Rorbu mirror, Norway (explored)

Norway never ceases to inspire me. I love coming here almost every winter to photograph, and whenever possible I also like coming in summer. This is one of the images I had seen examples of, taken by other photographers, and I wanted to get my own version. A late summer afternoon would be best, with the sun on the mountain side. And so I arrived on a late august day to take the photo. What I had not counted on was a group of youngsters that were splashing about in the water making any kind of reflection impossible. It took a lot of control to not yell at them as I could see the line of shade starting to creep up the mountainside. But luckily the disappearing sun got them shivering and they quite abruptly disappeared. The water settled within a minute or so and I was able to get my desired symmetrical shot of this little line of cottages and their reflection on the waterside.
