Salisbury Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in Salisbury, considered one of the leading examples of Early English architecture.
The main body was completed in only 38 years, from 1220 to 1258. The cathedral has the tallest church spire in the United Kingdom (123 m or 404 ft).
The cathedral has the largest cloisters of any British Cathedral.
The cloisters were started as a purely decorative feature only five years after the cathedral building was completed, with shapes, patterns, and materials that copy those of the cathedral interior.

Mutton and beef satay at the coffee shop of Blk 201, Tampines Street 21. Satay is a popular traditional BBQ dish of South-east Asia. There are 2 types of satay, the halal and non-halal ones, depending on the hawkers' religion or the country's religion. For the halal ones, satay comes in chicken, mutton and beef. The non-halal ones are usually sold by Chinese hawkers and their satay are usually pork or chicken and some have beef. satay are normally dipped in curry sauce before eating. This dish is commonly accompanied by sliced cucumber and onion. The Ketupat is a side order.

The history of Resurrection Bay is interesting. It got it's name as the result of a Russian exploration--the captain and crew were lost in a horrible storm, so battered that they expected to die. However, they were pushed into a clear, calm bay. Being Russian Orthodox and very religious, as well as the coincidence that this occurred on an Easter Sunday led to the name Resurrection Bay. Resurrection Bay lies within Kenai Fjords National Park, which is unique in that to visit it, you never step on land!
Being glacier fed, the water is brilliant turquoise and the cliffs are topped with incredible greenery. There are many seabirds, otters, whales, and seals to provide entertainment.

The image above is a 2000 X 1250 pixel scan from an original Kodachrome™ slide. Anything that is not from an original Kodachrome™ is noted as such, including later digital images and a limited number of scanned prints. The vast majority of Kodachrome™ shots were scanned during the period 2007-2014. As of 2022, there remains thousands of scanned, and unscanned images yet to go.
Early uploads were done in a 1024 X 683 pixel size. Since then, technology and software has improved, so I am beginning to re-upload in the much larger 2000 X 1250 pixel size, with the eventual goal of having only that format.
The images in the various galleries come mostly from my slide collection, gathered over the past 40+ years. They are a combination of my own photographs and others acquired over those years through trading, purchasing, and attending conventions.
This photostream was created in 2017 for the sole purpose of holding my slide collection as an archive, and has had over 10 million image views (to 2022)

I have had this key for a little while and have always thought it's quite vintage looking, but have never been able to come up with anything until last night when this popped into my head...and this has come up exactly as I saw it, which isn't always the case...Easy Peasy day! (for a change)

La provincia de Värmland es una de las 21 provincias que conforman Suecia, que coincide con la provincia histórica. Cuenta con un gobierno civil o del condado, el cual es dirigido por un gobernador nombrado por el gobierno.
Este lugar hace frontera con el país vecino de Noruega. Las casas están pintadas en color rojo de Falun. Proviene de un pigmento extraido de los residuos de una mina de cobre con el mismo nombre, ubicada en Suecia y que abasteció durante 1000 años a toda la región.
Este pigmento era sensiblemente más barato que la pintura y además protege a la madera de las inclemencias de la humedad. Y así los pueblos se fueron llenando de casas rojas en sus dos versiones: rojo de Falun oscuro y claro.

Pinewood was founded in 1888 when the railroad made this rural community a station on the line to Sumter. The Pinewood Depot was erected by 1889 in the center of the village and was the center of the community during the heyday of the railroad. It is a one-story gable end building with a metal roof and board and batten siding. The wide eaves of the roof are supported by curved knee braces and the ends of the rafters are sawn to form an ellipse.
Though abandoned for use after passenger rail transportation ceased in the mid-twentieth century, the depot is still viewed by residents of Pinewood as an important landmark. It is symbolic of the importance of rail transportation in the rural agricultural communities of the state. The depot was a conduit not only for travel, but also for mail, the transportation of goods, and was a window to the outside world. Most importantly, the Pinewood Depot is the last railroad depot standing in Sumter County.
