Back Story ........................................

Ya want to know what they're saying ?

Young Helper:

" Is Uncle Jon really a young monkey boy

with no brain for thinking?"

No#1:

Yes, and if he gets any closer throw a tomato

at him and he'll run away like a young monkey !"

"So what did young monkey boy with no brain for

thinking do ?" ..... He Shot Em .......;-)~~~

Left early as usual, did a short stop at The Dog Palace.

Fed and brushed Mama, did a quick recon around to

make sure all is OK at Mamas place.Didn't interact with

any of the other dogs. Took off to see No# 1 Wife .

Spent a few hours with No# 1, mostly watching everyone work.

Arrived home just before dark where 3 hungry dogs were waiting.

Tomorrows plan is to leave early again and head straight for

The Dog Palace. Mama and all the other dogs at the monkey temple need to spend extra time with me, or visa versa ? ..;-)

Thursday I'll be back out to see No#1, again, feeding Mama on the way. I'll be leaving 4 Laos in a few days so there's lots to do yet.

Thank You.

El Jacinto azul sigue creciendo

1:18 Lamborghini Miura by Anson.

NYC, February 2009. I replaced this file with a slightly revised version in 2023.

The statue in the foreground of this shot is called "America" and is by Daniel Chester French and Adolph A. Weinman. It sits in front of the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House building at 1 Bowling Green in New York City. The glass building in the background is the MTA headquarters.

This is not entirely an original composition. In fact, I intentionally set out to capture a color version of this famous statue.

The Fokker Dr.1 (Dreidecker, ”triplane” in German), often known simply as the Fokker Triplane, was a World War 1 fighter aircraft built by Fokker-Flugzeugwerke. The Dr.1 saw widespread service in the spring of 1918. It became famous as the aircraft in which Manfred von Richthofen gained his last 19 victories, and in which he was killed on 21April 1918.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

The Fokker Dr.1 is a must in any collection of WW1 aircraft models, so it has been on my to-doo list for a long time. I did hesitate building one because there are so many brilliant models out there, and I did look at all the models out there, but this is completely my own design. It follows the same design characteristics as with my other WW1 models, such as engine cowling, wings and landing-gear. There is one key design feature of the Fokker Dr.1 I didn`t manage to recreate, the engine cowling ”face” with the two ”eyes” are missing. I couldn`t find a way to do it, so until I find a way it will be without ”eyes”.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

My dad's Canon AE-1 with modeling duties as I play around with my 2x Nikon SB-600 flash set up and a Nikon SU-800 commander.

Ironic, I know, taking a photo of my dad's Canon AE-1 with my Nikon D7200. LOL

I am more used doing 1x off shoe flash photography; I did try a 3 flash setup when I had 3 SB-600s and used the built in Creative Light System (CLS), but sadly had to return one of them due to misfires, and another had water damage by accident, leaving me with only one.

A few days ago, I got another SB-600 and this time a SU-800 so I can trigger the flashes a lot better/faster than always going on the submenu to control the built in CLS, and only now am I practicing how to control 2 flashes more efficiently.

I will hopefully save up for a SB-910 as my main flash and then practice a 3x off shoe flash photography.

Vought OS2U Kingfisher.

My latest addition to my collection of 1:40 Aircraft models : Vought OS2U Kingfisher.

About this creation:

When Jim Mcdonough was close to completing his Missouri, he suggested me to build an OS2U Kingfisher, since he was not completely satisfied with his own. At that time, I was working on my own top 10 favorite list of aircraft from WW2. But now I have finally collected the bricks so you can see the final result. The Kingfisher is not a fighter, and its performance is not particularly impressive, but to see it landing on meter high waves is quite spectacular, and certainly an unpleasant experience for the crew.

I started the design based on my F4U Corsair when I found that the engine sections looked quite similar to each other. But it was quickly rejected after a close study of cowling measures. Instead I found a suitable wheel plus a turbine part that fit almost perfectly.

This model also featured a number of challenges;

First, to mount the main pontoon in a sufficiently stable connection that was not too bulky.

Second, the design of the mainpontoon, which teased me so much that I had to reject my LDD design, and rebuild the rear of the pontoon on the table to obtain a sufficiently strong design.

The third and last major challenge was to get the correct dihedral angle. The wings are hinged at the correct angle and part of the wing structure protrudes into the aircraft fuselage and locks the wings securely so that they do not tilt up or down. This has also given the advantage that I could build the wings with a fine smooth surface and a nicely curved leading edge.

The color choice is not entirely in accordance with an original color scheme, but adapted so it still resembles the pictures you can see if you google images of the OS2U.

Praise and criticism is always welcome

History:

The Vought OS2U Kingfisher was an American catapult-launched observation floatplane. It was a compact mid-wing monoplane, with a large central float and small stabilizing floats. Performance was modest, because of its light engine. The OS2U could also operate on fixed, wheeled, taildragger landing gear.

