Flickr: Women's stories
Flickr has invited me to create this album, which is now also posted as gallery by flickr. Underneath is the story about my journey through photography.
My journey in photography
My journey in photography started as a child, seeing the beautiful photos my father made, and him giving me my own first compact camera on my 7th birthday. From the very beginning I was always looking for landscapes to photograph and that has remained a big part of my photography ever since. I have a special love for winter landscapes.
Between that moment, and now there have been many defining moments that changed and improved my photography. Of course a big change was from analog to digital cameras and subsequently to full frame and mirrorless cameras. But looking back I think the major defining moment was joining social media platforms some 15 years ago. So I have Flickr to thank in a big way for a great leap forward in my photographic journey. For the first time I witnessed what amazing images could be created and also improved with post processing. I was literally flabbergasted by what I saw. One style of photography that was completely new to me was blue hour photography and I immediately embraced it. It is still today a main part of what I shoot and post on Flickr.
Landscapes and blue hours remain favorites but at the same time I enjoy venturing off my well trodden path, towards abstract, architecture and minimalism. Seeing minimalist landscapes in photos inspires me even though I still find it quite challenging to find the right compositions myself. It is a learning curve that I am working through with great pleasure.
I have made a selection of photos that have been important to me, some that have had a lot of positive response on flickr and a few of my more recent dabbelings with minimalism.
