Major John T. Berry at Cromore, shortly before his transfer to the 1st Battalion, 504th PIR. He was later to jump in the Netherlands as a Major, XO of the 1st Battalion, 504th PIR and was eventually promoted to Lt Col, in command of the Battalion.

Afghanistan Day 2:

Rodney Atkins, Country music singer - song writer, on tour with the USO in the Middle East, visiting several countries to help entertain the troops serving there.

Later the same evening of their arrival, they visit the 508th Military Police Battalion Fire and Rescue Department located at the Camp Sabalu-Harrison prison on base, where they perform an acoustical show for the staff and firemen on this remote part of the base.

That performance is being recorded on cell phones of their audience.

But the “win in 2028” network isn’t in a lab somewhere under development. Pieces of it are in the field already, being tested and used. The approach is incremental: Add something new, let Soldiers test it—the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Regiment (1/508 PIR) of the 82nd Airborne Division just tested a new combination of network components, some commercial, some government —fix, repeat.
