamous original Tacoma Narrows Bridge that opened and collapsed in 1940. It has four vehicle lanes on the upper level (split between two roadways). The lower level has three lanes, four subway tracks, a walkway and a bikeway. The upper level, originally used for streetcars, has two lanes in each direction, and the lower level is one-way and has three lanes in peak direction. It once carried New York State Route 27 and later was planned to carry Interstate 478. No tolls are charged for motor vehicles to use the Manhattan Bridge.
The original pedestrian walkway on the south side of the bridge was reopened after sixty years in June 2001. It was also used by bicycles until late summer 2004, when a dedicated bicycle path was opened on the north side of the bridge, and again in 2007 while the bike lane was used for truck access during repairs to the lower motor roadway.
* Main span: 1,470 ft (448 m)
* Length of suspension cables: 3224 ft (983 m)
* Total length: 6,855 ft (2,089 m)
The neighborhood near the bridge on the Brooklyn side, once known as Fulton Landing has been gentrified and is called DUMBO, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass.

San Diego (pronounced /ˌsæn diːˈeɪɡoʊ/), named after Saint Didacus (Spanish: Diego de Alcalá), is the eighth-largest city in the United States and second-largest city in California, after Los Angeles, with a population of 1,306,300 (Jan 2010) within its administrative limits on a land area of 372.1 square miles (963.7 km2). The city is located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Southern California. The urban area of San Diego extends beyond the administrative city limits with a population of 2,880,000. San Diego is also the county seat of San Diego County[2], the 5th largest county, by population, in the United States.
The city is the economic center of the San Diego–Carlsbad–San Marcos Metropolitan Area considered congruent with the county. The city was rated the fifth-best place to live in the United States in 2006 by Money magazine.[3] According to Forbes magazine, San Diego is the fifth-wealthiest city in the United States and the 9th safest city in the top 10 list of safest cities in the U.S.[4] San Diego's top four industries are manufacturing, defense, tourism, and agriculture.[5] San Diego's economy is largely composed of agriculture, biotechnology/biosciences, computer sciences, electronics manufacturing, defense-related manufacturing, financial and business services, ship repair, ship construction, software development, telecommunications, wireless research, and tourism. The presence of the University of California, San Diego, (UCSD) with the affiliated UCSD Medical Center promotes research in biotechnology.[6] San Diego is also designated as an iHub Innovation Center by Gov. Schwarzenegger’s Office of Economic Development.[7][8]

I know I have lots of similar shots in my stream, but for this one I woke up at 3:00 am, drove 200 kms to Fujairah on the east coast of the UAE to find a good spot for sunrise.
Therefore I decided to post it for all my efforts! ;-)
Vertorama, Digital Blending (3 exposures for the half bottom, one for the sky), ND400 filter. The rocks and the sun are from exposures without the ND400 filter.
I was starting to get cold after seeing so many winter photos, so I decided that we all could use some warmth these days.
I made this shot during my South East Asia travels. This shot was made in Thailand on the island of Ko Samet.
Koh Samed is one of the Eastern Seaboard Islands of Thailand. It is located in the Gulf of Thailand it’s approximately 220 kilometers (140 mi) southeast of Bangkok. Ko Samet is the largest and westernmost of a cluster of islands not far from the coast.
The island derives its name from the cajeput tree found throughout the island, as the Thai language word for cajeput is samet. In the past, this island has also been referred to by its colloquial name, Ko Kaew Phitsadan.
Technique:
1/160 exposure
f/8.0
ISO 100

I focused on the person to get a sharp silhouette and set the aperture on f/8.0 to get as much details on the fire as possible. The longer I look at the fire the more things I’ am starting to see.
So let you imagination run wild.

Picasso and Braque which created "Cubism"!!.
The trial of their beginning.
A desire that the invisible side wants to watch it.
They took in multiple viewpoints in a picture.
I respect them.
I tried their imitation without using the composition processing.
I added one new work to conventional technique.
The camera turns to the ground first.
The LED lights up the front of the flower.
I point a camera to the sky next.
The LED lights up the back of the flower.
I focus on the stars and change a position of Aperture ring from F22 to F2.8.
The Milky Way exposes it afterwards for 60 seconds.
This shot may resemble early Cubism.
Perhaps this photograph resembles still life of the Cezanne.
He told a lie with the picture of the apple a little.
How do you think of this technique?.
Will this be composition processing? .

Attempting to capture an image that has been taken so many millions of times, takes a lot of thought and preparation. Reaching this area on the Marin Headlands, is not the difficult part; however adding my personal touch was somewhat harder.
Observing for about an hour before shooting, I noticed a couple of fairly large boats pass under the bridge. My thought was that if a boat or ship would pass through the frame at the right moment, it would create a motion of the water. This in-turn would cause the light reflection of the bridge to move in the water, and thus spreading the glow and reflection out just far enough to be a defining part of the image.
Well, about 30 minutes after sunset, it happened. Combined with a 30 second exposure, this was the result.
While, I didn't get much sleep bundled up in my vehicle that night, I really enjoyed this experience, and am looking forward to returning to the area with the hope of capturing more of it's beauty.
