A Blue Jay waits patiently for some seed to appear. These guys dominate the food chain on our lakefront, except for the squirrels of course!

HMBT!

Sunrise after a dusting of snow overnight - amazing to have a break in the clouds just as the rising sun hit the peaks of the mountains.

Found her during a fototrip in Darmstadt Park Rosenhöhe with my fotofriend Dagmar www.flickr.com/photos/137645690@N02/

on a dull day. At a time, the sun came out.... what luck !!

The Rosenhöhe (Rose Heights) is a beautiful garden, which was previously a vineyard in the possession of the royal house. It was transformed into a landscaped garden in the English style at the beginning of the 19th century. The royal architect Georg Moller decorated the park with tea-houses and pavilions.

The mystical park serves also as the cemetery for the Duches of Darmstadt with two impressive mausoleum buildings in its remote parts.

I was at the Edinburgh Botanic Gardens Light Show the other night. The show was great and I really liked using my camera in the high ISO mode, with my 50 mm F1.4 lens. This was my favourite image of the night. I think the image quality is good considering it is at 2500 ISO.

Korestia is a historic region of Western Macedonia in Greece. It’s a cluster of mountain villages (Ano and Kato Kranionas, Halara, Ano and Kato Melas, Makrochori, Mavrokampos, Agios Antonios, Gavros) exhibiting strong architectural and cultural interest. The traditional architecture of the villages is great for the region of Western Macedonia. Old houses are constructed with handmade bricks with red clay and straw, giving a reddish color to the landscape. The construction of the houses was maintained until the mid-20th century and then abandoned.

Mayschoss in the romantic Ahr valley is a real dream destination for hikers and photographers at the height of the leaves in autumn (last week of October).

Unfortunately, not much is left of the castle ruins. The castle plateau is a perfect vantage point for this and you can enjoy this view with a (or more) glass of wine on site.

My last night in Amsterdam.

I wanted to take all colors, from every corner. I did not reach time. Now, I think I should have stayed all night without sleep. But I was tired and felt very cold. I hope to return to this beautiful city.

The Laugavegur is a famous trekking route in South-West Iceland from the hot springs area of Landmannalaugar to the glacial valley of Þórsmörk . It is noted for the wide variety of landscapes on its 55 km (34 mi) path. The route is typically completed over 2–4 days with potential stops at the mountain huts at Hrafntinnusker, Álftavatn, Hvanngil and Emstrur. An ultramarathon is held on the route each July. It is possible to combine the trek with the Fimmvörðuháls route which goes over the pass from Þórsmörk to Skógar for an additional one or two days or an additional 25 km (16 mi). Landmannalaugar, Þórsmörk, and Skógar are all reachable by bus during the summer. A bus from Hella connects with Álftavatn once a day during the summer.

A busy afternoon on the Sand Hills Subdivision in Nebraska… pity the guys trying to get track-and-time to work on one of the switches in the crossover!
