Roomies!! About a month ago, my college roommate's husband contacted me, and we started plotting a surprise visit for her birthday. That visit happened today, and she was so surprised!! :D We had a blast hanging out, shopping, crafting, and just catching up! This pic is reminiscent of several of the pics we took together in college. Yay, roomies! :)
Starting a 365 project today, my birthday. Got that idea from my friend, Corinna Robinns, and thought it would be a great project for my 49th year. So, here it goes.
I had dinner tonight with a couple of girlfriends at a great little Asian restaurant we hadn't tried before. Wonderful food, amazing service. As we sat and ate, a steady line of customers came and the owner greeted each person by name. It was like eating in a warm cozy kitchen. Lovely way to celebrate. And these money cats were just too cute.
William with our friends' daughter, Isabelle at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum. This car was a concept car that looks kind of like an airplane. There were lots of pics, but this one was the clear winner for picture of the day.
大掃除的第一天，
光是家門口裡外那一堆東西，還有四片玻璃門、紗門、鐵捲門
就用掉了一個早上。
擦了灰塵、打了光的鋼琴，
連原本鋪在上面的布也站不住腳，一直滑下來。
如果我常在彈的話，我也會常擦，
不過現在主要在彈的是那個活在清朝，沒有衛生觀念的人。
〈魔衣櫥〉還在開頭，希望和平紀念日前能完成，
幾年前的〈魔龍訓練學院〉雖有主軸，不過打算重寫，
有很多地方的想法在我現在看來很怪異。
都是魔啊，十分有趣。這樣感覺我好迷信。
Through some interesting circumstances, I ended up in Biloxi, MS this weekend. For a guy that has only really lived in a major metropolitan area, grew up and lived in the north east, Biloxi is quite a worlds away.
I have never really spent much time in the South nor the deep South. It was quite an eye opening experience.
It just happened that while I was down there, the rodeo was in town and I got to see my first rodeo.

In the early days of eBay, I was able to buy most of my collection for a fair price. Pieces are from ~ 1958 to 1960.
Tomato-braised beans!
We had so many veggies from our veggie CSA, it was time to start clearing out the fridge. We had beans, onions, garlic, and basil, and The America's Test Kitchen cookbook delivered on a recipe to use all of that plus some canned tomatoes. This was a really delicious way of doing beans, and we will do it again. Shockingly, the beans were dark purple and white with purple flecks to start. The acidity of the tomatoes must have turned them green and more solid white. Either way, tasty!!
