It's been in the news: "This is the first big partial eclipse to happen in the UK since 1999, and the next one isn't until August 2026, so this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity." - So all gear set up and waiting - hoping for a glimpse of that "once-in-a-generation" event...
BUT the weather didn't play by the rules where I live: Muddy skiess all morning... No sun to be seen, let alone the moon trying to cover it up...
Still, with all the gear in place, when the clouds went I decided to do a shot of the sun (background image - HDR'ed) and "post-processed" my moon in with Photoshop afterwards.
Ha: If you cannot rely on UK clear skies, create your own eclipse! ;-)

Sunrise after a dusting of snow overnight - amazing to have a break in the clouds just as the rising sun hit the peaks of the mountains.
The opening of Fräulein Maria’s favourite things are "raindrops on roses", so perhaps she would enjoy this rose bloom, the last for the season on a bush in a garden where it survives on nothing but neglect, which I photographed on a stroll back in June. It was so vibrant and striking! The magenta colour in the bloom caught my eye from a mile away, and the way it is covered in raindrops, makes her a bejewelled beauty. Looking at this, I can well understand why raindrops on roses may well be one of Fräulein Maria’s favourite things.

Not far from Rovinj is the island of Sveti Andrija, which is not only worth a visit for its enchanting landscape and beautiful beaches. Sveti Andrija is the largest island in the Rovinj archipelago and was settled a long time ago by the Benedictines. A Benedictine monastery was founded here around the 6th century and was inhabited for a long time. After they left Sveti Andrija again in the 13th century, Franciscans settled in around the 15th century. They took over the building complex, expanded it and expanded it.
Jahrhundert Franziskaner an.

It was my first meeting with this strange species, and I had only one chance to shoot it since it flew away when I pressed the trigger.
The impressive sting at its tail is indeed a male genital bulb, hence completely harmless for humans...

Morgan Hook and Ladder Company is a historic fire station located at Naples in Ontario County, New York. The original part of the two story, frame structure was built about 1830 as a Federal style dwelling and later expanded and converted to a fire station in 1891 or 1892. It features a prominent hose drying / bell tower. It ceased being used as a fire station in 1926
Korestia is a historic region of Western Macedonia in Greece. It’s a cluster of mountain villages (Ano and Kato Kranionas, Halara, Ano and Kato Melas, Makrochori, Mavrokampos, Agios Antonios, Gavros) exhibiting strong architectural and cultural interest. The traditional architecture of the villages is great for the region of Western Macedonia. Old houses are constructed with handmade bricks with red clay and straw, giving a reddish color to the landscape. The construction of the houses was maintained until the mid-20th century and then abandoned.
A standout of the London skyline is the Shard, a 95 storey building that as the name suggest looks like a ‘shard of glass’. This structure is so imposing that I was able to capture the top of it as we travelled east on the Thames River into the wharf district. Ironically Metropolitan Wharf is on the north bank of the Thames and the Shard is on the south bank. I had to look at a map to put this into perspective for myself. I love the contrast between these old industrial buildings from the 1800s with this piece of modern architecture.

United States Fire-Arms Manufacturing Company, Inc. (U.S. Fire Arms Mfg. Co., ) was a privately held firearms-manufacturing firm based in Hartford, Connecticut. Originally produced single action revolvers that were clones of the Colt Single Action Army revolver.[1] The factory was located "Under the Blue Dome," the former site of the Colt East Armory, where Colt's Manufacturing Company produced many of their classic firearms in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The company no longer exists since about late 2011, and The Company was the last fire arms maker in the The Colt's Armory Complex - and the site is now seeking Historic Landmark Status.
