This video is the first of 3 in a 7minute 25second clip I have edited into 3 separate ones. previous one featuring 2-3 large elephant herds all crossing this major access road (H7) in central part of Kruger in a generally westward direction. Herd from both sides of the road with over 200 elephant & their calves & young converged on this section of the road heading uphill about 15 kms west of Satara Restcamp. One herd earlier crossed to northern side of road with one male taking a decidedly aggressive stance when it saw our safari vehicle. Our driver started his engine to ward it away.

The twelfth and final generation Eldorado introduced for 1992 was 11 in (279 mm) longer and 3 in (76 mm) wider than the previous generation, featuring frameless window glass. Marketed in either ESC (Eldorado Sport Coupe) and ETC (Eldorado Touring Coupe) trim, the former featured a stand-up hood ornament, Cadillac crests on the rear roof pillar, 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, and concealed exhausts.
Shortly after introduction Cadillac's new Northstar V8 became available in both 270 and 295 hp (220 kW) variants, replacing the previous generation's 200 hp (150 kW) 4.9 L L26.
As Eldorado's 50th model year, GM announced 2002 would be its last. To mark the end of the nameplate, a limited run of 1,596 cars in red or white—the colors available on the original 1953 convertible—were produced in three batches of 532, signifying the Eldorado's first year of production. Production ended on April 22, 2002, and the last Eldorado produced was donated to the Cadillac Museum

Pourquoi Boa Vista?

This is my mix of the popular Jerry Chair and Just Jeff's 3-in-1 pack cover. It seems to do both quite admirably so far. It's made from 1 yard of WalMart $1.50/yard coated nylon, a bit of black grosgrain, and some cord.

USAAF Serial: 45-0928
Douglas Construction Number: 16931
US Civil Registration: N54599
From Wikipedia:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_C-47_Skytrain
The Douglas C-47 Skytrain or Dakota (RAF, RAAF, RCAF, RNZAF, and SAAF designation) is a military transport aircraft developed from the civilian Douglas DC-3 airliner. It was used extensively by the Allies during World War II and remained in front-line service with various military operators for many years.
The C-47 differed from the civilian DC-3 in numerous modifications, including being fitted with a cargo door, hoist attachment, and strengthened floor, along with a shortened tail cone for glider-towing shackles, and an astrodome in the cabin roof.
During World War II, the armed forces of many countries used the C-47 and modified DC-3s for the transport of troops, cargo, and wounded. The U.S. naval designation was R4D. More than 10,000 aircraft were produced in Long Beach and Santa Monica, California and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Between March 1943 and August 1945, the Oklahoma City plant produced 5,354 C-47s.
The specialized C-53 Skytrooper troop transport started production in October 1941 at Douglas Aircraft's Santa Monica plant. It lacked the cargo door, hoist attachment, and reinforced floor of the C-47. Only 380 aircraft were produced in all because the C-47 was found to be more versatile.

Study for a Gun Hold with a Sketch of a Man's Head
England, Private collection
Pen and ink with waterclor
13 X 13 1/3 in., 33 X 34 cm.
The authors of the Courtauld catalogue state that the study for the man's head in the lower right corner of this preperatory sketch does not correspond to any finished work by Hunt. In fact, it is clearly a study for a watercolor of a sportsman which was sold at Christie's in 2011 (fig 12a). The finished watercolor is closely related to another of Hunt's early works, the larger and more finished Sporting Gentleman (exhibited 1827), which, despite being the most advanced watercolor by the artist from the 1820s, has remained on the art market since 1985 without finding a new, permanent home. See fig 12b.
Studies from life, such as this, are rare amongst Hunt's drawing. The artist drew a large number of very crude images, most of which are little more than doodles. A very few of the artist's rough drawings are actual compositional sketches which were ultimately used for finished watercolors. But this drawing and a handful of others were drawn as true studies for finished paintings, i.e., detailed images which would literally be copied by the artist when he later painted his finished watercolors. The existence of such studies disproves the notion that Hunt would, without exception, only work directly from life, with all elements of his composition situated in front of the artist during the entire time it took for him to paint his finished watercolors. I have speculated in the past that Hunt rarely made finished sketches for figures in his compositions as accommodations to certain sitters, such as the Earl of Essex, the owner of Cassiobury Park, who were unwilling to pose for more than a short time. Hunt also made quick but detailed sketches of living animals in those rare instances in which an animal, such as a dog, was to be part of a composition. Since most animals could not be expected to hold the pose desired by the artist, Hunt, of necessity, resorted to the traditional method of working from sketches instead of painting exclusively from life. But Hunt seem to have only used sketches, such as this example from the Country People exhibition, from the mid-1820s to mid-1830s. In later years, he truly did work only from life, much as early photographers would capture in photographs only those objects actually present and arranged in front of their cameras.
