Building "B" in Aerial Photo, Floor 2(I think)

Remnants of the old heaters that were hooked up to the steam pipes are still littered about the place. I think this photo was taken on the second floor of the main building, looking at a rectangular area open to the sky that was built into the center of the second floor - not sure why, possibly to bring daylight into the center of the building, but it seems like skylights would have been an easier way of getting that. You can see this area on the aerial photo, a dark black rectangle just to the left of the red letter "B".

Series 5 episode 2 i think, to be shown in 2015

1)I don’t share very much personal information on flickr and I’m kinda freaking out about this. It may be too much for me but I’ll give it a go.

2)I’m not really that private a person, I just don’t like to write very much.

3)Have to put this in because keldemean tagged me. Went to catholic school also and did not challenge the nuns nearly enough.

4)I work in the same building as Iandoubleyou.

5)I could have used the doubleyou business in my flickrname but people would just call me a copy cat.

6)I enjoy the people I meet here and the random activities that happen because of Flickr.

7)I have a blended family with 3 cats, 3 kids, and several dogs associated with the kids. The pets provide a lot of entertainment. My son tells me I need to get out more.

8)My favorite place is the ocean… especially warm ones and I’m partial to tropical vacations. I love to pretend I’m a fish and as long as I have tanks I can breathe underwater.

9)I am very crafty. I like to sew and I’ve made quilts. I knit and crochet. I’ve made some jewelry and the ornaments you’ve seen in my xmas pics.

10)I like to garden and have a freezer full of tomato sauce and tomato-basil soup. Guess what we grow.

11)I love to laugh and I like to be around people that make me laugh.

12)My favorite kind of chocolate is dark.

13)I am shorter than your average bear (and your average person).

14)I love cars and I love to drive them.

15)I play the piano – or keyboard if you’re into digital.

16)Everything in my life is not perfect but I am very lucky in so many ways and remind myself of that often.

Last-minute edit: I am so tagging all my contacts!

Dia 20 i 21 d'Estat d'alarma dijous 2 i divendres 3 d'abril, confinats a casa.

Dies de barri, balcó i terrat.

Today was 228, February 28. It was the 60th anniversary of the 228 Incident, a bloody massacre. Today, it's a holiday and today is notable for the first issuance of "TAIWAN" postage stamps since sometime in the 1890s [1].

I stayed up all night reading Empire of the Sun by J.G. Ballard, and finished it near 6 a.m. [2] I woke up late (but it's a holiday - so does it matter what I do?). I took a walk along the Xindian River, near my house and took some pictures.

I sat down along the river and read the first 40 pages of Moby-Dick or The Whale, and found it really funny. Maybe this means I can finish the remaining chunk of the book?

I ended up walking to Ximen MRT through 萬華 Wanhua and the Youth Park. What a cute area. I had a fun day exploring, taking pictures, soaking up a bit more of Taiwan.

[1] They previously said "Republic of China 中華民國".

[2] I was nearly asleep around 0345, but we had a 4.9 earthquake that startled me enough that I was wide awake again. These are surprisingly regular events.

historique

Après quelques remous et

un léger suspense, le CJF

Rugby évoluera bien en

Fédérale 3 cette saison à

I'hippodrome de Saint-

Malo.

Constantin Gheara.

C'est le cas par exemple de

Constantin Gheara, joueur rou

Giovanni Guilcher.

et qui a même joué une saison

au Canada I

SAINT-MALO : 2 essais : Brostin (56'), Georgelin (65').

On a beaucoup subi. »

Thomas Mottin (co-entraîneur du Rheu) : « J'ai aimé l'état d'esprit affiché par mes joueurs. On se savait attendu. On a bien répondu même si on est encore un peu trop gentil à mon goût. Il nous manque encore quelques repères. On a encore des choses à travailler. »

xarchive week 2: i've decided once again to put current work on the back burner and spend some time trolling through my photo archives for photos which for whatever reason never saw the light of day.

from april 2008

Me...age 2.

OH OH ..I've been tagged by Desertglitter - so here are

10 Things About Me:

1. My name is Vicki. I am American. Born and raised in Ohio, retired to Michigan, relocated to Florida where I've now lived for 17 years. I love living in Florida from mid October to Mid March. It is too hot and humid for me the rest of the year but tolerable since I don't have to be outside anymore than I want to be.

