Rays & Butterflies At Big Bend Power Station - British Mother's Day

I hope all our British friends enjoyed their Mother's Day weekend! The Big Bend power station, in Tampa might seem like a strange place to celebrate British mother's day, but we had a great time. During the winter, the warm water surrounding the power station provides critical protection from the cold for hundreds of manatees. Unfortunately, we arrived too late in the year to see the sea cows, but there was still plenty to do at this Florida attraction. A touch tank, under the boardwalks, is home to the official mascots of Tampa Bay Rays baseball team. Once baseball season starts, the stingrays head back to their Major League Baseball stadium. India loves the stingrays, she had so much fun and even made a friend! We also enjoyed the butterfly garden and all it's beautiful flowers. A tidal walkway gave us better view of the power station, we will definitely be back to see the manatees next winter. We finished the day with smoothies on Clearwater Beach. I love our family adventures and I am so grateful to be India and Brubba's mama!
