After arriving at Rutland and seeing a rainbow of GP38-2s and one of the VRS' two SD70M-2s, it was a small consolation that the SD70 would be leading, even if it's not painted either. Due to the fact that there's pretty much no room in what's left of the Rutland yard, the VRS constructed a long siding outside Rutland to hold cars, primarily the unit slurry train for Pan Am right now, and 264 during the week. GMRC 263 is about to crossover to the main, and head out of town, with sixty-three loads trailing. With it's sister unit being painted, hopefully it won't be long before the 432 gets its turn.

Fast shot for today's upload. Kind of reminds me of when I was at school and we made screen prints. Always good fun.
Since 405 wouldn't have much to do and would largely be out of sight working up at Riverside we decided to follow the mainline west and look for road freight 263 that was coming east. Not knowing where they were we followed the old Green Mountain main until finally running into them at Ludlow.
So we turned around and set up for our first shot here as they approached the East Hill Rd. crossing as they head down the mountain approaching the Magris Talc plant at MP B25.5 of Vermont Railway's Bellows Falls Subdivision (the ex Rutland mainline). Leading is VTR 210 a rebuilt GP38-2 purchased from GATX that was originally blt. Oct. 1971 as Baltimore and Ohio GP40 4034. Trailing is SD70M-2 431 and dead in tow VTR 207 headed to the North Walpole paint booth for fresh red VRS paint.

Westbound trailers roll downhill under the 263 signal bridge at Summerhill. This signal was part of today's cutovers and was taken down.

i won't be having my camera for some time. it needs to be fixed. i will miss taking pictures, but school is keeping me extremely busy right now anyways, so i probably wouldn't be able to take pictures now. it was so hard to decide and finally give it away. i knew it needed to be fixed, but pick a month you won't miss it. there's something about each month. i am still waiting for the first snow to stay on the ground this year and i believe it's gonna come while i don't have my camera. sad. but i needed to pick one month. so it's now. and i won't have it for my birthday. sad.
i will be uploading old pictures if i have time.
and thank you guys for your support. a lot of my pictures made explore this week and i couldn't be happier. i think i really needed this. and the lovely messages i received.
TE1086 LK60AFX seen at Friern Barnet Lane (diversion) working on route 263 towards Highbury Barn.
A burst water main at North Finchley the previous week saw the 125/263 divert via here at Friern Barnet Lane. The 634 usually is the only double decker to traverse through here, not the case of 125/263 this week.
