More than 200 Athletes from 11 Canadian Forces' CISM Teams will compete at the 2011 CISM Military World Games, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The 2011 Games will be held from 15-24 July, and will include competitions for male and female military athletes from around the world.This year’s Military World Games are also called the “Peace Games,” a name which celebrates the role of the Games in promoting the CISM motto of “Friendship through Sport”. The 2011 Military World Games will build peace and friendship by bringing together over 6 000 military athletes, coaches and support staff from over 100 countries. They are the 5th CISM Military World Games to be held, and are expected to be one of the largest and most successful yet.

The 3 Japanese teams were based in the Beaufort park hotel in New Brighton, so photted the cars before the start - so they were my adopted teams for the rally
Trong những năm chiến tranh từ 1964 đến 1973, tỉnh này là nơi bị phá hoại nặng nề nhất. Tỉnh lỵ cũ chính là Xiêng Khoảng nhưng vì bom đạn đã san thành bình địa nên phải lập Phonsavan là tỉnh lỵ mới. Nằm ở cao độ 1200m so với mực nước biển, vây xung quanh là núi nên thời tiết ở đây khá lý tưởng, không lạnh về mùa đông, không nóng về mùa hè, không ẩm về mùa mưa.
Mặc dù được coi là một phần của nước Lào từ thế kỷ 14 nhưng Xiêng Khoảng thường bị các nước lân bang cai trị. Nơi đây liên tục là bãi chiến trường của người Xiêm, người Tàu, người Việt, người Pháp...Từ cuối thế kỷ 15, vua Lê Thánh Tông sai năm đạo quân sang đây chinh phục để sát nhập vào Đại Việt, đặt tên là Trấn Ninh. Đến cuối thế kỷ 19, khi lập Liên bang Đông Dương, Pháp đã chia cắt lại địa hình, chính thức trả Xiêng Khoảng về cho nước Lào.
Trong cuộc chiến chống Pháp và Mỹ, Cánh đồng Chum, Xiêng Khoảng là căn cứ địa của bộ đội bắc Việt Nam và Pathet Lào. Vào cuối những năm 60, máy bay Mỹ rải bom hàng ngày như gieo hạt khiến cho hơn 1500 biệt thự ở Xiêng Khoảng, hơn 2000 ngôi nhà ở các làng mạc bị xoá sổ. Cuộc chiến khốc liệt đến mức mà một anh cán bộ Lào đã nói với chúng tôi rằng mảnh đất này chỗ nào cũng thấm máu bộ đội Việt Nam. Có lẽ do vậy mà ở Phonsavan có hai Tháp tưởng nhớ dựng trên hai ngọn đồi cao, nằm gần nhau, nhìn bao quát xuống thành phố, một cái cho bộ đội Pathet Lào, một cái cho bộ đội Việt.

its pretty upsetting because he wont be able to see me at my graduation.. he wont be able to be my first dance.

im making a video for his funeral and ceremony. im gunna miss him so much.
