I have guessed the rear loco on this service based on images I have since viewed on Flickr. Many thanks to those who provided such info. It appears that these two locos were paired together for quite a long time during this period.

Class 20 number 20160 at Wigan Springs Branch depot on 14th February, 1988.
This locomotive was withdrawn in December, 1990 and scrapped by M.C.Metals in Glasgow during May, 1994.
It recently occured to me just how big my backlog has grew, so here is a selection of Single Deckers operating in the single deckers. Most show recent new intakes, rarer workings or workings soon to be confined to history.
The sole 19 plate Streetlite at Diamond for now is this short wheelbase vehicle numbered 20167. Carrying all over white, it is working the intended route 226 to Dudley, which has 6 branded for it. This is one of 29 new Streetlites recently delivered at Diamonds West Midlands and North West depots. These comprise 20157-60 branded at Atherton for routes 126/132, 20160-7 branded at Tividale for the 226, 32221-3 branded at Kidderminster for the 125, 32224-32 at Redditch for the 50, 32226/30/33-7 at Tividale for the 002.

Class 20s 20160/136 seen at French Drove on August 28th 1982 a few months before closure of the March to Spalding line. They were hauling a Derby to Yarmouth holiday train. The 20s never made it back one of them failing between March and Yarmouth
The juice must be off, so 87001 receives a drag from class 20`s number 20160 & 20060 at Springs Branch, Wigan on the 9th of October 1985.
66507 has now drawn forward to the buffer stops at Bourne End to allow the train to be reformed on 23/11/20

My only visit to Southport occurred way back in 1985 via the F&W 1Z42 Plymouth-Southport "Lancashire Lynx" railtour. The two 20s replaced 45069 at Wigan Springs and were, in turn, replaced by 25034 & 224 for the journey back to Birmingham New St. For the record, 31187 & 273 performed the return Bristol-BNS leg (our starting place for the tour).
20060 was renumbered to 20902 for use by Barclay Hunslet for weedkilling train duties. She was withdrawn as such in March 2003. She lingered for many moons until final cutting occurred at EMR Kingsbury during September 2011. RIP.
20160 soldiered on until 17th December 1990. She met her flaming end at MC Metals in Glasgow during February 1994. RIP.
20160 and 20136 head the 08:33 (SO) Derby to Yarmouth away from March, 28th August 1982. The 'Choppers' were failed at Norwich due to a speedometer fault and unfortunately did not work the returning service to Derby.
