[Duffel, België] Vandaag werd er mooi, maar koud, weer voorspeld. Tijdens de namiddag zou de zon goed staan langs lijn 25. Ik wou hier graag nog eens wat foto’s maken aangezien de Deense Neuzen sinds gisteren worden ingezet op de luchthaventrein tussen Antwerpen en Hasselt. Voor het eerst in jaren vindt er dus een planmatige inzet van de MR96 plaats op deze lijn.
Tijdens het wachten konden ook enkele andere treinen worden gefotografeerd, waaronder de 2812, die recent een kerstboomsticker heeft gekregen, en de trage IC-trein tussen Antwerpen en Brussel. Aangezien de getrokken IC-treinen tussen Antwerpen/Essen en Charleroi-Zuid … euhm … -Centraal, alleen nog met HLE 18 rijden (in theorie, vandaag werd er namelijk al van dat plan afgeweken), is de inzet van de HLE21/27 tussen Antwerpen en Brussel beperkt tot deze trage IC-treinen. Het einde van een tijdperk komt dus geleidelijk aan dichterbij.
Het is 14:21 wanneer de opvallend schone 2159 met aan de haak een stam M5-rijtuigen de twee fotografen passeert. Al toeterend raast het geheel als IC 3135 naar Brussel-Zuid door Duffel.

This is the kettle lake (Kesselsee; 2.512m), the first lake that you reach on the descent from the Spronser Joch. There are three other lakes lying a little higher, but not on this trail. The weather was (of course) not optimal, but the clouds were a little more merciful and cleared more often this time 😉 Of course you can't capture the beautiful blue of the lakes when it is overcast like this...

A recent note from the Mono lake Committee details a large development that is planned and approved for the area near the Mobil Station and Mono Lake Overlook at the Hwy 120/395 intersection.
This would spread the existing light pollution leftward from what's seen in this 2015 photo, and the large housing and hotel development would be visible in daylight as well from South Tufa.
The public comment period is open only a few more days, until 8/21.
I added below in the comments the wider panorama from this 2015 image, so you can see what brings night photographers to the Eastern Sierra, the dark sky resource that is at stake!

This is part of the set A winter stroll in Skrylle we took on a clear and wonderful winter day in Skrylle, Skåne. The dark forest was lit up by a low winter sun and the snow on the ground. We tried to catch the flare from the sun and the beautiful shadows from the trees.

After much fluctuation of the temperature, cold, warm and cold, the fall color is finally taking off.
The morning sun is beaming down on the crystal clear lake, still a hint of mist hovering above its surface, reflecting off in a beautiful sparkle of sapphire blue and silky smooth white. The long pier, defined by the strong angling light, gently bobbles up and down, seeming to extend forever, so far away that it almost touches the brilliant arrays of dazzling autumn colors, splashes of glittering gold, blazing red and pumpkin orange, on the distant shore.
You wander to the edge of the lake, sat down with legs crossed and eyes glazing, minds drifting. You enjoy the sound of gentle lapping waves and feel the crispness of the fall breeze... your senses are completely immersed in this most wonderful and magically moment...

I am using a Jessi quote because this photo has a lot to do with her. We were in one of the kids rooms, which has GREAT natural light, and I was saying how I was trying to do Jessi-eqsue SPs but they never came out right and so she took me up and gave me a tutorial :D Yay Jessi!
In this photo I was listening to her tell me something. Or maybe I was talking and pausing. Girltaking with a girl you truly LIKE is fun. I REALLY wish they lived here in Denver, or close enough to see regularly. Like every week.
This was my "just in case" photo but I ended up using it because I didn't really get any other ones (well one that I am going to post later but did not want to use as my 365).

Do I really need to introduce these two?
I met up with COTU, OaM, BluSun, Ll's World and all the little kiddos this evening. BluSun and OaM took a moment to pose for an arm's length. At least I thought they were posing for a picture. :-)
I have some more pictures, but, I didn't install PS on this new laptop before I left so I'm using a demo version of Lightroom and just don't feel like putting in the effort to tweak a bunch in a new program tonight.
Besides, Friday will be the money day. Trust me. ;-)

"Macro Mondays" "Guilty Pleasure" "Sugar and Salt"
My doctor says that I should reduce salt and sugar, but it's all much better with these two additives in the food and I can't help it. I always take too much of it when I shouldn't. That's why I photographed large and small salt crystals as well as sugar crystals this week
Mein Arzt sagt, dass ich Salz und Zucker reduzieren sollte aber es ist alles viel besser mit diesen zwei Zusätzen im Essen und ich kann es nicht lassen. Ich nehme immer zu viel davon obwohl ich nicht sollte. Daher habe ich diese Woche große und kleine Salzkristalle sowie Zuckerkristalle fotografiert
