(13/365) Beautiful sunny day after a sharp frost. This is Grange beach near the village of Fethard-on-Sea HFF!
Victoria ist eine Pflanzengattung in der Familie der Seerosengewächse (Nymphaeaceae), die aufgrund ihrer enormen Blattgröße im deutschen auch Riesenseerosen genannt werden. Kurz bevor ich von Bayern weggezogen bin, war ich das letzte Mal im Botanischen Garten in Erlangen. Ich wurde von Mutter Natur beschenkt mit einer seltenen Fotografie der Victoria-Seerose. Viele Jahre hatte ich im Botanischen Garten in Erlangen fotografiert und hatte niemals die Möglichkeit gehabt die Victoria-Blüte zu sehen, da normalerweise nur Nachts die Blüte aufgeht und es die Öffnungszeiten nicht zuließ, diese wunderbare Blüte zu fotografieren. Es war ein kühler Morgen und ich war überrascht als ich die offene Blüte der Victoria sehen durfte.

Victoria is a genus in the family Nymphaeaceae (Nymphaeaceae), called because of their enormous size sheet in German giants lilies. Just before I moved away from bavaria, I was the last time at the Botanical Garden in Erlangen. I was gifted by Mother Nature with a rare photograph of the Victoria lily. For many years I had photographed at the Botanical Garden in Erlangen and had never had the opportunity, the Victoria Bloom to see because usually only at night the flower opens and did not allow the opening times to photograph this wonderful flower. It was a cool morning and I was surprised when I could see the open flower of Victoria.

فيكتوريا هو جنس في الأسرة نيلوفرية (نيلوفرية)، وتسمى لما لها من حجم ورقة هائلة في الزنابق العملاقة الألمانية. قبل انتقلت بعيدا من بافاريا، وكانت آخر مرة في حديقة النباتات في الاحتفالات. كنت الموهوبين من قبل الطبيعة الأم مع صورة نادرة من فيكتوريا زنبق. لسنوات عديدة كنت قد صورت في حديقة النباتات في الاحتفالات ولم أكن الفرصة، فيكتوريا بلوم لنرى لأن عادة إلا في الليل زهرة تفتح ولم تسمح أوقات فتح لتصوير هذه الزهرة الرائعة. وكان صباح بارد وفوجئت عندما كنت أرى زهرة مفتوحة فيكتوريا.

that we possess a tiny crystal of magnetite in the ethmoid bone, located between the eyes, just behind the nose.
Magnetite is a magnetic mineral
also possessed by homing pigeons,
migratory salmon, dolphins, honeybees, bats...
Perhaps the sense behind following one's nose ;-)

Una vez dejado atrás el Puente de San Martín, y subiendo la cuesta que nos lleva la Bajada de San Martín, nos encontramos con una de las puertas antiguas de la ciudad, de las mas bonitas de Toledo para mi. Se trata de la llamada Puerta del Cambrón, antiguamente Puerta de los Judíos, por su cercanía al barrio hebreo. La puerta tiene un origen muy antiguo, al parecer de origen visigodo. Hoy en día conserva parte de la estructura de época musulmana con un aspecto exterior de estilo renacentista, fruto de las remodelaciones acometidas en el S.XVI. En estas obras participaron los maestros de obra Hernán González, Diego de Velasco o Juan Bautista Monegro. La puerta consta de dos fachadas, una interior que mira hacia la ciudad y otra exterior hacia la Vega, constando cada una de dos torreones. En el centro existe un gran patio rectangular. En la zona superior estaban las habitaciones del guardián. La parte inferior de la fachada interior posee un arco entre columnas dóricas con un tipo de almohadillado serliano. En el centro de esta fachada se halla el gran escudo real encima de una urna con la imagen de Santa Leocadia, patrona de la ciudad. La foto la capté después de esperar...1 hora tal vez, era tal la cantidad de turistas por esta zona, que tuve que tener paciencia, sabéis que procuro hacerlas si es posible sin gente...

Es el ave montañera por excelencia. Acompañante habitual de todo aquel que se interna en las altas cumbres meditrerráneas.
El acentor alpino es el único representante de aves alpinas que habita en las cotas más altas de Sierra Espuña, ya que el resto de las aves representadas en las zonas mas altas son aves esteparias como la Collalba gris (Oenanthe oenanthe), la Alondra común (Alauda arvensis) y el Colirrojo tizón (Phoenicurus ochrurus).

It is the mountain bird by excellence. The usual companion of everyone which enters the high meditrerráneas summits.
This is the only representative of alpine birds that inhabit the higher reaches of the Sierra Espuña, since the rest of the birds represented in the highest areas are steppe birds such as the Northern Wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe), the Eurasian Skylark (Alauda arvensis) and the Black Redstart (Phoenicurus ochrurus).
The waterbuck (kobus ellipsiprymnus) is a large antelope found widely in sub-Saharan Africa. The waterbuck exhibits great dependence on water. It can not tolerate dehydration in hot weather, and thus inhabits areas close to sources of water.

Old lava fields cover the area towards the southern end of Lanzarote, where the sea meets Timanfaya Park. The sun was sinking behind me, under a bank of clouds and offering some great light.

Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) I was stalking a little egret along the bank of our local reservoir when this heron suddenly burst out from the cover of the reeds in front of me. I just managed to get the camera on him but I don't know who was more surprised!
Another very famous photo stop on Buttermere in the Lake District.Hopefully I will return here in winter when the single lonely tree is more isolated out in the lake. Still an amazing place with lots of opportunity with its beauty.
