The second quadrangle at Jesus college. This part of the college was begun in 1640, the work was interrupted by the Civil war and resumed again in 1676, and it not completely finished until 1712. It's famous the Dutch gables (which is what that type of 'facade topping' is called).

------------------------------ JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------

SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS ALONE!

❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️

1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)

7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!

So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus died that death for YOU and I. The good news is there no more punishment for sin left, we were and are all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Matthew 28:1-7

New International Version

Jesus Has Risen

1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”

Homeless Jesus - Tim Schmalz's "Frozen Sermon"

A new Homeless Jesus sculpture, presented to the people of Dublin by an anonymous North American benefactor, has been unveiled by the sculptor in the grounds of Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin. Some people love the Banksy feel of it,but others consider it an insult to the figure of Jesus.

The bronze sculpture depicts a park bench with a faceless cloaked figure lying on it. Passers–by realise that the sculpture depicts Jesus only when they notice the holes in the feet. The piece is located in front of the cathedral in full view of the public. and leaves enough room on the bench for someone else to sit down. It's a representation that suggests Christ is with the most marginalized in today's societies.

The first statue was inspired by a sideways glance at a homeless person on a bench in Toronto. The sculptor said that he wanted to get the message out, especially to churches that might want to put this visual prayer outside their church to remind people that human life is sacred.

Casts of the Homeless Jesus sculpture have been installed in cities in N.America,Canada and Europe. Following a competition among prospective Dublin sites,Christ Church Cathedral was chosen to be the location by Tim Schmalz.

At some places in US & Canada people leave gifts for the homeless around the sculpture that are picked up by the homeless or, at the end of the day, collected and given to the shelters.

Church of Ireland Archibishop of Dublin Dr Michael Jackson said that throughout the world of today human beings are subjected to indignity, homelessness, trafficking and death. Every day for them is a Good Friday. They wait for the day of resurrection in hope,in fear, in trust and in betrayal,in darkness and in light.Homeless people draw us into their world, and rightly; we dare not abandon them here or abroad.

The Homeless Jesus is a reminder to the entire community of this city,Catholics and Protestants, people of Faith and people of None. There are people who cannot find a suitable roof over their head and families without a place where they can live with dignity, then none of us can roll over in our comfortable beds with an easy conscience ...

PS: Homeless Jesus' sculpture was banned from central London according to Westminster Council decision. They said it would fail to maintain or improve the character or appearance of the Westminster Abbey and Parliament Square conservation area ... Think about the irony of Jesus the Homeless being Homeless himself , in London ...

I really enjoy a day with great clouds.

Algunos chopos secos, llama ardida

toda reposo: vidrio, madera, bronce,

The church plan is that of a Latin cross with five aisles. The central nave vaults reach 45 meters while the side nave vaults reach 30 meters. The transept has 3 aisles. The columns are on a 7.5 meter grid however the columns of the apse, resting on del Villar's foundation, do not adhere to the grid, requiring a section of columns of the ambulatory to transition to the grid thus creating a horseshoe pattern to the layout of those columns. The crossing rests on the four central columns of porphyry supporting a great hyperboloid surrounded by two rings of 12 hyperboloids (currently under construction). The central vault reaches 60 meters. The apse will be capped by a hyperboloid vault reaching 75 meters. Gaudi intended that a visitor standing at the main entrance be able to see the vaults of the nave, crossing, and apse, thus the graduated increase in vault loftiness.

The columns of the interior are a unique Gaudi design. Besides branching to support their load, their ever-changing surfaces are the result of the intersection of various geometric forms. The simplest example is that of a square base evolving into an octagon as the column rises, then a 16-sided form, and eventually to a circle. This effect is the result of a three-dimensional intersection of helicoidal columns (for example a square cross-section column twisting clockwise and a similar one twisting counter-clockwise).

Grazie 1000

Thanx a lot

D. Jesús Otero Oreña left his legacy to his native town, you can see it in the Museum and Foundation that bears his name located next to the Collegiate Church of Santa Juliana in Santillana del Mar.

This museum, inaugurated in 1994, is nourished by private funds donated by the author to the town in 1993.

It is a total of fifty sculptures, many of which were made in the last years of the author's life, to which we must add utensils, tools and drawings used in his creation.

//

One of my July crushes is on this humble church in Nonette (Auvergne). Unfortunately its indoor dilapidated state is significant, its agony long-lasting...

Walking through the crypt at Canterbury Cathedral, this quiet corner hides the Jesus Chapel.

This photo was taken in the village of Athieme in Benin, West Africa. It was interesting to me because someone had painted a tear coming down his cheek.

Last night I dreamt Jesus and I walked along a beach.

"Jesus," I said, "you're black? I thought that was a Hollywood cliche. I figured you didn't have a race--you were just the essence of forgiveness or love or something."

"Nope, I'm black. My son, I'm concerned about the path of your life. You used to help the less fortunate. You used to devote yourself to causes. Now you just pursue money. What happened?"

"Jesus, I'm not sure I ever cared about those causes or if I just wanted to aggrandize myself. I mean, I care but it's secondary to making my own life better. And it's a distant second."

Jesus nodded understandingly.

"Everyone wants to improve their lot, Jesus. But materialists are at least honest about it. Given that you've built us with this self-preservation that trumps other concerns, maybe the most we can hope for is to not be a hypocrite. And to make enough money to enjoy the world you've built for us. It does take money, Jesus, no matter what anyone says."

Holding his hands behind his back as we walked, Jesus was the model of the thoughtful listener. "Mmm-hmm. There was an element of egotism to your works. But in sum you may, eventually, have been able to make some difference, even if small."

"The ends justify the means, Jesus? Is that the creator's philosophy?"

"Oh no. Look around," he said, gesturing to the sky and the water and the sand. "My father was a dadaist. And maybe," he concluded, probing a wound in his wrist absent-mindedly, "a bit of a sadist."

A strange mix of cult-like end of the world posters proclaiming Jesus is coming soon, and a lost cat notice in the middle. I love finding strange stuff like this randomly in the city. I normally avoid shooting pattern shots since they tend to be boring, but the disjointed Jesus posters with the cat notice standing out of place makes this much more interesting then a straight pattern.
