The Osceola #13, a long-abandoned mine in Calumet, Michigan. This was one of the last mines running in the Keweenaw, the remnants of the once great Calumet and Hecla. This view is of a hydraulic rock chute between the rockhouse (in the background) and the shaft (behind me). Notice the bushes growing in the closed bucket.

Liam's Luck just got better! Thanks to all of the good he's been doing he's been given the chance to train with the legendary Sensei Wu! How do you think Liam will do?

Stranger #13 - she's the first stranger whom I photographed in my home town.
I ran out of portraits of super friendly people from southern California (I really hope I'll have an opportunity to go back there again!) and had to go out in order to continue the project. I was prepared for rejection because this is something that should be expected within this grumpy society and my first attempts to start this project in Poland long time ago weren't very successful :) Anyway, I pushed myself, went out and was wandering aimlessly for some time. At some point I realised it was getting dark very quickly so it was time to act in order to achieve something.
So I approached her and ask for a photo. It turned out she's very friendly and agreed almost immediately when I explained what I'm doing. She was actually quite interested in the project. I got to say that this encounter has left me in pretty optimistic mood and I'm really positive that the project will thrive in the upcoming days ;)
This picture is #13 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
I was just going to adjust something when I hit the remote shutter release by mistake and captured this.
...
Oh, alright, I actually tried 17 times to get the autofocus to recognize my arm. What do you mean I still didn't get it in focus? How dare you.
Finally finished reading Aoharaido (Ao Haru Ride) manga :)
I started reading this manga two years ago at Starbucks in Akihabara, Tokyo. And I also finished reading it at Starbucks - only not in Japan, but in my country (Prague, Czech Republic). ;)
A croissant is a buttery, flaky pastry of Austrian origin, but it is most famously associated with French cuisine. Here are some key points about croissants:
1. Ingredients: Made from a laminated dough, which involves folding butter into the dough multiple times to create thin layers.
2. Shape: Typically crescent-shaped, which is where it gets its name (croissant means "crescent" in French).
3. Texture: Known for its light, airy, and flaky texture, with a golden-brown, crispy exterior.
4. Varieties: Can be plain or filled with ingredients like chocolate, almond paste, or ham and cheese.
5. Consumption: Often enjoyed as a breakfast item or snack, commonly paired with coffee or tea.
Croissants are a beloved pastry worldwide, celebrated for their rich flavor and delicate texture. ✨
