This is actually skating on the lake, but the cleared area was apparently not as fun as going through the snow... go figure.

Hanging on my front porch (a few years ago) was this garden spider on its web with characteristic densely-spun, zigzag pattern known as a stabilimentum.
From Wikipedia: "The purpose of the stabilimentum is disputed. It is possible that it acts as camouflage for the spider lurking in the web's center, but it may also attract insect prey, or even warn birds of the presence of the otherwise difficult-to-see web. Only those spiders that are active during the day construct stabilimenta in their webs."

Ontario Place Pods, Toronto, were designed by Eb Zeidler. They were originally used for exhibitions at this public park/attraction. Now much of Ontario Place needs renovation. The city and citizen groups have been arguing what to do about it -- some want to demolish it and others want to renovate it because of its cultural heritage. Grunge texture added.
This is a cropped section of an image from this weeks adventure in Bentonville. Like much of the country lately, it was very windy.
Detail of 23 St George's Street, Canterbury. Originally designed by architects Robert Paine and Partners as a butcher's shop building, it was completed in 1954. It now houses a pharmacy store.
The building is Grade II listed by Historic England.

I'm blessed with a heart that doesn't stop
My minds a weathervane it spins around just like a top
Knows what the winds of fortune bring
In the season of the witch
Home is a perjury, a parlor trick, an urban myth
Oh how the circumstances change
This world of smoke and steel
Of compromise and meter-maids
I'm going to leave here before too long
Zigzagging toward the light
I'm off to sing my bounder's song
