But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
Quote from Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary
13:1-6 The psalmist complains that God had long withdrawn. He earnestly prays for comfort. He assures himself of an answer of peace. - God sometimes hides his face, and leaves his own children in the dark concerning their interest in him: and this they lay to heart more than any outward trouble whatever. But anxious cares are heavy burdens with which believers often load themselves more than they need. The bread of sorrows is sometimes the saint's daily bread; our Master himself was a man of sorrows. It is a common temptation, when trouble lasts long, to think that it will last always. Those who have long been without joy, begin to be without hope. We should never allow ourselves to make any complaints but what drive us to our knees. Nothing is more killing to a soul than the want of God's favour; nothing more reviving than the return of it. The sudden, delightful changes in the book of Psalms, are often very remarkable. We pass from depth of despondency to the height of religious confidence and joy. It is thus, ver. 5. All is gloomy dejection in ver. 4; but here the mind of the despondent worshipper rises above all its distressing fears, and throws itself, without reserve, on the mercy and care of its Divine Redeemer. See the power of faith, and how good it is to draw near to God. If we bring our cares and griefs to the throne of grace, and leave them there, we may go away like Hannah, and our countenances will be no more said, 1Sa 1:18. God's mercy is the support of the psalmist's faith. Finding I have that to trust to, I am comforted, though I have no merit of my own. His faith in God's mercy filled his heart with joy in his salvation; for joy and peace come by believing. He has dealt bountifully with me. By faith he was as confident of salvation, as if it had been completed already. In this way believers pour out their prayers, renouncing all hopes but in the mercy of God through the Saviour's blood: and sometimes suddenly, at others gradually, they will find their burdens removed, and their comforts restored; they then allow that their fears and complaints were unnecessary, and acknowledge that the Lord hath dealt bountifully with them.

The best that we can do is to be kindly and helpful toward our friends and fellow passengers who are clinging to the same speck of dirt while we are drifting side by side to our common doom.
From this experience I understood the danger of focusing only on what isn't there. What if I came to the end of my life and realized that I'd spent every day watching for a man who would never come to me? What an unbearable sorrow it would be, to realize I'd never really tasted the things I'd eaten, or seen the places I'd been, because I'd thought of nothing but the Chairman even while my life was drifting away from me. And yet if I drew my thoughts back from him, what life would I have? I would be like a dancer who had practiced since childhood for a performance she would never give.
Secret 13:
I hate the fact that I tend to drift from people. It's probably mostly my fault. I keep to myself. I don't talk about things too easily, and sometimes I think that's why I drift from people. But other times, I feel it's them.... Because everyone is different, and everybody leaves.
I WANT TO BE A SPACE PILOT
by Carla Greene
Kip, the son of a jet pilot, want to be a space pilot and go to the moon. But no pilot just blasts off for the moon. First, he learns about the earth with is air and gravity, and about the moon and outer space. He learns about the speed required to break away from the pull of the earth and about the special training and the tests that astronauts take to make sure they are fitted for the job of being space pilots.
Kip makes a good beginning but decided it will take him twenty years to learn all that he must know before he goes to the moon.

Well, here I am at almost 14 weeks and nothing really to write home about. I have a little pot-belly (it doesn't look so much like one because my arms are above my head, I'll do that different next time...), and my jeans are getting tighter even though I haven't gained any weight. They're getting tighter because my hips are getting bigger. Ooooh yay...
I also realized that I'm not very good at taking pictures of my belly. I think next time the tripod needs to be raised a little higher. I'm sure that soon I will be covering that door-knob that's in the background.
I guess that's really all the description I have for this picture. I had something else to say, but my brain has really turned to mush. I thought it was just a myth, this baby-brain thing that pregnant women talk about, but turns out it's completely true. Or maybe this is how I always am and now I just have an excuse :)
And, why yes, I do have a flat butt. I'm actually sticking it out here a little. I know. Sexy.
Finally these dolls are also available in germany.
Their make-up is nice and their clothes are fabulous, but their heads are full of nasty glue!

The Osceola #13, a long-abandoned mine in Calumet, Michigan. This was one of the last mines running in the Keweenaw, the remnants of the once great Calumet and Hecla. This view is of a hydraulic rock chute between the rockhouse (in the background) and the shaft (behind me). Notice the bushes growing in the closed bucket.

I was out and about at lunch time and came across the tidiest recycling box ever. Rows of cans all the same and neatly stacked. This had to be my picture of the day.
They must have had a good party!!
