Flower buds of the hybrid Grevillea "Poorinda Blondie". "Poorinda" is an Aboriginal word meaning light.
None of the flowers have opened fully. The plant about 3m tall was covered in inflorescences of different ages. The shape of the flowers is typical of Grevilleas. However, the colour combination of orange and red in the flowers is unusual and gives the impression that they are brown when seen at a distance. Taken in full sunlight.

The Junkers Ju 52/3m (nicknamed Tante Ju ("Aunt Ju") and Iron Annie) is a transport aircraft that was designed and manufactured by German aviation company Junkers.
Development of the Ju 52 commenced during 1930, headed by German aeronautical engineer Ernst Zindel. The aircraft's design incorporated a corrugated duralumin metal skin as a strengthening measure, which was very unusual at the time. The Ju 52's maiden flight was performed on 13 October 1930. It was initially designed with a single engine, however, it was produced in quantity as a trimotor. The primary early production model, the Ju 52/3m, was principally operated as a 17-seat airliner or utility transport aircraft by various civil operators during the 1930s. Following the rise of Nazi Germany, thousands of Ju 52s were procured as a staple military transport of the nation. The Ju 52/3mg7e was the principal production model.
The Ju 52 was in production between 1931 and 1952. In a civilian role, it flew with over 12 airlines, including Swissair and Deutsche Luft Hansa, as both a passenger carrier and a freight hauler. In a military role, large numbers flew with the Luftwaffe, being deployed on virtually all fronts of the Second World War as a troop and cargo transport; it was also briefly used as a medium bomber. Additionally, the type was deployed by other nation's militaries in conflicts such as the Spanish Civil War, the Chaco War, and the Portuguese Colonial War. During the postwar era, the Ju 52 had a lengthy service life with numerous military and civilian operators; large numbers were still in use by the 1980s. Even in the 21st century, several aircraft have remained operational, typically used for purposes such as heritage aviation displays and aerial sightseeing.

The New England Southern Railroad is seen heading north through Canterbury, NH with 2 tank cars bound for 3M, the New England Southern's sole customer. Since the normal power was recently moved to Vermont, Pan Am Railways GP40 # 354 was leased for the trip, providing a rare opportunity to see Pan Am north of Concord.
The crew of Maryland & Delaware's Worton Turn has completed their work at Massey and will soon head west for Worton.

A dreary day so I decided to give the St Patrick's Day parade a miss and went for a walk to Proleek Domen, Co Louth
This impressive Proleek Portal Tomb is about 3m high and has a huge capstone weighing approximately 35 tons. Legend says anyone who can throw a pebble on its capstone so that it stays there will be married within a year!

Maryland & Delaware RS3m 1203 has dropped outbound interchange traffic for Delmarva Central in the small yard at Seaford, DE. The crew is preparing to grab inbound cars before returning to Federalsburg. A cluster of Perdue Agribusiness silos provide an appropriate backdrop for railroading on the Delmarva Peninsula.

Maryland & Delaware 1203 runs light from Federalsburg, MD to the DCR interchange at Seaford, DE. After a similar experience on the Batten Kill, I sensed a "light engine move" theme developing earlier this summer. The crew would thankfully return with loads for Dart Container.

Door werkzaamheden op de Betuweroute werden ICE's in het weekend van 29 en 30 juni 2019 omgeleid via Utrecht - Eindhoven - Venlo - Mönchengladbach. Een daarvan was ICE 156, die bereden met stel 4611 hier Hegelsom passeert.

Sometimes we lose context in our critiques and judge these vintage cameras like they are new models on the shelf. It shouldn’t matter now what the comparisons were between them 50 to 100 years ago, or how they may compare to cameras made today. Now they are all beautiful collector items and an important part of history!