2. I am only 4 ft 11 inches tall now - I lost an inch and a half somewhere - and I am called "small" (although I could lose 10 pounds and probably should). I am a senior citizen - I don't recall getting 'old' but apparently I did. But I am very fortunate to still be physically and mentally healthy.

3. I am eldest of 8 children. I have 2 brothers and 5 sisters. (6 sisters now because I have adopted my Flickr friend Trykemom to be my little sister too). :-)

4. I am married to my Bob. We have been together for 25 years last November.

You won't see many pics of him on Flickr though as he hates being photographed. He is also retired.

5. I have 3 children from my former marriage. 2 boys and a girl. They are all grown up now of course and married. One son lives about a hundred miles from us. My other son lives in Hawaii and my daughter lives in Ohio. Because of the miles separating us, I don't see them nearly as often as I would like.

6. I have 6 grandchildren and I am quite proud of them. The 2 eldest boys live on the West Coast of Florida and the other 2 boys and 2 girls live in Ohio. I became a great grandmother ( a WHAT?! lol) in June 2011. A little boy. This year he was blessed with a baby sister. I don't see the grandkids nearly as often as I'd like either.

7. I am retired now. I have worked many jobs over the years...most all of them involved working with the public...saleslady, waitress, medical assistant, restaurant owner/manager, retail shop manager, loan company cashier...but now I keep busy by being involved in the operations of the condo association where we live. I served on the Board of Directors and as Secretary of the Association for 4 years, I am a member of the Security Committee and the Grounds Beautification Committee too and I am in charge of the Library.

8. I am a people person. I enjoy the company of friends. I have many friends here and in Ohio, but I am thrilled to have made so many Flickr friends from all over the world the past couple years too. I enjoy seeing their photos of places and things I would not see otherwise and I learn so much about their part of the world from them.

9. I love animals. I am especially fond of cats. When I lived in Ohio, I, along with 6 friends, formed our county's first Humane Society. I do miss having a pet. I would love to have a cat and a small dog - but Bob is not a pet person and I want to keep him around. It really is simpler not to have a pet though when it comes time to travel up to Ohio and Michigan for a stay. Finding a sitter for my houseplants is difficult enough.

10. For relaxation I love to play cards with some of my gal pals, to read, crochet, attend concerts and plays with Bob, check out garage sales and estate sales, take photographs of everything I find interesting (I submit some of them to the local newspaper and have been published by them several times) ...... and of course I love to explore others' photos on Flickr.

Trenitalia Class ALe.426 94 83 4426 030-2 I-TI leaving Trastevere for Rome Termini, Rome, Italy on the 20th September 2014.

I finished week 1. And made pretty good progress on week 2. I don't think I'll catch up enough to finish week 2 by Monday. But I am going to try.

Several 'customizations' were made. (Sounds better than mistakes, don't cha think?)

1. I have a small family- so my friends are very important and become like family. I have a handful of people that aren't family but I consider them so.

2. I'm extremely faithful to people.

3. I value kindness.

4. I'm very spiritual (religious), but not a fundamentalist.

5. I think America has the know how to solve our energy problems. We just need to empower our scientists.

6. I would rather pay an American farmer to produce a commodity that can provide source of energy . (I'm a farmer's daughter. We don't need to loose the capacity to grow our own food and energy!)

7. I not only need to loose weight I really have to try!

8. I smoke and don't want to. I've quit several times only to relapse.

9. My grandmother was more motherly than my mother. I miss my grandmother, Iola, every day.

10. I'm a former scuba diver. There is nothing like being surrounded by beautiful tropical fish. I enjoy being in the water, on the water and close to the water.

11. I LOVE to travel and wish there were more funds to do so. Would LOVE to go to Italy and France and Australia, as I've been to England.

12. I'm grateful for Facebook. It has allowed me to reconnect with friends I'd lost contact with.

13. I love living in the country on a family farm.

14. I studied museum studies in Grad School, as well as history.

15. I directed/produced/facilitated special events for over 10 years.

16. Contemplating a return to higher ed for Master's in Adult Ed.

For FGR...Thirteen things about me.

1. When no one is home while I'm getting ready (shower, get dressed, makeup)...I dance like a fool...Just can't stop myself.

