It has meanwhile become a tradition for us to spend NYE in a European capital. This year Copenhagen was the place to be and we spent great days in this beautiful city. Similar to Oslo last year the light conditions in Scandinavia during Winter are quite challenging. Something between low light and night conditions are interesting and demanding. Hopefully the final snow of winter will soon be replaced with leaves on the trees.

Common Blue on his sleeping place on a hill in the southern Eifel during the sunset. The sun went down in clouds of mist and was therefore not outshone. Using a reflector I brought the light to the dark side of the butterfly.

Christmas is less than a fortnight away and nature here in Ostwestfalen is like early Spring. We used Sunday afternoon for an extended hiking tour around home waters of the river Werre in the Löhne area.
This Great Egret was catching some excellent late afternoon sun on a recent day at Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge, Michigan.
A dramatic, stormy sunrise over Idaho's Sawtooth's, reflected in Little Redfish Lake.
A b/w version of this riveting daybreak in comments.
Thanks for taking a look! Always appreciated.
We had just reached the Bryce Canyon at Sunset Point, when a strong thunderstorm descended northeasternly over the Escalante Mountains, while lights sprawled across the landscape from the west. Because it was only fast to attach the camera to the tripod to maintain this mood. And after a few minutes a huge (double) rainbow spread out, for which unfortunately the 18 mm of the lens was not sufficient.

I am not a real friend of Winter days but there are moments when I love the mood, the colours and the silence. Hücker Moor, Ostwestfalen, Germany
Kaiser Wilhelm monument in Autumn. October waved goodby with sunshine and warm tempereratures and we used the perfect weather for an extended hiking tour on the Wittedindsweg, a crest trail on the Wiehengebirge from Porta Westfalica in the East to the Osnabrück area in the West. Before the sun went down we visited the most interesting spots of the Eastern part of the trail.

This is the tale of a wandering afternoon in the eternal city, Rome; I was leaving the Trastevere district toward the Tevere river, was the hour around the sunset, and the day wasn't one of the best I ever seen in Rome. But when I crossed the Garibaldi Bridge I've been hit by this view meanwhile I recalled someone sentence about me that bring the clouds with me during my travels. As usual I was with my loyal Nikon D810 and the wideangle; then, these are my clouds over Rome.

Okok, I admit it. Once I'd like to play with one of my photos, this is Bodie, a ghost town of gold miners in California. I worked the photo to obtain the "old wild west" flavour. Just missing Billy the Kid in the frame and the image is complete, but the man on the right with his shadow looks like a gunslinger ready for a duel.
This Winter has been very mild but finally polar air has reached Northwest Germany. After a great sunset yesterday the temperature dropped to -9 C last night. But it looks as if the frosty period will not survive the weekend.

Muchas gracias a tod@s!!
Thanks a lot for all :D
