This is a rare bird this far north. It was found earlier this morning by Tom Edell.
The Zone-tailed Hawk is aggressive in the defense of its nesting territory, attacking animals as large as Golden Eagles, Red-tailed Hawks, and humans. --Cornell Lab of Ornithology
Frontal view of a Hawfinch (Coccothraustes coccothraustes) completely focused on its bath times. The bird is shaking its feathers and splashing water droplets everywhere, creating a wonderful dynamic texture against the soft green background. Captured during a lucky birdwatching moment in a shallow pool.