2. I hate my eyecolor...Seriously, who wants grey eyes?

3. I'm a February birthday baby! I love that month.

4. When I was 14, a brown recluse spider bit me on the face. Not only was it bad because of the bite, but turns out I'm severely allergic to those suckers. I was in the hospital for a week and spent 3 days in the ICU...It was terrible. As if I didn't already hate spiders.

5. I will NOT leave the house without makeup. Not too long ago I lost my eyeliner and refused to go wherever it was we were going. Finally I found a spare somewhere. I was practically in tears. The chances of my face ever being on here without makeup are the only ones my face will not appear in.

6.I am the worst morning person EVER. My sister's used to flip a coin to see which one got to wake me up...Yeah, I'm that bad.

7. I'm terrified of needles and blood. I'm one of those people they have to lie down before getting blood drawn and they have to give me a cold wash cloth and a puke bucket just in case...ewwwwww.

8. I love writing poetry...omg I love it. I haven't wrote anything in over a year...I really don't know why.

9.My hands and feet are constantly cold. My husband calls them my ice mittens (hands) and my snow boots (feet)

10. When I was pregnant, we got behind a chicken truck that was headed to the chicken killing place. I looked at this one particular chicken and we made eye contact... It broke my heart and I begged my husband to follow the truck so we could save it. lol Turns out it was the prego hormones...I'm really not crazy!

11. I love rice...I could eat it all day every day!

12. I really hate feet and hate people touching my feet. Never will I get a pedicure...

13. I have never had a speeding ticket (knock on wood) but I have been pulled over MANY times...It always just ended with the "Audrey, just please slow down" talk.

Dremel circle cutter used to remove middle material. This is not the top for #2. i managed to ruin this one after inlaying the rosette.

Bowl scene 2 St Agnes's sister, St Erementiana, is stoned to death at the tomb.

The Royal Cup

The Royal Cup was designed for ceremonial use or for display at royal feasts. It depicts scenes from the legends of St Agnes who is thought to have been martyred in Rome during the reign of Emperor Diocletian (AD 284-305). Two medallions showing Christ and St Agnes are inserted inside the cover and bowl of the cup. The foot is decorated with the symbols of the Evangelists.

About 1370-80, Paris, France, Gold and enamel

History of the Royal Cup

This unique treasure was commissioned by Jean Duc de Berry and given to his nephew Charles VI of France in 1391. The wars between England and France saw it pass into the English royal household in 1435. During the reign of Henry VIII (1509-47) it was decorated with Tudor roses on its stem. James I gave it to the Spanish ambassador, Juan de Velasco, in 1604 to mark the peace between England and Spain. In 1610 he donated it to the convent in Medina de Pomar near Burgos where it remained until it appeared on the Paris market in 1883.

So I suppose I was tagged by Ioh to do this, along with a bagillion other people (:P) so I thought I would try it out. Here we go! Oh, also... I didn't just take this picture. It's a couple weeks old. Whatevs.

Oh and I forgot to add a picture of me when I was little, and I don't want to do it again so... click this link! (Srsly, I was adorable.)

Baby picture here :D

1. Yes, most of you know I'm shy. But it goes deeper than that. I have social anxiety and everyday things that shouldn't affect me can send me into a panic attack. It sucks.

2. I have weird thumbs, and just recently found out they're called 'Clubbed thumbs'. Look it up, or look up Megan Fox's thumbs on Google. Yerp, they're weird looking, I know.

3. I think WAY too much. And when I say 'WAY' too much, I mean it. If you ever think I'm being spontaneous, you're very wrong. I plan out everything and weight the pros and cons to see if it's really a good idea. It kind of hinders me sometimes, but it's something I can't really help.

4. My two biggest fears are death and being just like somebody else. The fear of death I obviously can't prevent, though it still gets to me. But the fear of being like somebody else is so random I can hardly explain it. I guess I just want to be different?

5. I am so jealous, it isn't even funny. Which is probably why I don't like 99.9% of the girls I meet. For instance, Fluff is probably the only girl I talk to on a daily basis in SL. But with my jealously, it's like, if I like a guy, and he doesn't even know that I do, but I see him with another girl, I go all hulk-rage and wanna tear shit up. Eeeyup. :|

6. I'm trying this thing out lately where I'm being honest, and sometimes even brutally honest. People always used to walk all over me and came to me when they wanted to hear what they wanted to hear. These days, I'm throwing the truth out left and right, even if it's bad... and it makes me laugh how surprised they are.

