The Pagodas at the "Atomic Weapons Research Establishment" were built in 1960 to carry out vibration tests to the WE177 bombs, and possibly the Polaris warheads. In the event of a mishap or explosion the struts holding the roof were designed to collapse and the roof would then fall and seal the test chamber keeping flying debris contained. To the left of the Pagoda in the distance the control room and fire station can be seen

part of my GCSE photography on the theme "caged".

I would like to apologise for the lack of a proper thought-out and taken photo. The only time I can do that (as I normally like to take my photos outside) is, during the winter in the UK where it's raining continuously, the weekend.

This weekend was my 16th birthday party. It was a brilliant night with my 13 best friends where we made a HUGE amount of curry and ate it, had indoor fireworks and sparklers and ate malteser cake, had a paper aeroplane competition, danced in our cellar to songs from 10 years ago, played truth or dare up until the late hours of the morning, and played with fire outside.

It was absolutely amazing and I'm not going to forget it ever.

(So that's the reason for my lack of a proper photo. Make do with this, I still quite like it!)

Thoughts? Seeing as I might do this for my exam!

(I printed the images then scratched them with a compass, then scanned. Apologies for the bad scanner)

Zoey rolling in style up in CT at the Dubs on Defrost car show (the show was over to the left, we had taken a walk towards the water).

D700, 17-35mm f/2.8 @ 20mm, f/4, iso 400, with an ND1.2 4 stop filter and a CP filter stacked on top of that (I was experimenting, it was a bit too much but I just wanted to try).

Today was fantastic. My roomate and I went to Cirque Du Soleil. We somehow managed to get VIP passes to the Tapis Rouge @ the show. Drinking champaign at noon and eating fancy finger foods was an interesting change of pace for me lol. Needless to say I was already hungover by the time I made it home... What better time to do a self portrait. day 4, yay.

Kiev 4 un-metered,

….NO, the "Royal Palm" was getting the royal shaft here (and I was getting a royal treat), as three of Southern's SD45's (3159-3149-3107) lead a southbound freight by northbound #4 by the depot. I might add that the freight went by "at a high rate" as one of our Wisconsin Central conductors would say, and since my parents' Konica rangefinder camera had a top shutter speed of 1/125 of a second, the speed effect is obvious. By the way, that second unit, SR3149, became Wisconsin Central 6577, and this 18-year-old had NO idea the encounters we would have again many years later!

Sorta creepy...but none of my other 52 weeks plans actually happened. This week I hope to try again. I know I'm being vauge, but you know...gotta keep up the suspense!

Today...I don't even know how I'm functioning. One of my friends slept over last night and we talked until the sun came up, resulting in 3 1/2 hours of sleep. Church this morning, and then we had other friends over for lunch, and then we had a church skating party on the backyard lake/pond, THEN we had shooting for an independent movie my friends and I are writing and making, which just ended at midnight. I am INSANE!!! I am emotionally and physically drained...and tomorrow morning I have a dentist appointment for a filling.

So this is when I realized I didn't "really" take a 52 weeks shot this week. I took this on Monday though...so here I am, creepy morning face and all.

Crosfields Crossing box viewed from the pipe bridge above the crossing.

A LNW type 4 box built early in the last century it has survived in excess of one hundred years but has now signalled it’s last train.

Here the signaller was busying himself tidying the box.

The roof of Bank Quay station can be spotted in the distance but the foreground is dominated by the Crosfields plant after which the box is named, now owned by Lever Brothers I’m lead to believe the ageing and sprawling industrial site produces soap powder but I stand to be corrected.

Times are a changing at Warrington.

Over a distance of just 68 chains (0.85 of a mile) from Arpley Junction to Monks Sidings four signal boxes controlled trains on the Low Level line from Arpley Junction to Ditton East Junction.

Four absolute block boxes, Arpley Junction, Crosfields Crossing, Littons Mill and Monks Siding provided a taste of railways of old. Leaving Arpley Junction the line passes under the WCML and Warrington Bank Quay station before emerging surrounded by industry in the midst of Lever Brothers massive soap powder works. Crosfields Crossing is just 726 yards from Arpley but then only a further 220 yards, an eighth of a mile no less, is Littons Mill, another crossing box, a further 550 yards beyond that is Monks Crossing, again a crossing box and once access to a former British Steel works site.

This short section of track is to be re-signalled and this is actually happening this week. The new signalling will utilise track circuit block between Arpley Junction and Littons Mill using axle counters.

This is a series of photos aimed at recording the signalling of this section of track which has now passed into history.

Converted one of my A12 backs into 4.5x6 format...

My first tangle let loose in the wild...

I think the inspiration for this very simple tangle came from looking at stick figure comics, believe it or not.. It starts simply with two crossed lines, perpendicular to each other, then add circles to each end (the stick figure head), two dots for eyes, antennae, and then what the Zentangle folks call "auras" or outlines around the shape.. most of the time for this I use two of them. Placement? You can fill an entire area with these or use wide open spaces in between, or lay them out in a row, or overlap them here and there...

For an example of this in action see my blog post:

This is supposed to be a school assignment. Supposed to be an artifact for a imaginary person of a charity that encourages disabled children to read. I have never done a bookmark before, so didn't really know how to do it. I actually could have done it by photo manipulating but yeah I thought it would be better if I draw sth, since I'm not very good at computing (maybe I should have done photomanipulating, my drawings suck too T__T)

And I haven't printed it out either, I seriously don't know whether it's gonna work or not. And I don't know how my lecturer will look at it, I know it doesn't look serious and good enough to be submitted but that's all I could do. Hope he's not gonna fail me T___________T

This was also shot with the Samyang 14mm and Lens Correction profile applied to it if you do a before and after comparison, you'll see the distortion correction has been applied.

Peter was hanging out of the window of a moving Southern EMU photographing a speeding 4-COR set in the opposite direction, using a basic camera, what could go wrong? The shot of 3120 forming a Victoria - Ramsgate service is a little unsharp and certainly grainy but it does show these early units in top condition with no yellow ends etc, date unknown, location unknown, probably even to Peter!
