I love wings and I used to cook them once in a while, using a deep fryer pot filled with oil on my stovetop. It often got messy, with oil inevitably splashing and dripping all over the place, not to mention the lingering smell.

 

An air fryer doesn't exactly cook like an oil fryer. It requires space around the food to allow air to circulate around it, much the same way oil would surround the food when cooking. It also doesn't allow you to use wet batters. It would most likely run off before it's cooked.

 

With these differences in mind, do I have any regrets? Would I switch back? Absolutely not! To me, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks!

 

These air-fried wings turned out great! After seasoning, I coated them in a little flour and cooked them for 15 minutes before tossing them in some BBQ sauce. Yummy!
