Description;

The thing I'm seeking for, is LIFE. We born, we love, we die. Is this life ? To me LIFE means the most beautiful and precious gift. Life has everything if you think positively; the color, dream, smile, happiness and above all here I chose the RHYTHM.
I've found the LIFE in the earth, in the clouds, in the air and inside her.
Laiba a 6 years old pretty girl from Pakistan. She stays with her family at Bakhshi Bazaar in Old Dhaka.
I purposely arrived about an hour early for a meet-up with Salem Digital Photo Group - www.salemphoto.org/. - I wanted to use this time to roam the streets of downtown Salem to see what I could find before the rest of the gang arrived at the Riverfront Park, where the meet-up would take place. www.cityofsalem.net/Residents/Parks/ParkTour/Pages/Riverf...
I really enjoy playing with shadows. It was in the evening and the sun was hitting this spot perfectly. Yes, I know. I defeated the purpose of the golden hour sun by converting to black & white. SO!!!!!!!! =)
Dear Friends, I'm back again, there, beside I let those wonderfull sunshines that I just to enjoy from my terrace.

I love getting shots tight against bridges with a wide-angle lens. I love the lines that it gives. Although Battersea Power Station isn't as well-known as the Houses of Parliament or as architecturally beautiful as St Paul's Cathedral, it is still an iconic landmark in London (albeit South London...).
I was going through shots from my photowalk with Murphyz and I asked on Twitter which shot I should put up. Without hesitation, Vulture Labs said Battersea Power Station. "Can't get enough of that building".
This shot was taken at around 23:00 hours on a Sunday night and used my remote shutter release for longish exposure of a minute. I like how, despite the light pollution, you can still make out stars. It's surprising how much they travel in this short amount of time! One of my favourite things about this image are the reflections of the lights across the Thames.
This looks much cooler when viewed in the lightbox. (Press L) (You can see so much more detail).

Great Horned Owls have adapted to many different places and climates. They occur in dense forests and high in the mountains. Great Horned Owls can vary in colour from a reddish brown to a grey or black and white. The underside is a light grey with dark bars and a white band of feathers on the upper breast. They have large, staring yellow eyes. The name is derived from tufts of feathers that appear to be horns which are sometimes referred to as ear tufts but have nothing to do with hearing at all. The large feet are feathered to the ends of the toes, and the immature birds resemble the adults. Females are 10 to 20% larger than males. Wingspan 91-152cm. Great Horned Owls have a large repertoire of sounds, ranging from deep booming hoots to shrill shrieks. The male's resonant territorial call oo-hoo hoooooo hoo-hoo can be heard over several miles during a still night. Great Horned Owls hunt by perching on snags and poles and watching for prey, or by gliding slowly above the ground. From high perches they dive down to the ground with wings folded, before snatching prey. Prey are usually killed instantly when grasped by its large talons. They also hunt by walking on the ground to capture small prey or wading into water to snatch frogs and fish. They have been known to walk into chicken coops to take domestic fowl. Rodents and small rabbits can be swallowed whole while larger prey are carried off and ripped apart at feeding perches or at the nest. Birds are often plucked first, and legs and wing tips discarded. An extremely wide range of prey species are captured, but rabbits and hares are its preferred prey. Mammalian prey includes all coexisting rodents, squirrels, mink, skunks, raccoons, armadillos, porcupines, shrews, moles, muskrats, and bats. They may sometimes take small domestic dogs and cats. Bird prey includes all other Owls (except Snowy Owl), grouse, woodpeckers, crows, turkeys, pigeons, Red-tailed Hawks, bitterns, Great Blue Heron, ducks, swans, gulls, etc. Reptiles include snakes, turtles, lizards, and young alligators. Amphibians include frogs, toads, and salamanders. Other foods include fish, large insects, scorpions, centipedes, crayfish, worms, spiders, and road killed animals. A Great Horned Owl is powerful enough to take prey 2 to 3 times heavier than itself.
Activity of the Great Horned Owl generally begins at dusk. Here at the Hochalm Bird-of-Prey Station in the National park Hohe Tauern these birds of prey can be up close and personal! An exciting experience in the Rauris Valley - Austria.

Emerald Lake is one of the most admired destinations in Yoho National Park, with an unmatched diversity of both activities and landscapes suited to the enthusiastic traveler.
The hike around the lake, clocking in at about an hour, is one of the least strenuous but most rewarding in the park. An incredible breadth of geological features can be viewed from the lake, including the world-famous Burgess Shale fossil beds, the Michael glacier, and an avalanche slope carpeted by meadows where moose often graze.

Are you white? Are you Caucasian? Are you a god damn cracker? However you want to phrase it, I’m asking if are you of European dissent? I am. This fact alone gives me a huge advantage living in the country I live in. Which also happens to be arguably the most powerful country in the world at the moment. Both in terms of economics, political pull and military agendas.
Why do I bring this up? Well I have found that when I go into poor areas that are primary black, you know the city dwellings where are the white people ran away from years ago, the fight or flight activity in my brain goes wild. I automatically feel out of place and rather fearful. Do I want to feel this way? Of course not.
And yes let me just get this stupid spiel out of the way because you knew it was coming: I don’t consider myself to be “racist” or a bigot or any of those labels that we associate with someone who is a close minded ignorant asshole. I’m not going to tell you how many “black” friends I have because I’m not trying to prove something to you (can you get any more lame by the way? I just want to punch white people in the face when they say that trying to prove their un-racist worth). But here I am admitting that my brain tells me to get scared when I go in to what people commonly refer to as the “ghetto”.
But I’m here to also tell you that I have a happy little moral to this story. I have found that when I am actually able to push these negative thoughts to the side, I wind up much happier.
Case in point? This picture. When I see the people in these areas while I take these pictures (at night) without acting like a scared little white boy, they tend to warm up to me. The more I unquestionably treat everyone there with the kind of respect of a human being that I would expect to be treated, the more accepted I seem to be in return.
But most prominently, the less fearful I genuinely am, the less hostile they are to me. The key word here being “genuinely”. Because you can’t fake this shit. You have to actually mean it. This isn’t a fucking Hollywood movie, it’s the real deal. The opposite of love is fear, not hate. No truer words have ever been said.
And if you think about this whole concept, it makes perfect sense. Think about you pimp photo viewer whoever you are. Think about if someone came to you and was a scared little pussy coming with all kinds of preconceived notions of who you are and completely judging you right off the bat before they even spoke a word to you. Would you dislike them? Would you automatically want to fuck with them? Possibly to just get them the fuck out of your face? Who wants to be around someone like that anyhow? Not me.
The shot at hand? One of the most notoriously “bad” locations of the entire bay area, West Oakland. There were parties, music blaring, people hanging out, and there you had Mr. Photo Man taking pictures because I LOVED this street corner. Something about that old restored car under that street lamp with that mural made for an awesome shot. Fedora included.

About the above, I thought long and hard about the crop. Lately I have been very much in love with the square crop, something that can be said by many of us on Flickr. I think there are so many of us that prefer it because Flickr's allowed display space is completely filled out when using a square crop. However, if the square crop was used here it would eliminate some important elements and take away from a good deal of the sky. So in the end, I did make a small crop but left it taller than square.
Hope everyone is doing Great!!!
