I decided to quickly pop down to a local park and get some test shots in the rain. It was hammering down by the time I got back home and I got drenched but my gear stayed dry.

I want to start playing Gameboy Advance games, so yesterday I won an auction for a Gameboy SP (clamshell) game console, and two games. So collecting some more Gameboy Advanced games was my second reason for car booting today. One guy had a few in the box, but was asking £4 - £8 per cartridge. This one I found further along the row, £2. I noticed the Japanese text, so I might have the Japanese release, which might be a good thing.

I spent 4hours of my time yesterday in the dfa to renew my passport. hundreds of people were lined up for their appointment some were even lined up under the heat of the sun.
I almost thought I wont be able to secure a new passport on time. But thanks to friends like Bebe and her cousin Eric who accommodated me way earlier than my scheduled appointment. It was a great blessing talaga.
So now I can say, Krabi here I come!!! yahoo!

My 16GB White WiFi iPad 2. I use this for email, web browsing, twitter, uni readings, FaceTime and magazine subscriptions. I take this with me everywhere as it does everything I need on the go and I find that the MacBook Pro is a bit bulky. I also have a camera connection kit that allows me to insert SD cards straight from my camera to the iPad so I can upload photos on the fly.

This weeks 52 week theme was beauty in every day items. Decided to try some shots using an egg but had a smashing time. My egg fell off the worktop and smashed on the floor. I took some floor shots as well. See Photo 2 of 2. I did not use my egg shots for my 52 week photo.

1) I hate labels. They are obstacles to communicating and understanding.
2) I am a Miami Dolphins fan. I chose them as a child because someone asked me to name a favourite football team. So glad I did not pick the Cincinnati Bengals!
3) I am naturally nocturnal. Whenever I am off work for more than a few days, I adjust to a schedule that keeps me up until 4 or 5 AM.
4) I am extremely shy.
5) I like variety. A big buffet, a set of 144 markers, a playlist ignoring genres, and a library are all examples of things that make me happy because of the variety of options.
6) I named my 2nd youngest sister. The doctor said the sonogram showed a boy so my parents had only selected boys names. When she was born, we were all very pleasantly surprised. My parents liked the name I suggested (“Sanci”).
7) I have always wanted to be a twin.
8) In high school, my goal was to be a minister and lecturer who specialized in apologetics. Think of C. S. Lewis with a Samurai sword and a ‘fro.
9) I love the beauty of human beings. We are a species I find very attractive. Male, female, young, old… does not matter. Every ethnicity is beautiful to me.
10) I adore predatory animals. The big cats, Peregine falcons, wolves, hyenas, sharks and bottle-nosed dolphins amaze me. Even fictional creatures like vampires, dragons, and the Borg strike me with a fascination. There is something about the hunt…
11) For most of my life, blue was my favourite colour. When my youngest brother passed away 2 years ago, I started liking red (his favourite) because it reminds me of him.
12) I like my own company. Being an introvert, I use the alone time to recharge.
13) When I was in junior high, my mother’s friend took one look at me and said “I bet you can’t keep this one out of the mirror.” Ever since then, I’ve never put any value on what I looked like. She probably did me a favour and squashed any vanity that was beginning to brew.
14) I have 24,244 songs on my iPod Classic (160GB). My tastes vary, but I came of age in the 80s so I have a strong bias towards that decade.
15) In high school, I developed a habit of listening to music late at night when I am tired. Over the years, there have been a number of times when I am so relaxed and in that space between sleep and awake that the music becomes richer... almost three dimensional.
16) I work at listening and forgiving. Both are difficult at times, but worth the effort. My goal is to encourage people to always be themselves around me. The world already judges and dismisses us in many ways, so my hope is to not personally contribute to those feelings. Let's just say I'm better at listening than forgiving.
New light source really helps. Know to find some gels that are easier to work with. This was attempt number 2, I think it turned out better.