The OS2U was the main shipboard observation aircraft used by the United States Navy during World War II, and 1,519 of the aircraft were built. It served on battleships and cruisers of the US Navy, with the United States Marine Corps in Marine Scouting Squadron THREE (VMS-3), with the United States Coast Guard at coastal air stations, at sea with the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy, and with the Soviet Navy. The Royal Australian Air Force also operated a few Kingfishers from shore bases.

The Naval Aircraft Factory OS2N was the designation of the OS2U-3 aircraft built by the Naval Aircraft Factory in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The OS2U first flew on 1 March 1938.

Flicker Fighters

After the villain, Ambush, was taken away in an ambulance Ben was relieved. Finally, he got the name of the woman who had been trying to have he and his Mum killed. With this information they could have her arrested or exposed. Ben quickly makes his way to ‘Imagine’ to tell his Mum the news. However, he gets an idea. If he were to pay this Shiela Baron a visit. Perhaps, in his armoured suit then this woman might get the message across that she’s bitten off more than she can chew. Ben and his Mum were stubborn and they were fighters. He wasn’t going to let this woman possibly get away with her crimes by bribing the police. No, he was going to scare her off. He had the upper hand, he had her name and location now.

Ben makes his way to the storage department and looks over some of the Mech armour models. He needed something with a weapon to intimidate and threaten. The model “Excalibur” catches his eye and he read over the instruction manual before suiting up. He learned to do that beforehand, ever since the incident with the flight suit. As he finishes suiting up the fire alarm goes off and Ben frowns rushing out of the department. People are fleeing the building. But something isn’t right, the emergency sprinklers should have been triggered. Unless, they were switched off before the fire had occurred. This was deliberate.

Ben: “No, Mum!”

Ben rushes up the stairs in his new armour. Luckily, it was lighter than his previous suit. Much lighter actually. He takes the hilt of the blade out from its compartment in the back of his armour and with a press of the button activates the blade. It folds out to its full length and glistens red from the fire alarm which flashes in the staircase. His Mum was on the 13th floor floor of the building. Luckily, he hadn’t came across any smoke yet as he made his way upstairs. That’s until he gets to the door and sees the hallway is glowing orange, and decorated with flames which cling to the walls. Ben rams the door open and stumbles ahead. Soot blackens his visor and he smears it away using his gloves. He squints, his eyes watering from the smoke. It’s then he sees a fireman standing outside his Mum’s door. After coughing Ben manages to find his voice and calls out for them. The foreman turns around, eerily looking at him with a tinted visor. That can’t be protocol, surely.

Ben: “Erm, excuse me?”

The fireman doesn’t say a word. But then again he doesn’t need to. Suddenly, his hands are engulfed in blazing flames and he holds them out at Ben. Ben had seen enough superhero movies to know what happens next. He leaps to the side. Just in time as a jet of flames spit out at the spot where he was standing. Ben gets to his feet wheezing from the smoke and runs at the Firefighter. Even though the villain was fully masked Ben could tell he was caught off guard by the stupidity of Ben running at him. The villain takes a few steps back and the flames around his fists burn brighter. He strikes the ground before him and it is set alight with an explosion. The extreme heat makes Ben burn from within his armour. He could feel his body wanting to crawl out from its metal tomb. But he had to shove the feelings aside and get to his Mum. The villain is silent and his tinted visor looks at Ben, waiting for his next move. He was purposely trying to wait him out, after all the villain was in firefighter gear. He was more prepared and better equipped in these conditions than Ben. The flames were growing taller, the oxygen was being burned away, and the ceiling was beginning to crumble. Nevertheless, Ben gets an idea. A very dumb idea. But, nothing else was coming to him. He takes several steps back and bursts into a run. The villain steps back and watches as Ben springs through the flames shielding his face. He feels his hair singe, his chin burn and his body scream in pain from the heat in his armour. Later, he emerges from the flames and slams his armoured body into the villain he had nicknamed, Firelighter. He and the villain smash through the door to his Mum’s office and Ben scrambles fo his feet with his sword at the ready. He looks around, his Mum nowhere to be seen. She must’ve left. She was safe, probably outside on the ground right now.

Ben: “You got to be kidding me.”

Retro Figs #1 Back to the Future (1985)

-

-

Back to the Future is one of my all time favorite films. The dialogue if fantastically written, Micheal J Fox and Chistopher Lloyd have incredible peformences, and the music is just so epic. -

-

-So fun facts about Back to the future.

-

-1: Eric Stoltz was actually the first person to play Marty. Robert Zemickis wanted Michael J Fox for the role, but he was shooting Family Ties every day, and didn't have room for it in his schedule. So they casted Eric Stoltz, shot around 3 weeks of footage, and then Robert and Bob decided that he wasn't the best fit, and so they fired Eric and convinced Micheal to shoot Back to the Future after Family Ties was done shooting (which is essentially 22 hours of filming a day!) -

-2: The ending to BTTF where Marty, Jenifer, and Doc travel in the Delorean to the Future wasn't actually meant to be a segway into a sequel. Robert and Bob never planned a sequel and put that in pretty much as a joke.

-

-3: BTTF 2 and 3 were shot back to back.