7. I have my nose pierced? Most of you can see that... (I'm running out of ideas) But if you haven't heard the story to go along with it, ask me. It's pretty hilarious, in my opinion.

8. And finally, I dislike 99.9% of the girls I meet. I guess I just get vibes from certain girls I can tell I won't get along with, and most of the time I'm right. There's only a few girls that I can be friends with and not want to rip their hair out. Well, more than a few... but you get the point. Girls are too catty for my liking.

P.S. I don't feel like tagging anyone so... C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!

:D

Ok I have been tagged by Andrea write 16 things about myself, so here it goes:

View On Black

1.I am from Austria, lived in Vienna, Switzerland, London, Spain and Australia.

2.I had a cat called tigerly which I absolutely adored and it broke my heart when I had to leave her behind in Spain because I moved to London

3.I am a gypsy who can’t seem to find a place in the world to settle down or call home. So I do travel from place to place – next destination is Sydney

4. I love Jasmine flowers, Lilies and the native Kangaroo Paw Plant put I can’t keep any because I seem to manage to kill every plant.

5. I scream when i see a spider and my partner has to kill it instantly

6.When I was 20 I had three rats as pets and my fav. one was called spliffum

7.I don’t like the rules and strings that society seems to want to reform everyone to.

8.Sometimes when I have time I listen to music and dance like a crazy person

9.Sometimes I dream I can fly and when I wake up I seem to think gravity doesn’t apply to me, resulting in a lot of clumsiness but even though I break things I always manage to blame my partner for it ;)

10.I am very sensitive when it comes to smell and noise and when I get drunk I talk a lot of bull sh*t. – Yes I know you might think …who doesn’t… but I have been told numerous times how particularly bad I am.

11.Underground stations creep me out and I tend to faint when I feel closed-in or crowded

12. I used to think i am strong like Pippi Longstoking and dressed up as her for weeks - yes i know don't ask

13.Passion, dreams, scandals, hopes and love are all things that I believe are part of life and make you who you are.

14.I tend to get in trouble at work, with my partners family and with other people for saying what I think (maybe a bit too straight out, which is very Austrian I am afraid) and sometimes I should probably think before I speak ☹

15.While I am not a jealous person and believe in individuality and freedom, in a relationship being not truthful and aggressive is a deal breaker.

16. I believe in different realms and love my little fairy world in which I seem to escape just too often to ☺

Guys on a different note I wanted to thank you for all your support this year. Since I have started on the path to photography in May 2008 it has been a very challenging and rewarding journey but I have loved every minute of it. It has been hard juggling my full time job and photography, put I will keep it up ☺

Version 2! I redid it in art class. Looks sooooooooooo much better (:

shrek 2. I heart the german pigs and cross dressin' wolf!

Cakile maritima Scop.

Sea Rocket, DE: Europäischer Meersenf, CR: primorska morguša

Slo.: morska gorjuša

Dat.: June 22. 2010

Lat.: 44.39660 Long.: 14.80066

Code: Bot_431/2010_DSC2814

Habitat: Adriatic Sea shore, flat terrain, pebble beach, open place, full sun, only a few mm away of sea water; elevation 1.5 m (6 feet); average precipitations ~ 1.000 mm/year, average temperature about 14 deg C, Mediterranean phytogeographical region.

Substratum: sandy soil among stones.

Place: Adriatic Sea; Island Olib, 'Slatina' beach, Kvarner bay, Rijeka region, Croatia EC.

Comment: Cakile maritima is a typical Mediterranean species of huge family Cruciferae, which is generally easy to recognize by (usually) opposite leaves and four separate sepals and petals forming a typical cross. It is common throughout the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions and on Canard islands. Yet, it is almost extinct from the short Slovenian Adriatic Sea shore because of development. Cakile maritima is a modest, non-spectacular plant, with tender, white to pink or pale violet flowers with pleasant odor and lot of honey. When it starts to flower their buds and flowers are in densely packed inflorescence, but later, when seeds develop its flowering stalks gradually become much, much longer. It grows very close to the sea, on sand and pebble beaches in an area, which is often splashed by waves and hence it must be a salt tolerant plant. Indeed it tastes salty and slightly burning similar to a kind of mustard. Its seeds are spread by sea water streams on long distances. For this purpose its seeds float on water.