1. I can only eat mashed potatoes with a spoon.

3. I am a sophmore on college. Only a community college right now, but transferring hopefully next semester.
4. For my 20th birthday (may 29th) me and my best friend emily are going to see toy story 3...yeah it comes out a little bit after...but yeah =)
5. Literally everywhere you look in my room there is either a picture of a flower, or of family and friends.
6. I collect crosses, I started a wall. Also some figures..completely spaced my mind of what they are called..
7. I have a bookcase full of books. I never sell my books, unless textbooks. And there are 4 shelves...the 5th shelve is full of movies..
8. All of my extended family lives in different states...it sucks!
9.I have three best friends, Kelsey same age goes to OSU...I met her are church camp and we are just the same. Emily senior in high school..she understands every situation i'm in and helps so much, and Ryan jr. in high school....ryan is one of the only people I can talk to about religion, also we share an obsession for musical theater. Those three are my rocks I basically talk to them about anything
10. I am addicted to chapstick, headbands, sunglasses, computer, becoming fans of things on facebook, converse, flats, the color green,reading, blankets, texting, Harry Potter, Musicals.
Another tidbit Me and Ryan for my 20th bday are going to see Little Mermaid on Broadway when it tours. =D

1.) back in my college days, i was almost a buddhist priest...at the last minute, i was replaced by the man who would later become "president barack obama".
2.) i've been cyborgs, androids & mutants in the past decade.
3.) i'm pretty brand agnostic. i don't go in for the "my camera/computer/phone can beat up yours" kinda thing.
4.) i dislike most photos of myself (as evidenced by the great lack thereof in my photostream).
5.) the kids are the third generation of my family attending 'iolani school, but the first who will be a son/daughter of 'iolani.
6.) i graduated from the university of hawai'i at manoa with a degree in broadcast communications...so, naturally, i'm in "it", now.
7.) looking for a change in careers, even as i type.
8.) kuuga is my favorite of the so-called, "heisei kamen riders".
9.) i'm not very good with numbers.
10.) i can't read, either...i was absent from school the day they taught reading.

Remark: Originally named Flint Hall, this structure was built as a three story building in 1875 of John C. Flint and served as a boarding house for about eighty students and a residence for Mr. Flint.
The structure's foundation footprint was 38 feet by 134 feet and the building had a mansard roof built by contractors Shade & Perkins. The cost of construction was $8,000.
At 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 25, 1881, a fire was discovered in the southwest corner of the third floor of Flint Hall. Most of the contents were saved, but several individuals suffered injuries. Music Professor Richard A. Heritage then purchased the damaged structure. In remodeling the structure after the fire, the third floor was removed and a flat roof was placed over the second story. The hall was then renamed Heritage Hall. The structure served as the university library from 1925 to 1946. Professor Richard A. Heritage served as head of the Music Department at Valparaiso University from 1877 to 1894.

1) I am a Christian.
2) I hate shopping for clothes, getting my hair or nails done, etc- I think is a waste of time and money and will only do it grudgingly
3) My favorite animals are mustelids- skunk, weasel, ferret, badger, etc.
4) I am hooked on 20's and 30's music and am beginning to prefer it over modern music. Currently it is second only to old skool metal in my book.
5) I love old things- old: typewriters, appliances, doorknobs, keys, oil lamps, victrolas, clawfoot tubs, etc
6) I don't like sunlight too much and I really dislike summertime.
7) I'd rather drive my old raggedy 1990 toyota 4runner with oversize tires than our nice, new car and wouldn't be caught dead driving any "grocery getter".
8) I don't like kids except my one and only child. Frankly, most children are brats. I say we go back to whipping asses asap and get rid of all this "time out" crap.
9) After Katrina, when we didn't have electricity for almost a month and everything was scary, I learned a LOT about my inner strength and have been better off for the experience in many ways.
10) I'd wear costumes or historical garb every day if i could get away with it.
11) I think global warming caused by man is a big steaming pile of crap, but I do agree there are too many people for the earth to support, resource-wise.
12) My all time favorite song is "Don't Dream it's Over" by Crowded House.
13) I'm only 4 feet 10.5 in tall.
14) My favorite restaurant is the French Market restaurant, across from the French Market in New Orleans, because I love looking out of the second story window of their bathroom. Their oysters are good, too.
15) I watch The Wizard of Oz every year, come hell or high water.
16) I have in fact read the Bible straight through, twice, two different versions. I think every adult Christian should read it all the way through at least once. It's the inspired word of God for crying out loud- nobody has any business cherry-picking it to suit their purposes. I hate when non-Christians take scripture out of context but I hate it more when Christians do it.

