“I have often wondered whether especially those days when we are forced to remain idle are not precisely the days spend in the most profound activity."

Quote from Wikipedia:

The Wakato Bridge (若戸大橋 Wakato Ōhashi?, lit. "Great Waka-To Bridge), is a suspension bridge in Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka, Japan. Opened on September 26, 1962, it has a 367-meter main span and is two kilometers long. The name of the bridge comes from the characters of the Kitakyūshū wards of Wakamatsu (若松) and Tobata (戸畑) that the bridge connects across Dokai Bay.

Diversity: the art of thinking independently together.

Malcolm Forbes

When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy

Real cultural diversity results from the interchange of ideas, products, and influences, not from the insular development of a single national style.

Tyler Cowen

Today when I think about diversity, I actually think about the word 'inclusion.' And I think this is a time of great inclusion. It's not men, it's not women alone. Whether it's geographic, it's approach, it's your style, it's your way of learning, the way you want to contribute, it's your age - it is really broad.

Ginni Rometty

We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion.

Max de Pree

What I'm trying to do is get a change in the mindset so people move from a level of mere tolerance to total acceptance and eventually to celebrate diversity. If you feel comfortable with one another, it doesn't matter whether we live in which neighbourhood but we can interact with one another freely. It's a mindset.

Najib Razak

Diversity on the bench is critical. As practitioners, you need judges who 'get it!' We need judges who understand what discrimination feels like. We need judges who understand what inequality feels like. We need judges who understand the subtleties of unfair treatment and who are willing to call it out when they see it!

Debbie Wasserman Schultz

We need to reject any politics that targets people because of race or religion. This isn't a matter of political correctness. It's a matter of understanding what makes us strong. The world respects us not just for our arsenal; it respects us for our diversity and our openness and the way we respect every faith.

Barack Obama

Right now, when we're hearing so much disturbing and hateful rhetoric, it is so important to remember that our diversity has been - and will always be - our greatest source of strength and pride here in the United States.

Michelle Obama

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

This image is inspired by the words greeting the visitors of The New England Holocaust Memorial in Boston.

“They came first for the Communists,

and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist.

Then they came for the Jews,

and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists,

and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Catholics,

and I didn’t speak up because I was a Protestant.

Then they came for me,

and by that time no one was left to speak up.

Martin Niemöller

Lutheran Pastor

This statement, attributed to Pastor Niemöller, has become a legendary expression of the lesson of the Holocaust. Ironically Niemöller had delivered anti-Semitic sermons early in the Nazi regime. He later opposed Hitler and was sent to a concentration camp.”

The words above are those actually engraved on a stone at the Memorial.

I always keep this quote in mind because apathy and indifference are the path to injustice and oppression.

Never ever think the injustices suffered by other people don’t affect you: they affect all of us because in the moment we start to accept them they will be justified.

I know you expect, and most likely prefer lol, something happier and fun from my photos but for once I wanted to deliver a message of “civic engagement”.

I adapted the original quote to the “Brick universe” and told the story by the point of view of a not a Minifigure, the one from the last panel.

Even though the narrator Minifigure’ parts comes from The Lego Batman Dick Grayson (body from the collectible series and headpiece from the Catwoman set) with the addition of Captain Boomerang hat, it does not represent any specific character.

I will resume the ordinary parodies very soon :)

May the Brick be with You :)

Quote ----"-All for one, One for All"...by Alexander Dumas, The Three Musketeers. 1844

Movie Comedy 1986 ! ---3 Dudes, Fancy Outfits, and a Quest. A bumblers united theme. .Would the roguish and revolutionary writer/playwright Alexander D. approve of this crazy parody ? HSoS

Quote about forgiving.

Four different quotes from four different writers. I can't say they are all writers I like, because I have no idea who André Malraux was ... But the quote is good enough to be used, anyway ... And I love good quotes. :)
