Why do we doubt?

The story of Peter walking on water, then fearing the waves and thunder, and finally the Savior catching him up out of the water, has always been precious to me. The saviors words, “wherefore didst thou doubt?“ is a call and plea to all to put our trust in the Lord and doubt not that he is able to and will protect us from all hazard outside of His will for us. Sometimes we to falter and waiver in the midst of so much evidence like Peter, saw the Savior on the water, the Savior told him to come unto Him on the water, and he started to walk on the water. Now that’s a lot of evidence to put your trust in the Lord, and yet he feared, doubted, and faltered in his faith. The interesting thing, is that it simply does not have to be like this. The Scriptures are laid before us and we have access to the greatest power on earth or in heaven, even the light of Christ, and the power of the Holy Ghost, which is a third member of the Godhead.