2. I saw all the lights and thought they gave a colorful vibe to an object that is normally grey.
3. I saw the colors and knew I needed to get a photo. In Lightroom, I increased the saturation on some colors, added clarity, and more.
An interesting jet over San Diego. I never see any other pictures of all the cool jets that fly over San Diego in Class A airspace by anyone else. It's a shame, as I've seen some really interesting planes in Class A before, including this one, Air Transat A310s & A330s, an An-124, and soon the Aeromexico 787. Also during the winter it will be possible to see 3 787s in one day in San Diego just by staying at SAN: AMX57, JAL66/65, and LAN603. Note the test engine (#2). I had to take a closer look before seeing this was the bigger engine.

La toma de agua, cuando mucho he visto este lugar 3 veces y cada que estoy por ahí quisiera disponer de más tiempo para apreciarlo todo, a pesar del frío que hace me atrae mucho el lugar lleno de sonidos naturales y de vida, quería una larga exposición para esta foto, pero el reducido espacio del lugar no me dejo apoyar el tripie para tener el mismo ángulo, de igual manera quería una toma de seda para esa caída de agua abajo pero necesitaba por lo menos 1/2 hr. más para hacer la foto, el lugar está un poco difícil para bajar y cruzar el río, requiere de más tiempo y no lo tenía.
12 Kilómetros cuesta arriba para llegar a este lugar y otros 12 de Regreso y si me tardo más entra la noche dentro del bosque y se pone peligroso.
Gracias a mi hermano que nos llevo. Por cierto con mucho frío y él con camiseta jaja.

1) In this photo I am trying to communicate a peaceful, calm, and tranquil scene around the bench.
2) I created this by utilizing the clear sky and it being close to sunset and by positioning myself in a way so that the tree creates interesting shadows and highlights on the bench and snow. I also used the tree for movement towards the subject, the bench.

