The tissue-thin carpaccio of kangaroo are adhered to the walls of this beautiful bowl with the help of painted lime caramel. Eucalyptus whipped cream anchors the bottom of the bowl, this dish is strewn with canteloupe and cucumber "noodels" and garnished with a dash of fenugreek.
Taste: This dish is the same "painted carpaccio" presentation from my first meal, which featured hamachi carpaccio. While the hamachi presentation was decidedly Japanese, this was decidedly Aussie. Silky tissue-thin carpaccio of kangaroo mixed in excellently with the floral semi-tart and sweet lime-caramel. I really enjoyed the combination - together with the woods-y perfume of the eucalpytus whipped cream. I only wish that I could taste the lime a tad more in the caramel. The strands of cucumber and canteloupe noodles added a refreshing melon taste. This sweet dish really benefited from the spicy kick from the orange-black pepper-infused drink pairing.

Today is the most beautiful day (as you can see on any webcam, such as www.valdisere.com/webcam/glacier-du-pisaillas/), but yesterday in the village was cloudy and dull, and lots of people used it to catch up on washing and admin.
Big mistake!
Because here's what those who did go up the mountains saw:
The 3rd grade at Leah’s school only has 3 classes, but almost all of the kids chose to join the orchestra. So it’s a big group. They did a great jobb.
A very productive day today. Don’t you just love a productive day?! Got it started with a lovely walk around our ‘block’ which is 3 miles, then spent a few hours sorting out a leaking roof, took all the Christmas decorations down, cleaned up, soothed our aching bones in the hot tub, made and ate dinner, then watched a film. ‘Fracture’ with Anthony Hopkins. Excellent twist! Oh, and got thrashed twice at Rummikub. Got to let him win sometimes!! ;) This photo is of our farmer neighbour’s ditch which he re-dug last November. I liked the lines!

Windsurfing in the Great Storm of 2014 off the coast at Aldingham in Cumbria. It was probably much rougher out of the sheltered area past Barrow.
