Thank you Maria Xenou Photodromos for reminding me with your beautiful picture and song that tomorrrow is Mother's day, in Greece.
You brought memories and a tear to an old man's eyes.
This is my contribution, dedicated to all the mothers of the world.

I want to wish you all a very Happy Mother's Day.
For most of us in my age group (I will be 70 next month) our mothers have passed away. Mine died at the age of 64. Way too young.
Mothers, in my opinion, have one of the hardest jobs in the world and it takes a lot of fortitude, stamina, integrity, grit, humor, heart and too many other traits to list here, to be a really good mom.
But most of all, it takes a lot of love. Total and unconditional love. Because as long as children know that they are loved, that is half the battle to making sure they feel they matter and are supported.
Too many children lack that love and support which often causes a lifetime of sadness and emotional trauma.
So to all the moms who have children, to all the children who still have their moms and to all the adults who have their moms, feel lucky. If you've lost your mom, like me and many others, we can at least hold on to the memories and the good times and smile while we think of her. We never forget our moms.
Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.
Wishing all Mother's, those present and those we are dearly missing, a wonderful Mother's Day!

Gent 08:00 a.m.
Moederdag. De dag waarbij vele moeders een bloemetje krijgen. Deze zondagochtend vroeg opgestaan voor deze beelden. Vrolijkheid. De schoonheid van het ontwaken van de stad schreef Wim De Craene ooit. Ik begrijp hem. De schoonheid van wellicht een nieuwe tijd waarbij Corona hopelijk verslagen wordt. Gent ontwaakt. Deze man , een zelfstandige bloemist ziet het helemaal positief zitten. Vandaag is kassadag voor velen op dit plein. Ik vroeg hem een dansje te doen.
Voor mij een belevenis om mensen te zien , bloemen en schoonheid. Maar ook eenzaamheid.

Mothers Day. The day when many mothers receive flowers. could not sleep. Got up early this Sunday morning for these images. Cheerfulness. Ghent singer Wim De Craene once wrote about the beauty of the city's awakening. I understand him. The beauty of perhaps a new time where Corona will hopefully be defeated. Ghent is awakening. This man, an independent florist, is optimistic about it. Today is checkout day for many in this square. I asked him to do a dance.
For me an experience to see people, flowers and beauty. But also loneliness.

Love you Mum, love you Mums (or Moms if you are that way inclined) everywhere. We couldn't do without you, no matter who we are.
I kept noticing this squirrel carry something up the tree three times earlier but this time I caught her carrying a youngster. I guess rent was due in the old tree.
