***The fourth Sasha from the left is wearing 2002 Strut It! Sasha's outfit.
The third doll is wearing 2015 #SnowKissed Yasmin's outfit with 2002 Strut It! Sasha's shoes.
The doll on the far right is wearing 2003 Secret Crush!
PERSONAL FUN FACT: Xpress It! Sasha will always be the most iconic in my collection. She was my very first Sasha doll ever, and she just so happened to be one of my favorite childhood dolls. The gal on the far left was one of my Christmas gifts in 2002. It was our first holiday season without Mom, who passed away over the summer. Dad was of course trying to over compensate. So both my sister and I received a massive amount of gifts that year. Having got Xpress It! Yasmin earlier in the fall, I had decided I wanted to get the other gals from her collection. I also loved the way they were styled--lots of denim and earthy tones. Dad picked out Meygan, Sasha, and Jade as part of my Christmas gift that year. Cloe was the only doll I didn't want (I ended up with Beach Party later on). Words cannot describe how breathtaking I found this Sasha. She had these gorgeous caramel highlights, a stunning deep skin tone, and very flattering neutral makeup. I thought she was easily the prettiest of all my Bratz dolls. I even found her more attractive than the other two Sasha dolls I acquired later on--Play Sportz Rockin' Cheerleadin' and the re-release of "1st Edition." She was my only Bratz character to have a boyfriend--my Formal Funk Dylan whom Colleen picked out just for Sasha the following Christmas. That same holiday (2003), Colleen also made sure to choose as many fashion packs as she could find with Sasha's skin tone. She knew Sasha was one of my most prized possessions. I don't remember a lot about her "personality" growing up. I'm pretty sure she was the most mature of the Bratz pack. She was also sisters with one of Colleen's Skipper dolls--the equally breathtaking Fashion Party Nikki. Despite all the years of play and love, my childhood doll still looks perfect (only clothes showed some wear).
Obviously, this Sasha was a wonderful seller, given how many others I've acquired as an adult. I didn't purchase any of these other ladies separately. They were all parts of lots, and some came along with other dolls from the Xpress It! line. Such was the case with Sasha #2, second from left in the photo. She was my first duplicate, who I acquired during the fall of 2011. She was part of the infamous "Craigslist #1" lot. We found a listing on Craigslist that featured 70 plus Bratz and TONS of spare goodies. I could see in the grainy photos that many of the dolls were from my childhood era. I wasn't shocked when I found a complete line of Xpress It! Bratz in the lot, once we got home. Some of the dolls clearly hadn't ever been played with, as they had packaging strips still intact. While Sasha #2 is in equal condition to my childhood doll, her wardrobe was substantially nicer. So of course, my first Sasha got an upgrade! I have immense fondness for all my Craigslist ladies, since they have been part of my collection for so many years. It wouldn't feel the same without seeing both of these Xpress It! Sasha dolls displayed together on the shelves above my bed.
The third and fourth gals in the photo both originated from eBay lots. The one with wavy hair, third from left, was listed with my Girls Nite Out Sasha and a bunch of Sasha extras in 2013. While I didn't "need" this third doll, I loved how her hair was wavy after I took the braids out of it (her previous owner must have braided it). I admit that I like to refresh these waves whenever they start to fall flat, because they give her such a unique look. The fourth doll from the left was part of the "New Year's CeleBratztion Yasmin Lot" of 2014. By the name of the lot, you can tell that I bought it mainly for said Yasmin. But the price point made it more affordable than buying just Yas by herself. Plus, all the other dolls and clothes from the listing were in wonderful condition (and I was trying to stock pile spare outfits and shoes). This lady was my imposter Strut It! Sasha for quite some time. I could not for the life of me find an authentic Strut It! Sasha for YEARS (I have her now...and ironically the lot wavy haired Xpress It! Sasha was from is why I had Strut It's complete outfits).
My newest doll is on the far right. She's not very new at all, considering I acquired her in 2014. Once again, she was from another lot--the "Sweet Heart Dana" one to be exact. At the local flea market one Sunday, I noticed a pile of Bratz on a seller's table who were all dressed in proper attire. While they weren't wearing their original outfits, they were donning authentic Bratz clothes. Wanting to get my hands on as many of Sweet Heart Dana's pieces as possible, I thought it made the most sense to buy all the Bratz. They were wearing random bits and bobs of Dana's. Plus, even though they were all otherwise duplicates, some were modeling clothes I needed. This Sasha was a very welcome addition to the family. Why? Well, I always wanted an Xpress It! Sasha to model my Secret Crush fashion pack from childhood. It was the outfit Colleen bought my childhood doll specially for Christmas 2003. No other lady can quite rock this ensemble besides the iconic Xpress It! Sasha!