a series of works created with magical intention, blue velvet magic that slides tenderly and then EX PLOD E S with life.
Alguns autors relacionaren l'estructura arquitectònica de l'església de Betlem amb l'església mare dels jesuïtes, Il Gesú de Vignola, construïda a Roma el 1568. Tanmateix, Betlem segueix encara la pauta establerta per la tradició gòtica catalana: una nau amb capelles laterals bastides entre els contraforts. Aquí, però, aquests són perforats, de manera que les capelles es comuniquen entre si. La volta de la nau central és de llunetes. Les capelles laterals es cobreixen amb cúpules amb llanternes, visibles a l'exterior. Abans del 1936 tot l'interior era profusament decorat seguint l'estil barroc. Entre altres elements destacaven: les figures dels Dotze Apòstols, obra de Domènec Talarn (1812-1902), que hi havia als carcanyols dels arcs; les espectaculars gelosies de les tribunes superiors (1855), i el retaule major (1866).
El mur extern de Betlem és però, l'element més característic del monument. Els paraments són formats per carreus encoixinats. La façana, amb coronament mixtilini i boles decoratives, és dividida verticalment en tres sectors, el central dels quals és ocupat per una grandiosa portada, formada per diversos cossos superposats. En l'inferior, la porta rectangular és flanquejada per dues parelles de columnes salomòniques, entre les quals hi ha les escultures de sant Ignasi de Loiola i de sant Francesc de Borja, ambdues atribuïdes a Andreu Sala. En el segon cos, hi ha un relleu del Naixement, entre pilastres, volutes i gerres. El darrer cos es centrat per un gran rosetó, envoltat també per elements similars. A l'angle amb el carrer Xucla, dins d'una fornícula, hi ha l'escultura de sant Francesc Xavier (1690), obra de Francesc d'Assís de Santa Creu, autor també de l'infant Jesús que hi ha sobre la primera porta per la banda de la Rambla. El 1906, l'arquitecte Enric Sagnier obrí una porta similar amb la imatge de sant Joan Baptista.
L'església de Betlem és situada al carrer del Carme números 2 i 4 de Barcelona, fent cantonada amb la Rambla i el carrer de Xuclà, enfront del Palau Moja i a tocar del Palau de la Virreina, té un entorn de protecció comú a tots tres edificis.
El dia 8 d'abril de 1681 es va posar la primera pedra de l'actual església de Betlem, que en va substituir una d'anterior, construïda pels jesuïtes al costat del col·legi del mateix nom i beneïda el 1555. Aquesta primera església ocupava només el sector del presbiteri de la nova; durant les festes que se celebraven per la canonització de sant Francesc de Borja, la primitiva església sofrí un incendi; aquest fet i les reduïdes dimensions que tenia determinaren la construcció d'un nou temple.
Per dur a terme aquest nou edifici, es va traslladar la font que ara és a la Portaferrissa i s'ocuparen terrenys cap al centre de la Rambla (de manera que aquesta s'estretí) i uns habitatges per la banda del carrer del Carme. Dirigiren les obres els jesuïtes Tort i Lacarse, segons projecte atribuït al mestre de cases barceloní Josep Juli.
L'església de Betlem fou beneïda el 1729, però no s'acabà del tot fins al 1732.
El 1662, els jesuïtes del Col·legi de Betlem es feren càrrec del veí col·legi de Cordelles, fundat a final del segle anterior. El 1767, els jesuïtes van ser expulsats. El Col·legi de Betlem romangué tancat fins al 1787 en què passà a propietat del bisbat i fou destinat a seminari. El 1835, l'església de Betlem fou erigida en parròquia.
El 1936 sofrí greument els estralls de la Guerra Civil: tota la decoració interior fou cremada i les voltes s'ensorraren. Després de la guerra fou reconstruïda pels arquitectes Francesc Folguera Graci i Lluís Bonet Garí. Entre 1991 i 1992, la Direcció General del Patrimoni Cultural de la Generalitat de Catalunya ha restaurat les façanes del temple.
Concept#2, I tried to incorperate the Federalist papers image that Hamilton wrote.
For the main menu screen, I will place the menu item in the middle on the paper image, but on the background will have the gold color from Hamilton musical logo.
For scene selection and set up pages, all the items will be placed on paper-looking background.

yet another costume from the highschool years - Buffy was still on tv and we thought Drusilla was awesome. Caitlin's life size cardboard Spike figure sat on the porch with us, while we handed out candy in creepy floor length gowns to a soundtrack of marilyn manson.
i loved sewing this dress, the sleeve fabric is still my favorite part. someone asked if I painted my nails black just for halloween and was shocked to hear they stay that color almost all year :)
It was so cold tonight though, I ended up wearing my red riding hood costume to stay warm on the porch. i love passing out candy - i've missed it so much the past few years - i always worked on halloween in school, so it was fun to see all the kiddos dressed up, even if most of them kept asking who little red riding hood was.

I was going to say something about bokeh and it being Wednesday, but I'm actually going to ask you not look at the bokeh - as it does an excellent job of revealing practically every semi-passable optical defect Nikon could work into this lens - flare, ghosting, spherical abberation, hideous corner sharpness, coma, all of it.
Isn't it just lovely? Fuck new lenses, they haven't got half the character.

This is baby Cooper born 24 December 2011.
This is the 2nd time I've attempted to take photos of a baby and I'd say that this one went a lot getter than the first. I learnt A LOT with this shoot though...
1) I needed more light behind the little guy on the left side and a better reflector on his face (apparently white cardboard just wasn't cutting it)
2) I can't edit photos with ease using my MacBook Pro & it's trackpad (though I do love the colours on this screen).
3) I should have put some effort in and grabbed a nice throw from my house or something - failing that, at least ironed the blanket I put him on.
4) I think there's slightly too much space at the front
I might ask Mum if she's free this weekend to have another go - it was a lot of fun and I really think I can improve!

As I said in an earlier post, the Galesburg-Lincoln manifests were pretty consistently carrying some interesting stuff for a while earlier in September. On Sept 5th, it carried the second TEBC6 slug through town within a week, joined by a rebuilt SD45-2 and a GP39-2. I went all out for this chase and ended up catching him at four locations between Burlington and Mt. Pleasant.
