"The Teeth Before Your Teeth"
As I scrounge for things to photograph this year, I occasionally come across something which at first seems to lack visual interest. However, once I attach an extension tube to my macro lens.....well, then the fun begins! With my subject and camera in place, it was then simply a matter of selecting which tooth I should focus upon. Not only does macro photography allow one to disorient the viewer, but you also get to see things in whole new way. Suddenly, small scratches become valleys, and a crayon may resemble a mountain! In today's case, I explored a meat tenderizer. There is a bare speedlight at camera-right, just low enough to cast a shadow of the camera-right teeth on to the those at camera-left. If I moved the strobe a quarter of an inch higher.....a totally different image. Thanks for stopping by for a bite!
