Love you sweetheart.. xo
In Mayan culture, the number 13 was considered to be of special significance and many of the structures at Chichen Itza feature repetitions of images in this number. This building, the largest of the Classical Period (600 – 950 AD) architecture is known as “The Nunnery”. The early Spanish explorers gave it this name (Las Monjas) because the building has many doorways that reminded them of monastery cells.
This structure is actually not believed to be a temple but a royal palace. The face of the building is covered with intricate carvings with a focus on the Rain God “Chac”. The side entrance shown in this image includes 13 images of Chac, 8 on the bottom level, 4 on the top and the whole side is a huge face with the door representing the mouth.

Clean up following the derailment of the 7.30 Sligo goods train at the 46 mile signal cabin, Co. Westmeath.
Searched some newspapers online for a story about this derailment, but to no avail, so grateful thanks to Flying Snail for the following:
"Crash at 46 Mile Box
On 12th February a number of wagons on the 19:30 goods (Sligo - ex North Wall) were derailed. They piled up just on the Mullingar side of the signal cabin completely blocking the line.
It appears that a wagon in the middle of the train was derailed some distance on the Dublin side of the cabin and that the following wagons came off the road at the level crossing.
Trains were diverted via Portarlington and buses were called in until the following evening, when the siding was slewed into the running line to allow trains to pass the accident scene.
Loco A44r went down with the Inchicore crane, leaving North Wall around 3:00 on the 13th. A51r attended with 2M, the Athlone crane. Three oil tankers - nos. 1720, 1726 and 1732 had run down the embankment on the down side and two were upside down in a stream.
The line was eventually cleared by the evening of the 14th, when A44r etc.. returned to Dublin around 21:00.

My "Don't Be Lazy!" shirt again with some RTW shorts. I love this outfit and my comfy repeat-shirt! See more at thegreencateye.com :)
day 13. I was kind of running low on ideas, so I went to the weekly theme red. In searching for red items I saw olives in my fridge. They were jalapeno stuffed though... So in PP I changed the Jalapeno a red color to try to make it look like a pimento instead! :)

I spent a couple of hours at Samovar with Emma-Jane for the 39th Worldwide Sketchcrawl. My first visit here, such a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere...I will be back! The latte was good too!
I hadn't seen E-J in 4 years!!!...How did that happen??? We have vowed never to let it happen again.
I wanted to try my Seawhite concertina with ink and Tombow marker to see if it bled through before taking them to Rome in May, I am happy to report that the sketchbook stood up to the marker very well.
I decided to take the streetcar down to Toronto's St. Lawrence Market since today was market day.
I was drawn to Steven because of his hair, hat, and expressive face. He was surprised when I approached him for my Stranger project but readily agreed to pose. Only then did I realize his kiosk outside the Market door was selling framed photographs! His business partner Roberto (who will be Stranger #14) is the photographer and Steven does marketing. Their business is at www.RiverosPhotography.com.
While photographing Steven, I got several tips from Roberto who then agreed to pose although he said he is more comfortable behind the camera.
I learned that these two have been friends since the 1980s and have previous business ventures under their belts.
It was an enjoyable chat and they were sincerely happy to help me with my project. Thank you Steven for being my Stranger #13.

Eliot, pug, wonders why he is being forced to stand in freezing cold snow with a scarf that is anything but warm!
