There was a mixture of Semaphore and colour light signals in Ipswich station when I took this picture of a pair of Class 37's 37089+37060 coming through with a freightliner train. 09/09/1983.

Wearing the summer fashion of the year. Worn a lot in the summers of the early 1980s.
She eventually got tired of people trying to pull the top down or trying to slip their hands inside of the top for a quick feel or squeeze and it was resigned to the back of the wardrobe.
The shorts stayed around for a bit longer.

Class 37/0 no. 37226 stands at Sheffield's platform 2 in July 1983, while a Trans-Pennine class 124 departs for Hull.

1983 left-hand drive Citroën Acadiane A140GAP, a small commercial vehicle derived from the Dyane, arriving at the annual Classics at Prescott charity meeting on 12th May 2024. Below the front number plate is the original French registration.
A very rare view of an old 1983 Stock Jubilee train stabled at Watford station. IT was around this time this stock was being withdrawn from service after only having been in use for an unusually short time. The stock had never been successful and the single doors were both widely disliked and caused congestion.
A tidy wee Civic in rare sedan form. CarJam suggests this came off the road in early 2014, despite records suggesting it had travelled less than 80k.
Class 40 40058 comes round the curve into Norwich station with a Manchester to Yarmouth service. 03/09/1983.

BR(S) Class 210 DEMU 210001 at Taplow station, on a bright sunny day in July 1983.
These were supposed to replace the old 1950s DEMUs on the Southern Region, but the trials were later discontinued.. The units were all withdrawn later in the 1980s, and some of the ‘trailer’ carriages were re-used, but most were later scrapped..
Today (2024) the station has been refurbished, and the old lattice footbridge seen here has been replaced, and these tracks are now electrified.. Great Western and LT Elizabeth Line services now operate here..
