It must be said I am not a big fan of winter.
It's cold. It's dark. It's not even Christmas anymore to get you through this season and there is some form of precipitation everyday.
I had a 'dramatic discussion' with my mum about that if the sun hasn't risen, then neither should I. A fair point I think, don't you?
I want summer to be here. I miss falling asleep on the beach and being outside in a T-shirt and shorts at 10:00pm and being able to see perfectly well and not be shivering. I miss the streaming sunlight, I miss listening to music on a picnic blanket in Montpellier Gardens, I miss the water fights, I miss it all.
Well, sorry for moaning but it is the 13th and the 13th is never a good day for me :/
I'm off to the 6th Form open evening at my school. I've written my application and I've started writing my letter too.
Mann, I hope I get in!

I have studied this photo all day. It amazes me that this boy saw me, posed, and would not move until I captured this wondrous image of him. I wish I could hug him.....but he's a boy and he probably would have run away from me, thinking that I had cooties.
It's official. I am the mother of a teenager. I feel like I'm just not tall enough to ride this roller coaster.
She wanted chocolate cupcakes with chocolate cream cheese frosting so I whipped these up for her today. And yes, they taste as good as they look. She's content with her new I-Pod right now. It was a good day. Good night/day to you all wherever you may be!

An early recipient of an allover advert in the SELNEC fleet was this former North Western Daimler Fleetline / Alexander, fleetnumber 13. Using a bus as a mobile billboard was a totally new concept at this time and this was only the fourth SELNEC bus to be so treated, which was advertising the greyhound racing track at Belle Vue. The application of the livery does absolutely bugger all for the fine lines of the low height Alexander bodywork and uses colours similar to that of a large national cowboy outfit that came into being some twenty-odd years later.
day 13. I was kind of running low on ideas, so I went to the weekly theme red. In searching for red items I saw olives in my fridge. They were jalapeno stuffed though... So in PP I changed the Jalapeno a red color to try to make it look like a pimento instead! :)

I spent a couple of hours at Samovar with Emma-Jane for the 39th Worldwide Sketchcrawl. My first visit here, such a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere...I will be back! The latte was good too!
I hadn't seen E-J in 4 years!!!...How did that happen??? We have vowed never to let it happen again.
I wanted to try my Seawhite concertina with ink and Tombow marker to see if it bled through before taking them to Rome in May, I am happy to report that the sketchbook stood up to the marker very well.
I decided to take the streetcar down to Toronto's St. Lawrence Market since today was market day.
I was drawn to Steven because of his hair, hat, and expressive face. He was surprised when I approached him for my Stranger project but readily agreed to pose. Only then did I realize his kiosk outside the Market door was selling framed photographs! His business partner Roberto (who will be Stranger #14) is the photographer and Steven does marketing. Their business is at www.RiverosPhotography.com.
While photographing Steven, I got several tips from Roberto who then agreed to pose although he said he is more comfortable behind the camera.
I learned that these two have been friends since the 1980s and have previous business ventures under their belts.
It was an enjoyable chat and they were sincerely happy to help me with my project. Thank you Steven for being my Stranger #13.