PERSONAL FUN FACT: Ah, Danish Barbie! She's one of the most notorious Dolls of the World ladies in my collection...but not necessarily for the best of reasons. Let's go back to the early 2000s, when this doll and her other comrades were in stores. I specifically recall seeing her on shelves, but she wasn't one of the dolls I wanted specially. She reminded me a bit of Cinderella, what with the blonde hair and blue dress. That's not to say I didn't like her. But if I was going to ask Dad to buy me a slightly more expensive doll, I would have gone for one of the more exciting Dolls of the World Barbies (like African Princess, Portuguese Empire, etc). I was very excited the day this doll turned up at an indoor flea market, in 2012. Dad used to take us to this location frequently. But as the years progressed, the flea market became less and less worthwhile. There was a man inside the building who had a booth with collectibles. Every once in a blue moon, he'd have Barbies (mostly collector ones). On this particular Sunday, he had a bunch of loose dollies. I guess he had them a while, because he was willing to sell them to us for half off. Instead of $6 each, we got them for $2 or $3 each (it's been so long I can't remember). Since they were such a bargain, there was no need to handpick my favorites. At their original asking price of $6, I wouldn't have bought Danish Barbie...at least not that weekend. I was so ecstatic about finally having more Dolls of the World Barbies, that I didn't notice some of their flaws. Several of the ladies were heavily discolored yellow. At the time, I thought it must be nicotine stains, despite their lack of odor. But I've realized in the years since that they had UV damage. Interestingly, on Danish Barbie the discoloration was not only on her front, but also on her back, UNDER her dress. Yes, this sort of chemical reaction takes place with or without UV exposure, but UV rays do enhance it. Anyways Barbie was also sewn into her dress, which was very aggravating. I had a friend of mine sew snaps onto the back of the dress so I could remove it as needed. Nowadays, I could do this procedure myself...I've done it many times (my poor Reba was also sewn into her gown). To top it off, Danish Barbie had the strangest hair style. She was barely rooted with any hair due to the way it was meant to be tied up. For years I tried to maintain a close style to her original. But the super curly short layers got frizzy. And since she has kanekalon tresses, I couldn't boil wash the area without it going straight. So in the end, I was frustrated from constantly having to curl the long parts of her mane, and having to deal with the unruly frizz of her mullet. So I straightened it all in the boil wash and banded it in a flattering way. I also did some stain treatments on her, to combat the yellowing. It restored her to the proper super pale skin tone. But this sort of chemical reaction will eventually take place again, which means the staining returns. Barbie for the record was always in a closed container, in the basement, away from the sun. She still has yellowed a bit anyways. This photo was taken right after I treated her, so she looks her best. Funnily enough, all these little issues over the years have made me very attached to Danish Barbie. We've spent the most time together, even though she was aesthetically one of my least favorite Dolls of the World Barbies in my collection!

-Pink purse, jeans, fuzzy vest: 2003 Funk 'N' Glow Sasha.
PERSONAL FUN FACT: I feel very lucky to have so many of the 2002 and 2003 Funk 'N' Glow ensembles. In fact, I have mostly complete clothing/accessories for all the dolls released between the two years. I unexpectedly found listings for mint Bratz clothes and a few dolls on eBay sometime in 2013. The seller had each lot organized by character. This 2002 Funk 'N' Glow Sasha ensemble, as well as the 2003 one, were both part of the Sasha lot obviously. I still sadly do not have this Funk 'N' Glow Sasha doll even after all these years. It's honestly not the easiest task tracking down Sasha dolls ever, and the Funk 'N' Glow line isn't as obtainable as some of the other earlier Bratz collections (like Xpress It! or Formal Funk). I'd love to find Sasha herself one day. While I find the 2003 version of her to be prettier, I like how the 2002 doll resembles Xpress It! Sasha. Xpress It! was my very first Sasha doll, so she'll always be an iconic Bratz to me, and I love how the 2002 Funk 'N' Glow looks like a fancier, glitterized version! As for these clothes, I definitely prefer the look of the jeans/furry vest combo. It seems more special than the asymmetrical top and skirt look (not to say I don't love it too). The furry vest and gold top are especially flattering on Sasha's warm, dark skin tone. The flocked cowgirl hat is a unique touch too, although I can't see my younger self having used it for everyday play (it's a bit much).

The advert, which in case your wandering, was for Birds Eye Peas and was part of a huge advertising campaign which saw a large number of the fleet adorned with Birds Eye 'T' shape adverts on the offside.
The location is a rather damp Piccadilly bus station.
