MIÉ 24 DE MARZO 20 HRS / TRIPLE INAUGURACIÓN EN CELLAR: La venida de los pajaritos+EL PROBADOR(muestra internacional desde Argentina)+IV Generación de Murales Cellar
“El Probador”, un espacio sin espacio que surgió a fines del 2004 en Buenos Aires, se presenta en la Ciudad de Santiago y vuelve a cruzar la cordillera como ya lo hizo a comienzos del 2009 en Valparaíso. El motivo del proyecto es difundir obra de artistas de la escena visual contemporánea con un carácter ecléctico, esencialmente de Buenos Aires aunque se han realizado actividades en distintos lugares de Argentina y ha convocado a artistas de distintas provincias en los eventos organizados. Visitando el blog: www.elprobadorweb.blogspot.com se podrá leer que este proyecto adoptó diferentes modalidades: Algunas veces realizando exposiciones, charlas, tomando posición frente al devenir de la escena de lo que sucede ahora, se convocó a diferentes personalidades que escriban, dejen su opinión frente a un fenómeno de lo contemporáneo que tiene la característica de ser abierto. La idea de estar presente en la capital Chilena es para establecer puentes, hacer que se muestre algo de la abundante producción de algunos artistas que producen actualmente en la capital Argentina. Esta exposición es el puntapié para que luego durante el 2010 se desarrolle una presentación de videos chilenos en Buenos Aires y así seguir estableciendo redes que generen nuevos encuentros, diálogos entre las obras y los artistas, una regla que “El Probador” mantiene desde sus comienzos como propuesta fundamental.

El Probador es un trabajo de más de 5 años que reúne artistas bajo una simple consigna: exponer. Exponer juntos, exponer separados, exponer para vender, exponer por exponer ¿Y por qué no? Hacer porque es posible es signo de confianza y aliento.
Aquí en Cellar la propuesta es exhibir la obra de Gustavo Ríos junto con la de artistas jóvenes argentinos de la provincia de Buenos Aires y de Capital Federal. La elección de estos artistas está ligada a la voluntad de Gustavo de continuar con el trabajo del Probador.
En su obra, Gustavo Ríos demuestra detallismo, concentración y ávida imaginación.
Desde tiempos inmemoriales el hombre ha creado en relatos y dibujos nuevos mundos posibles, fantasías; solo en nuestro tiempo estos nuevos mundos se vuelven animaciones virtuales (como en Second Life, Sims, etc) ¿Qué lugar le damos a la fantasía en nuestra vida? ¿Cuánto de virtual tiene nuestro mundo?
Ríos abre caminos en un mapa inventado, con una paleta definida por los colores verde, azul, marrón y blanco en su obra más reciente.
Un cuerpo de obra que, analizado con detenimiento, es un desarrollo conceptual de un mapamundi inabarcable, una obra que abarca todas sus obras.
Es la voluntad de Gustavo la de presentarnos en esta oportunidad la capital de su mundo, una suerte de puente entre Buenos Aires y Santiago de Chile.
Esta obra está acompañada por el trabajo de Lino Divas, artista joven de la capital federal quien exhibe un trabajo digital de animación.
También colaboran Julia Dron, artista de La Plata, capital de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, representante de una escena bulliciosa de músicos y artistas plásticos; Jimena Fuertes y Eugenia Hernández con una instalación y un video respectivamente.
Recorran este mapa, este mundo, y olvídense del realismo del Google Earth. La verosimilitud de calles y avenidas aniquila el espíritu creador. Recuerden: acá no funciona el GPS.

An old space invader installed years before my space invader hunting era re-activated again...

Reason: In the night of 8 to 9 June more this PA_205 has been re-installed (let's call it 're-activated') by a space invader fan. This is one of the space invaders I have never seen 'active' because this PA_205 was destroyed long before I started to take photos of space invaders.
Some other re-activations last week took place by a fan together with nobody less than Invader. These are PA_556 (5ème), PA_997 (2ème), PA_839 (1èr), PA_924 (12ème) and PA_963 (3ème) and some more.
PA_205: The identity of this space invader. Date of invasion was 23/07/1999 and the score of this one is 20 points. The re-activation of this one took place on 08/06/2015.

Just beyond a fieldstone outbuilding, a classic gambrel barn is nestled into deep snowdrifts and painted with warm color as the potent, morning sunlight casts long shadows upon the landscape.
This farm in Berlin, which measures more than 20 acres, is currently on the market. The small residence elsewhere on the property is no longer inhabited and has certainly seen better days.
Farms such as these were once commonplace and endowed Connecticut with its rustic New England charm. Aerial photography of the state taken in 1934, less than a century ago, reveals a landscape that was still mostly a rural patchwork of fields, pastures and woodlots. But those farmers from the 30s would probably have a difficult time recognizing their own towns these days. For the past several decades, as older generations of farmers hung up their hats, they increasingly found few who were eager to take the reins. Old farms disappeared in droves along with a bygone breed of New Englander that was intimately tethered to the rhythms of the land. Even today it's not uncommon to find old farms hitting the market, sometimes encompassing dozens of acres and advertised as "ready to sub-divide". Such is the way that our agricultural heritage is slowly, but surely, slipping away in many areas of Connecticut.
