Timeline 201 is seen at Kearsley, near Bolton just outside MTB, Manchester Truck and Bus who did all the servicing on the Volvo B6 and B10L vehicles in the fleet. 201 had been a Shifnal allocated bus for most of its life and here it carries an allover advertisement for Westbury Homes in Telford. It came as a surprise when i was asked to go and pick 201 up from MTB one afternoon whilst spare as i wasn't aware that it had moved north. Some months later the rest of the Shifnal B6's came north and settled at Lowton and Bolton depots. Later on, Shifnal and Trafford Park depots passed to Arriva, and just prior to this all the Volvo B10Ms and Mercedes minibuses were concentrated on these two depots, with the Tigers and later Volvos (B6 and B10L) and Excels staying with Timeline at Bolton and Lowton. Alas, this was not to stay like this for long as not long after the Arriva sale the remaining operations were sold out to First group.
After a burst from the high pressure hose, the results can be seen. Surprisingly the vehicle is complete and the revealed paint work which was applied by Citybus some years ago, appears to be as good as new. There are a few mechanical jobs to address and these will be looked at in due course. 201 is one of only 2 Plymouth Atlantean survivors with Met Camm bodies of this style taken by the company, the other being 137 from 1960, now in the hands of Citybus awaiting restoration to operate within the company's heritage fleet.

This Leyland Lynx was new to Keighley & District as 201 in 1989 and was the first of 8 new buses for newly privatised AJS holdings that latterly became Blazefield Holdings. This vehicle found its way to Sovereign in Stevenage before being sold to Stotts of Minsbridge - that used it with 3 other Lynxes on school contracts until they were replaced with Darts in 2008. Due to the historical significance of this vehicle it was purchased by some of the founders of AJS holdings and is currently back at Keighley where it is seen looking smart after receiving new seats covers even though the originals were Blue.
