Lately, I've felt pretty overwhelmed and lacking in my mothering skills...(among other things). So I planned this whole "woe is me" picture, set my daughter up with a snack and her bff Abby Cadabby, and started snapping a' la my brand new tripod and remote. Yeah... she kept busting in wanting to take "pitchas" and climb all over me. Sadly, my first reaction was frustration and annoyance until I realized the irony in the situation and just started playing with her. I gave her Super Grover rides till my arms burned, tickled, cuddled, sang, and got covered in goldfish flavored kisses! (Yep, I'm crafty and kept the remote in my right hand though.) Anyway, somewhere in there, I had a very emotional realization that SHE doesn't notice any of the things that I beat myself up about...all of my imperfections. For a few short blinks of an eye in her life I am a perfect mommy. The mommy she runs to when she's hurt, sleeps on when she's sick, bites when she's overly tired, bear hugs when she's gratefully happy, high-fives when she's proud of herself, and takes by the hand to "come on, mommy" wherever we go. Right now, I'm the only person on earth with this awesome stuff called make-up, who knows her tickliest of tickle spots, and miraculously can "pee pee potty, Big Girl potty!" I know one day soon she'll lose those rose colored glasses but, until then, I'm going to stock up on these magical moments and focus less on my own imperfections and more on the perfect moments themselves.

And here are the pictures of my next video!! A bonus with Kensi anyway because even if it will not appear in the video (since its custos are completed) I put it here! ^o^ Give me your opinion on my 4 dolls over! :D

The Bahamas Society used to be based at the Dinting Great Central shed alongside the Great Central Railway (Woodhead route) in the late 1960s into the 1970's.

The railway centre expanded from the original Great Central shed & built a large modern extension but was forced to close in the 1980s for some obscure reason related to the rental of the site.

I remember as a kid spending many hours at this museum which used to be the home of the 532 Blue Peter. Visiting it now it is hard to picture how it used to be. A search on Flickr will bring up many images. As far as I know the land has been sold on for property development so i am not sure for how long this magnificent piece of local railway history will be around.

My main story about the event.

All my photos (and more stories) from the day.

Longer story of this image:

I started walking pretty quickly on this one. I thought it would be pretty easy to find 9 of something I could use in trash bins or piles somewhere around. I walked down the back alleys of The Drive, and found them generally a lot more pristine than I hoped. I mean, not as if I'd be eating off of them, but there was hardly any trash lying around except for the occasional cigarette butt or Starbucks cup. Most of the bins had chains and locks to prevent binners (and photographers) from rooting around. I started thinking about what other things I might be able to do.

Finally I came upon a nice-sized pile of discarded stuff -- books, clothes, furniture, and other junk. There was a pile of coat hangers from which I contemplated pulling out 9 and making a pile of my own. But as I was wondering whether I wanted to handle the stuff, I noticed that the sofa/loveseat thingie had cushions with 9 buttons. From there it was a simple matter of finding an angle that displayed them appropriately, while still making it clear this was rejected goods.

This shot didn't take me very long -- I got my shot at about :29 -- so I was able to grab some tacos for lunch and get back to home base in time for the next theme.

There are only a few ways to photograph this alley way empty; on championship weekend in New Orleans. Get up real early and hope. Or wait for the zombie apocalypse. I had to catch a cruise ship so I went with the former.

me: wearing my favorite t-shirt(s). back when i was still a freshman in college, i had the unfortunate habit of coming late to class due to...(i'm ashamed to say) spending too much time in picking which clothes to wear (because i had clothes and pants of various colors). to end the problem, i bought six t-shirt with the same design, the same color, and combined them with my batik pants (back when they were still presentable in public view. hihi). one shirt for each day, except (i don't have class in) sunday.

ps:

*friends of mine thought this was a freshmen class 2001 (of which i was) t-shirt. i told them it wasn't.

*they also often asked me: so what does the numbers represents? to which i answered: i don't know, you have to asked the guy who designed it or the factory that made it. hihi.

"Avoid tunnel vision, let the edges compete for attention in the frame." but not used.

Provavo rabbia, nausea.

The aquascape has been through a massive algae attack, but a 3 day blackout and the removing of some leaves seemed to solve the problem. Now it's running low-light (2x18 W, 6 hours a day) for a couple of weeks, and i also raised the amount of fertilizers. We'll see what happens...
