Ha! Was taking a pic of something else entirely but Simon's laptop was in the background! Not very inspiring but another busy day culminating in a long meeting tonight with the chap who is designing our extension. These things take a lot of chat!

I always see this as a residential speed limit. Used anywhere else... well, it's just too slow.

Beautiful old house in Newport, near Saffron Walden. It is close to the railway at Bridge End. It has the date 1692 over the door but dates from the 16th century. I have been lucky enough to go inside, when I visited the owner a few years ago. I am not surprised to find that it is a listed building. Grade II* which relates to particularly important buildings of more than special interest Apparently it used to be an inn and was known as the Kings Head and from 1692, when it was refurbished, The Crown Inn. Legend has it that Nell Gwyn stayed here to meet with with King Charles II when he stayed at nearby Audley End House (the property which he bought for £5 in 1668, for use when he visited Newmarket)!

My first real attempt at photographing lightning. I won't tell you how many shots it took to get this one. Let's just say that it was a lot.

The family reaction to the daffodils atop the capital square on State Street was priceless.

Aqui, ó.

Thirty Days of Thankfulness, Day 16: Thankful for rainy days. As long as I can spend most of them looking out at the rain through the window. The rain didn't last long yesterday morning, but it's back again today, on and off :)

The bright object on the left is Venus, and it rose with the moon early this morning. It was a little cloudy, but I waited long enough for them both to peek through. You also get a good view of some bright earthshine on the moon. Earthshine is caused by the reflection of sunlight from the Earth.

The self proclaimed "old man" watches over Fairchild Street, in the heart of Madison. Old man has called Madison home for the past thirty years, living above "The Frequency" he has enjoyed many a free show through the vibrations in the walls. On hot summer evenings he frequents the steps that many have photographed through the years, to look out and observe the end of a day in the city. With the recent reworkings of the sewer system on Fairchild as well as other outlying streets on the capitol square: Old man told me that the streets are now in the best shape in as long as he can remember. Many buildings have come and gone in thirty years, and seeing it all unfold on the isthmus is probably an awesome story just waiting to be told. We briefly discussed the water spout over Lake Monona last August, when I told him I took the photo that ran in the paper: he exclaimed he would find the article (to which I will autograph for him).

While this is not a conventional portrait (subject looking at the camera), I believe it captures the free spirit that he is. A warm breeze pushed the warm summer air down the street and with that we parted our ways, pleased at making a new friend upon a midsummer's night dream.

You're never too old for a bounce! Toby's space hopper has been a feature of our house for years - I swear it follows me around! It has been deflated as a punishment on numerous occasions but still comes bouncing back!

Day 300! So close now (thank goodness!!)

Edit - just noticed everyone else is on 299/366 today! Where have I gone wrong??

Ah - spotted it! Not too far back thankfully. Oh well - day 299 it is!

February 20, 2020

Another day off. Worked, read, napped, lunch at Wonderkid, made Vegan coconut lentil stew for dinner. Kristen came over. Halfway through the power went out for a minute, flickered for a bit then truly went out. Lit candles and ate dinner that way. Come to find out GSP chased a car in to the neighborhood who subsequently crashed, leading to the blackout, and ran off. There was a manhunt in our neighborhood and on my street, but they never found the driver. Exciting times in the neighborhood.

This morning the sunniest spot is on the window sill of my studio. Enjoying the sun and the opportunity to take a photo. 😀

Oh dear I'll have to clean the windows

In Between The Shadows

Era nominação do novo bisco do município e acompanhei papis e mamis na posse. Foi um evento legal e bem apreciado pelos devotos.

E enquanto tudo acontecia, eu me encantava tirando fotos da matriz.

Achei a luz verde dos refletores bem legal nas folhagens. rs
