A group of us went out shooting and had the most wonderful day!! We saw so many places to photograph. Too many in fact. We will have to go out again, lol. The highlight of the day for me was seeing this owl in the window of this house! However, I have been working on it since last night and I can't seem to process it so I like it! I tried a bunch of textures. Didn't like any of them. Finally I am settling on this. I have a feeling that I will work on it again in the future but for now I just have to walk away from it, lol! Too frustrating, hahahaha!

A local leader of the Mara Salvatrucha gang (MS-13) shows a hand sign, representing his gang, in a cell at the detention center in San Salvador, El Salvador. Although the country's two major gangs reached a truce in 2012, the police holding cells currently house more than 3000 inmates, five times more than the official built capacity. Partly because the ordinary Mara gang members did not break with their criminal activities (extortion, street-level distribution of drugs, etc.), partly because Salvadorean police still applies controversial anti-gang law which allows to detain almost anyone for “suspicion of gang membership”. Accused young men are held in police detention centers where up to 25 inmates may share a cell of five-by-five metres. Here, in the dark overcrowded cages, under harsh and life-threatening conditions, suspected gang members wait long months, sometimes years, for trial or for to be transported to a regular prison. © Jan Sochor Photography

Hypopyrrhus pyrohypogaster (Red-bellied Grackle / Cacique candela)
The red-bellied grackle is endemic to Colombia where it is found in all three Andean ranges at altitudes of 800 to 2,400m (2,600 to 7,900ft) above sea level.
Its natural habitat is tropical forest, but the trees are increasingly being felled for timber and to make way for agriculture, and little virgin forest remains within its range.
H. pyrohypogaster was formerly classified as "endangered" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature but in 2012 the threat level was lowered to "vulnerable". This is on the basis that, although its forest habitat remains under pressure, it has been found at some new locations where it was not known before. The total population is now estimated to be in the range 2,500 to 9,999 individuals.

In 1941, residents of Lytham and St Annes raised £6,500 (a figure that was matched by the Air Ministry) to buy a Spitfire plane. The Lytham St. Annes Spitfire was a Mark VB Spitfire numbered W3644.
Sadly, on 23 June 1942, whilst on bomber escort duty, Sgt Alan Lever Ridings of 19 Squadron RAF died when the aircraft was shot down by a FW190.
In 2012, this magnificent memorial was created. The nine-metre plane is now the centrepiece of a lakeside RAF Fighter and Bomber Command memorial - its official title is the "Lytham St Annes RAF Fighter, Bomber & Coastal Command Memorial".

Story Behind:
It had been a long day, I had been out all day photographing at the local marsh and I was hungry with a capital “H”. Dinner was in front of me and it looked delicious, I was just about to dig in when a swift movement in the garden caught my eye. Out of curiosity, I peeked a little in that direction to find that it was cute little Eleanor.
Eleanor is an Eastern Chipmunk who has lived in a burrow in our backyard for four years and our family considers her a family member now, like how most people have dogs or cats. She was busy feasting on the cob of corn that we had fastened for the birds. I paused for a second, I knew that dinner was going to have to wait....
If you have any questions or comments for the photographer, please leave them on our website!
My grandma had this old, dingy, stinky green rug in her house. She always had 7-Up, ice cream sandwiches, and old crayons. She also had cable, which we didn't have.

Leica m9
I'll be in New York next week for the Comic Con. i'll probably have my rx100 as a main camera, but then i would be torn by regrets if i was not taking my leica m9 in the big apple right? i mean, it would be a sin! since i still have it ... talking about keeping it ... now that its price went really down, i guess there's no more point at selling it.
