This is my bi-weekly CSA that I get from Bewise farm, blackberries, lemons, carrots, parsnips, beets, lettuce, peas, avocadoes, and greens. Lovely!

Lonely Lunch

Every day at the studio, this gentleman sits at the café opposite and enjoys a glass of wine and some lunch alone... the girls told me he's widowed and he always sits alone. I'd noticed him on several occasions as he looked thoughtfully into the distance. In my romantic mind, I wonder if he carries on a tradition in memory of his late wife and sits contemplating their life before the cruelty of death forced them apart...

327.365 - November 23, 2013 - A large bulk of the pictures I take are taken through one of these two lenses. My work horses. So, today I give them the day off and let them be the subject for once!

Also participating with this picture in the Fotowedstrijd Nieuwegein 2011, for which I have titled this picture "Past Marketsquare", with the following explanation (in dutch):

"In deze foto heb ik geprobeerd de verleden tijd en vergankelijkheid van het (ondertussen gesloopte) Nieuwegeinse Marktplein vast te leggen. Door mezelf in de lucht te fotograferen wek ik de illusie van levitatie, wat de beweging en het "geest uit het verleden" gevoel in de foto benadrukt."

"Soft kitty, warm kitty

Little ball of fur

Happy kitty, sleepy kitty

Purr, purr, purr." :)

Day 363

Alex is building a pop can robot today. He puts a lot of effort it building things. I love the look on his face in this photo but I also thought it was awesome watching him use a screwdriver. The simple little things are wonderful sometimes!

i am trying to be better this year,

but it's so hard sometimes.

Starry Starry Night

After a day of exploration and investigating all the settings on my new camera with wonderful friend and mentor CJ, we went on a mission for some startrails.

This was my first attempt at night photography. Taken on Exmoor National Park between 11.30pm & 2am. This image is compiled from 63 layered images taken at 30 second intervals. Pretty pleased with the result! Will be giving this another go... Great learning curve!

Day 34 Darth Double Me Selfie

I figured today would be a good day to start my 365Project. Today is the first day that I've felt 'good' in so long, that I can't even remember the last day I felt 'good'.

On Friday, October 2nd, I had a huge cyst removed during emergency surgery. Seems thing thing had been growing inside me for a long time now, and I believe that all the ailments I've felt over the past at least year or two can be traced right back to this sucker. Now, it's gone.

My first picture is of my bed. I've spent a fair amount of time in it the past 24 hours, and it was wonderful to be in my own bed after a couple of nights in a hospital one.

This will be the last picture of my bed I'll take.

Feeling like the next 365 days will take me outside. A lot.

332.365 - November 28, 2013 - Day 2 in Kansas City. We ate at McCormick & Schmick's in the Country Club Plaza for lunch and then went to Thor in the afternoon. Then, in the evening we hung out at the plaza for the lighting ceremony for all the Christmas lights in the plaza. It was pretty cold but we braved the weather! This is my wife and kids along with her mother and brother and his wife.

Primeira aula de fotografiaeeeee! :D

VAMOBORA! \o

I had to drive into Toronto today to pick up tickets for Disney on Ice. I had a coupon for 50% off from the Entertainment Book but it only worked if you used it at the box office. VERY stupid IMO.

While I was down there I snapped some random shots. I had actually pulled up to a Subway (restaurant, not transportation) to grab a sandwich and just snapped what was around me. I have really been wanting to do some street photography and this is as close as I have gotten. Not exactly what I was hoping for as the street I was on was not busy, but you take what you can get.

The Royal York actually has a fond memory for me. Back in the days of SARS scares Toronto held a promotion to entice people to visit the city and prove they were SARS free. For some incredibly ridiculously low price my wife and I (actually we weren't married at the time) were able to spend a night at the Royal York, have a 3 course meal at a fancy restaurant (the name of which now escapes me), and tour the Princess Diana exhibit. The room even included champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. I think it was all for about $100, can you believe that??

The only stressful thing about the night was that we had chosen that day to tell her parents we were pregnant. How did we tell them? We sent flowers to the restaurant they were eating at and the note said "Can't wait to me you....in 9 months". They weren't impressed and didn't find the note as clever as we did.

I've been thinking (briefly) about how to do something for Halloween, should I dig out my Pirate uniform and wear the scary mask that we use to keep the Customs men from prying too closely? Or should I cut up some pumpkin and try to get all creative?

No, it suddenly came to me, as part of my work I get to taste some very exciting beers, wines and spirits, my current favourite being an American Gin aptly named 'Death's Door'. So in the spirit (ha ha) of things tonight I mixed up a Martini with my new best friend and set about toasting Halloween... thank heavens for autofocus :)
