I'd just said goodbye to Many when I spotted Lucy walking towards me. I really loved her light blue dress and massive handbag and decided that this time a diptych would have to be in order. Ideally I'd have liked to have been able to exclude her lunch from the picture but I certainly wouldn't put down MY food anywhere on the streets in London so didn't suggest it here.
I moved her to a reasonable spot and posed her the way I wanted and then snapped off a couple of frames. It was enormously difficult on this glorious sunny day to find a spot where the light was decent and there were no blown out backgrounds. I think I managed to make do here under difficult circumstances.
Most of the stranger shooting that I do these days is during my lunch hour or straight after work, when I'm on my way home. I find that my subjects, while happy to pose, are not keen to spend their time chatting and are anxious to get on. Mandy was no exception and the hot food in her hand was the most likely reason. So I explained when the picture would be posted and where, gave her my card said cheers.

De avant-gardistische stroomlijnvorm van de Tatra 87 doet ietwat aan een insect denken, zeker door de grote vin achterop. Kenmerkend voor het Tatra-ontwerp zijn de drie koplampen. Mede dankzij de lage luchtweerstandcoëfficiënt (Cw-waarde) van 0,36 kan de drieliter V8-motor de auto voorstuwen naar een snelheid van 150 km/u. Dan wordt het echter wel gevaarlijk, want juist door de plaatsing van de zware motor achterin is de auto moeilijk hanteerbaar.
De Oostenrijkse ingenieur Hans Ledwinka treedt in 1921 in dienst als technisch directeur bij het Tsjechische Tatra. Hij is de uitvinder van het ruggengraatchassis en ontwikkelt aërodynamische ontwerpen voor automobielen. Het ontwerp van deze Tatra dateert al van voor de oorlog. Omdat Hans Ledwinka en Ferdinand Porsche goede collega’s zijn, vermoedt Tatra dat Porsche zijn ontwerp van de Volkswagen Kever van hen heeft gekopieerd en spant een rechtszaak aan, maar deze wordt onderbroken door de oorlog. Later erkent Volkswagen echter de invloed van Tatra.
Een Tatra 87 was in 2006 te zien op een tentoonstelling over modernisme in het Victoria & Albert Museum in Londen.

OH HI GUYS. You may have been wondering why I haven't posted any photos for the past few days. Since last Thursday, to be exact. There's kind of no good reason for it other than the fact that I was feeling really lazy this weekend. School just started, so if I miss a day here or there, meh. It happens. Anyway, instead of tacking on days to the end of the year I'm going to be double-posting until I'm caught up.
You might also be wondering why I used a photo from day 61. Today's picture is kind of less about the photograph and more about the post-processing that went into making this. I feel like you need to see the original to appreciate this, so I'll post it in the comments.