Pravilnik o uvrstitvi ogroženih rastlinskih in živalskih vrst v rdeči seznam, Uradni list RS, št. 82/2002 (Regulation of enlisting of endangered plant and animal species onto Red List, Official Gazette of Republic Slovenia, no. 82/2002) (2002). Enlisted in the Slovene Red List of rare and endangered species, marked by "E" representing a critically endangered species.

Submission number 2! I created a group called Paint 31, come join! :) Also blogged over here.

Hey Nicole, funny that you mention Charlotte Gainsbourg in your comment, I do actually see a resemblance, especially in the first image above! Bone structure. I had to post this because she is one of my favourite actresses and is also at the centre of a little nexus of extra random facts!

1. Charlotte Gainsbourg is one of my favourite actresses!

2. I have always had a major crush on her husband (do hope they are still together) Yvan Attal, who also reminds me of my own husband Adam (who, incidentally is going to kill me for this!).

3. Her Father, Serge Gainsbourg, is a musical hero, we played Meoldie Nelson at our wedding.

I'm looking for feedback from the pro PFRE Strobists on this first 5-flash shot so I deliberately left it un-edited... click all sizes for a juicy 1200

2 Viv 285HV CL CR both on light stands (not ttripods) w 35" silver convertible umbrella's

SB-24 w/ Sto-fen Omnibounce in corner far R to R of chair, 1/16th - didnt fire

SB-28 tucked in far room L behind slats with at 1/8th

SB-600 on camera triggering all Sonia Optical sensors attached to each flash via PC cord - sweet setup but will move to all SB-80Dx in future - less work.

This was a 103 deg day, shoot 2 of 2 I hadnt eaten and was dehydrated and pissy w a headache from heat exhaustion.

Anyways, 6500 sq ft Folsom Lake-front 80's Miami Vice House totally cheesy Modern w indoor pool, everything white w peach except this room was African decor???

Okay I got the silver umbrella reflection on slatted wall-door unit pullout thing, not sure how much of that is from the (add-edit ->) Sunlight through door L..., reflection ceiling L behind that, otherwise, pretty clean for my first 5-flash shot I'd say.

Shooting with all these flashes is what I've been saving up to do for 2 years, had a blast setting up, figuring out placement etc. Wicked - no more HDR!! In total only shot maybe 65 photos - we're talking 15 big rooms.

I also shot lower than I was before - like it better, verts not adjusted door R

I guess what I am looking for from y'all is a solution to the far L strobe reflection / ceiling issue...lower on tripod and down to 1/16th?

(Yeongdo, Busan, South Korea) Some part of this probably dates to the colonial period, but its hard to tell at this point. Either way, it was probably built before 1960. The buildings around Yeongdo may be some of the oldest still standing in Busan. Taken around the old harbor in present day Yeongdo-gu in Daepyeongdong 1(il)-ga and Daepyeongdong 2(i)-ga.

V5.2 I'm enjoying the frustration of exploring Midjourney. Splendid AI software!

30.03.2016 Day 2

I knew this would happen, I'm obsessed already! I've been back to watch the Hares again tonight.

Fascinating creatures. It is no wonder I have not seen them before, apart from once chance encounter. They lie so low in the grass with literally an ear visible at best. I only saw this when it turned its head and the sun caught it.

Tonight there was one lying low in its form to the right of the gate. Just moving it's head occasionally. It was the only one I could see after scanning the field. The very second the sun set over the horizon another rose from my left and started heading from left to right across the field directly towards the other one. It was quite bold as it headed across the field and didn't appear bothered by my presence. The two Hares ran around in circles chasing each other before disappearing through the hedge into field 1.

I'm just going to watch from a distance on my next few visits to see what they do and where there go so I can get myself nearer hopefully.

Circles 2 I love the graphic simplicity of this shot. The colours, the texture of the table against the plastic semispheres.

I'd have liked the whole group to have been in focus but couldn't work the camera.

The table is my frame, I was aiming to get some depth with the perspective, I tweaked the contrast a bit but no other filters applied.

Its a chance pic - not set up, I hope it creates intrigue, the story is very domestic but I hope it keeps folks guessing . . .

My crit is that there is not enough of a story here, I tried with a hand in shot but it didn't work as well. It seems my focus is on 'things' rather than people, aiming for people in next pic.
